All I can say is WOW!!! Yesterday I ordered the Classic Carol BLT on a croissant with the broccoli salad and it was DELICIOUS!!! The sandwich was arranged beautifully and everything was fresh. The broccoli salad had just enough dressing where it was not overpowering and was very tasty. It was also ready within 10 minutes! I can't wait to try the other flavors!! I have found my new favorite lunch spot!! Today I placed my 2nd order. I tried the Sassy Scotty BLT on a croissant with the broccoli salad and it was even more DELICIOUS!! I've been 2X now and LOVE the chicken salad flavors. I even took home a container of the pimento cheese (Delicious) to have later. As much as I'd love to give this place 5 stars, I can't. Unfortunately, I'd have to say the bread devalues the overall quality of the sandwiches. The croissants are very cold and not toasted. They also offer a choice between wheat and white bread. It too was cold although it was toasted on one side. I wish sour dough bread was an option. The potato soup was super tasty! There is also a nice little cookie added to your order and I enjoyed it as well. In the future I'll probably pick up a container of chicken salad and make my own sandwiches. Okay, when I first saw this building going in, I was hesitant to try it. The name is off-putting to me. I'm not sure why, it just sounds like a Limited Too 5 year old girls name for a restaurant and it makes me think they literally sell a Chicken Salad Sandwich and that's it. I went from wanting absolutely nothing to do with this place, to absolutely loving it and eating it all the time. Not only do they have an insane variety of chicken salad (to include buffalo chicken salad, spicy, bacon, ranch, jalapeno --whatever your mind can think of), but they also have a variety of sides (how 'bout that mac and cheese though!), soups and other sandwiches. I'm not even a huge fan of chicken salad. The chunks of celery and grapes are always a turn off for me. However, there is such a variety here, that you can pretty much customize the way you would eat chicken salad. This location has a drive thru and counter service style restaurant. It's cute inside (kind of like grandma's house, but a little more hip), and very quick, making it a great alternative to fast food. They've also got a variety of chicken salads you can buy in bulk and take home for later. Overall, don't be scared off by the name. Boys can enjoy this lovely restaurant as well! read more

It's chicken salad. Fancy, fruity, savory.... multiple varieties of chicken salad. The interior of this little place is cute, very clean, and bright. Get a scoop. Get a sandwich. Get frustrated. I decided on a scoop of the fruity Fran. The assistant manager said it's a lot you'll be full. When I showed her the deal on Yelp that said one free scoop of chicken salad, she said "oh no, that's just that was only a customer appreciation event". Well I suggested that it be removed from the Yelp app. And she said okay I'll tell her. I don't know who her is... But it was a little scoop of chicken salad,3 packages of crackers and a cookie for about $6. It was not enough. I left the store and went straight to chikfila. Perhaps if I had chosen the sandwich, it would have been filling. But it was just not a lot of chicken salad for $6. You can go to the grocery store get a rotisserie chicken, get an apple, and cut it up and the chicken salad would probably taste identical to what I just had. It was not anything special. I'm giving this a 3 bc the taste of the chicken salad and pasta salad was actually great. The experience....not so much. Did a call in order for pick up. Ordered 3 sandwiches, which each came with a side. No drinks. Total bill was $32. I don't mind paying a lot for good food but the chicken salad did not even cover the bread and I had 3, maybe 4 bites of pasta salad included. Portions are not equal to the price. Also, called back about two minutes after I placed my order to chance the bread choice on two of the sandwiches. No answer 3 times. Then, finally and answer and they put me on hold and never came back. When I was placing my order, the girl on the phone kept doing drink refills and talking to everyone that needed something. It took 5 minutes just to order, as she kept asking me to hang on while she helped others. I think more help was needed. Also, I ordered a chicken salad BLT, which says crispy bacon. Well, see the picture to see flimsy, not fresh bacon. I will try it again and am only leaving this to help the place fix kinks and stick around. This may be my new favorite place to lunch. Came in on opening day during their lunch hour and pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a crazy zoo on their first day. Decor is very cheery and welcoming with a few booths and several tables covered in flowered plastic table cloths. Has a bit of a picnic at the farm style feeling. It's all about the chicken salads which come in a variety of different recipes but they do offer soups, egg salad and a spicy pimento cheese. I chose a scoop of their favorite (& now mine!) Fancy Nancy which is a fruity (just a hint of grapes) and nutty chicken salad on a bed of lettuce. LOVED IT! Today was my first time coming here and I can tell you the experience was awful. My mother and I both wanted a salad similar to the chicken bacon ranch sandwich they had just minus the carbs. So they referred us to the original salad. Delightful! Then we asked to make sure it had bacon on it. Apparently, asking for bacon on your salad is a DEFINITE no no. We walk back in to get ribs PRECIOUS gold-infused bacon and the guy hands us two small ramekins of it and says "just to let you know.. this will be the ONLY time I can so this." Did God himself make this bacon? Why is it such a big deal? Manager sits there watching it all, doesnt say a word. I ask for a cup for water. That was also a bad idea. They didnt have any fitting lids for the water cups so my entire drive home, any small bu.p i hit was like a monsoon. No bueno. So THEEEEEEN i get home and open my salad and i had asked for extra ranch. They filled up 2 ramekins 1/4 of the way in each with ranch. Cool, thanks so much for my $25 meal. Wanted to try something different, so we went trough the drive thru around 3 today (Saturday). They forgot the salad and the side of macaroni that we had ordered. From the moment you walk in there's a hip chic feel to the place and we were able to order almost immediately because the line was going so quickly. The cashier was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to provide several suggestions to us. I can't remember the names of what we got but I think my friend got a fruity sort of chicken salad called Kelly and I got some kind of bacon ranch one. Then we got a side of what I think was a southwestern. All of them were so amazing that we ate until we were completely stuffed and then I brought the rest home and watched my teenage boys devour it on a couple pieces of bread. The concept here is chicken salad, and they do a great job presenting several different kinds served as a scoop, or on a sandwich. You also get a small bowl of soup and a cookie, both excellent. I've been here several times, my only complaint would be that some of the versions are rather bland and need salt and/or tastier mayo. The fruit was a small cup of mostly grapes and maybe two slices strawberries. My husband got the classic chicken salad on wheat bread with nothing other then chicken and mayo and had lettuce and tomatoes upon request. He also got the tomato basil soup which was a cup that wasn't filled to the top so was a small cup.I felt that the scope could have been larger. I was disappointed. read more

To preempt this review, I have never eaten the food at Chicken Salad Chick, and so do not know if the taste deserves one star. From what I've heard, the taste is better than the rating in my review. My review rating is for the service, or lack thereof, that I experienced on a phone call with the staff. As a paranoid pregnant woman, I often call ahead at restaurants where I intend to dine to check on the ingredients of the dish I wish to order. I had a question for an employee at Chicken Salad Chick regarding the pimiento cheese croissant sandwich. I wanted to know if a) the pimiento cheese was pasteurized, and b) if the pimiento cheese mixture was left over from the previous day or prepared fresh for each customer. I called the phone number at the Hurst, TX location and was greeted with an unceremonious "Chicken Salad Chick." No "Hello!" or "How may I help you?" was offered. I respectfully asked the employee on the other line if their pimiento cheese was pasteurized. She replied with a loud and rude, "What?" I repeated my question. She then paused and, in a bewildered and somewhat sarcastic tone, asked me "Pasteurized? What is that?" As I am all for an opportunity to educate others, I was very tempted to launch into a discussion on Louis Pasteur and how he invented the process of pasteurization to sterilize foods, eliminating harmful bacteria and keeping those with low immune systems (like pregnant women) from getting seriously ill. However, I was very hungry, and didn't have the patience to explain all of that over the phone to someone who probably doesn't care, anyways. But I DID make up my mind about eating there. I decided I would not be eating at an establishment where the staff were unfriendly and rude. Also, the fact that she didn't know what pasteurized meant led me to believe that she (and potentially her other staff-mates) also didn't have a firm grasp on correct food-handling processes (which answered my second question, at least). Hopefully after reading this review, those in charge at Chicken Salad Chick in Hurst will educate themselves on food handling and cleanliness (including pasteurization) and will be, in future, better prepared to handle normal customer questions. read more
