We love Chickies and Petes! Packer Avenue and Broad Location is one of my favorite atmospheres for Birds Games. We stopped at the Malvern Location. College games were on and they had a HUGE showing for a Penn State Game. It was great seeing this kind of crowd gather for football at a restaurant. The service wasn't the best...flat soda, slow to take orders, the bartender seemed rushed. I believe it was a very busy night that caused this. I got the chicken parm hoagie and crab fries. The crab fries were amazing and 10/10. 2 melted American cheese cups come with the fries! I loved the shaved parmesan on the chicken parm sub! We would definitely come back! What a great sports bar and restaurant they really got the atmosphere right here. Great circular bar in the middle with all the sporting games of the season on for you to enjoy. The crab fries were as good as they claim and the clam chowder was yummy, just wished they put the stale oyster crackers on the side. We ordered loaded nachos veggie, Veggie pizza, French fries crab seasoning. Then wings, burger. Calamari, Chicken salad and then chicken cheese steak. Salad was very good portion. I have eaten from this place before in another location. I remember it being better. The good - If you are hungry this is your spot. The portion size was literally enough for three or four. I was out of town so I ended up wasting most of it. I ordered the sweet heat wings. They were hot and delicious. No complaints. I ordered the crabby fries. This was a serving for four with two large cheese sauces. The fries would have been good without the seasoning. They were crinkle fries so I wanted to be excited. I wasn't a fan of the cheese sauce. I order the donuts which was another portion for four as well. I ordered on Uber Eats. I was given a time. I got there a bit early, gave them my name at the front and my food was ready for me. If I could give 0 stars on this location, I would. Avoid this specific location and the headache that comes with it at all costs. The can't get the order correct ever. No one (including mangement) knows what end is up which is a real shame and what's worse, do not seem to care. We won't be back nor will we ever recommend this location. For starters, they need someone NEW to take orders who knows what their doing. Period. A complete shame on what COULD BE a great establishment. Management SHOULD have included an appetizer or dessert or both for going back 2x due to THEIR mistake!! Manager was not apologetic (5/25/25) at all which is even more disgusting. I am furious! Service Great Food Great but here is why I can't reccomend this place! I'm ready to pay the bill there is an QR code on the table. Easy enough. You get three choices for a time 23%, 25% and 30%. What??? What happened to 20%? This is phycological extortion! Not only that but once I got an email receipt I also noticed $1.45 Platform fee. You get charged for using the QR code and that is not stated anywhere. I eventually figured out how to do a custom tip of 20% but in the end I feel like the jerk. Nothing went well this evening. It started with the appetizer we ordered, where our server, Julia, returned 15 minutes later to tell us it wasn't available as they were out of it. I can understand 5 minutes, but 15? We had planned to split the lobster nachos and a bowl of mussels. Oh well. Plan B. I can say that the Sicilian sauce for the mussels was very good, with chunks of tomato and garlic, and some delicious olives sprinkled in. The mussels were large and plump, but somewhat undercooked. My dining friend would not eat them when she had 3 in a row that were basically raw. I was luckier, and as I liked the sauce and was hungry, I agreed to eat them and she would order something else. They served a generous size basket of bread for dipping in the sauce, but unfortunately, it was not a good crusty bread. She then ordered the Caesar salad with grilled salmon. In a basically empty restaurant on a Tuesday night, we again waited a very long time for her order to come out of the kitchen. That's not a good sign when you're cooking salmon. We asked the server to check on it and she said they were still cooking the fish. Well, they cooked it and cooked it and cooked it. And the result was tremendously overdone, dry salmon. Again, my friend could not eat that. Who would want to? By this time, the server was notably irritated. She sent the manager over, who did offer another meal. However, by this point, my friend was over it. She had already found 2 things done poorly, and was not looking for a third, so decided to pass on the offer and call it a night. We both felt that while the manager did make an offer to fix the problem, there was no apology and we were made to feel uncomfortable, as though it was our fault that the kitchen screwed up. I felt bad as we were out for her birthday celebration, and this was the place she selected. This was my first time at this location, but I've been to other Chickie's & Pete's before. The menu is interesting, if you can get what they say is on it. But the service was inexcusable. We sat chatting after I finished my dish for about an hour. The dirty dishes were left in front of us the entire time, even though we eventually moved some onto an empty table next to us. There was nobody to be seen to get a refill of water. While I understand the kitchen can have an off night, there's no excuse for the service to be that bad when the restaurant is not at all busy. This is not a location I where I'd want to return. The manager comped the entire bill and removed everything, even the mussels that I did eat. That was very gracious of him and we appreciate the gesture, but we were completely ignored after that. We literally did not see the server again. I had planned to leave her a good tip, as the chef's failures were not hers, but her attitude and behavior and the fact that we never saw her again, then left the table with all those plates for an HOUR, we walked out and left no tip at all. It was a 30 minute drive for me to there, so I can say I will never go back there again. It was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've encountered in a very long time. read more

After a long day of traveling we came here for lunch. 1st the staff was top notch, they graciously changed a TV from poker to NFL Sunday football. Sunday is football day and this is a perfect place to see every game all at once. And my son was craving the crab fries. The crab fries are always a winner. They could've eaten 3 baskets of them. The boys had burgers and my older son got a bowl of chowder. His fav. I got a Cobb salad which was so large with fresh ingredients from the greens to the crumbled blue. I ate it for dinner later as well. I was happy to find something for everyone in my family without going bankrupt. Overall great pub food when you have two hungry teenagers. First time at a sit-in Chickie's & Pete's and it was awesome. The place is pretty big and looks like you could get a pretty big party in. The tables and booths were spread out so you aren't overhearing your neighbors which is nice. Our server was lovely and she offered to turn the heat up for us. My wife was chilly so that was really nice of her. The food was great. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. We had the club and buffalo variants. A little unfortunate that fries aren't included with any handheld entrees but they are famous for their fries. And the amount you get for ~$8 is pretty heavy. My only gripe would be the fries were a bit over seasoned but it wasn't a dealbreaker. My wife said it was "straight bussin for real." read more

I want to thank this C&P location. That sounds strange considering my one star review, but I am actually thankful that I went there this day. We (a 2 top. My wife and myself) arrived a bit before 5:30 on a Saturday evening to a half empty restaurant teeming with servers and were seated promptly. We sat, looking over the menus waiting to be greeted by our server. And waited. And waited. And waited. After well over 15 minutes had passed with no server, and watching all of the servers taking care of the tables surrounding us, I flagged the host that sat us and asked who are server was supposed to be as they had not been by. He went to the host stand, consulted the seating chart, and the other host, and went timidly up to a server who was at another table and stood and stood waiting to speak to her as she was attending to other customers who had just been sat. Watching him just stand there timid was painful. After several more minutes of this we knew that the only way to handle this was to ask to speak to a manager ( trust me - we ARE NOT those people!). This host disappeared to the back for what seemed an excessive amount of time. Still no server, and now no manager. After a few more minutes passed the manager did appear, non chalant, unapologetic, and very condescending to my wife who explained the situation with the emphasis that she is diabetic, had recently taken her medication and would have expected to be greeted and gotten something in a reasonable amount of time. At this point we are over 30 minutes. The manager disappears. We then just knew the rest of the experience was going to be downhill from there. This location has gotten worse in service, food quality, and menu options over the years, so we simply left to find somewhere else for dinner. This led us to a place that we had previously enjoyed, is significantly closer to our home, has a much better menu, prices, and service. Chickie's and Pete's has turned into an overpriced tourist spot known only for French fries and half of the menu options that used to have. So thank you for reintroducing us to a great restaurant that we needed to be reminded about. We will be going there quite a bit more often now instead of to your location. read more

This is a very fancy looking sports bar, but it is just a sports bar. The food is all standard American sports bar stuff, a bit overpriced, and to push their "famous fries" they will not come with the burgers. You will be pushed to buy them separately. Their servings are pretty solid, my buffalo chicken sandwich was packed. But it wasn't anything memorable or special. Service was adequate and the manager checked on us, but I got the feeling of being more something to get done and not a positive experience. It's the only full restaurant burger place in the strip mall and it's convenient to a lot of other places people tend to stay, but no real excitement to return. read more

Long time C&P customer starting with the original bar in Mayfair. Menu has changed but here is what I like and don't based on my last visit in Malvern. Beer is ice cold and frosted glass gets an A+. Fries will always get an A+! Clams casino - not great - the old bay doesn't add to this classic. Cheesesteak - if your going to represent this Philly classic you need to step your game up to a rib-eye with a seeded roll. Mine was really Greasy! Burgers are OK, but nothing there that says I can't wait to come back. Need to offer hot roast beef sandwiches, another Philly staple. I been to multiple Chickie's & Pete's. Found them to be mediocre. You always know what to expect, if you play it safe. The chicken club sandwich at the Malvern location is delicious. I've gone back multiple times for that reason. Crab fries are baseline, you know what to expect. Pizza is surprisingly good. I've been a big fan of Chickie's and Pete's for years and was very excited when the Malvern location opened up! I've gone a few times now and it's usually packed. Overall really fun spot, only downside is how much the prices have gone up for regular bar food. My most recent was by far the best. The food was delish but the customer service was above and beyond. We started with their famous fries while deciding what else to order. When our fries arrive they were a bit over cooked but we didn't mind and didn't say anything. We had eaten about 1/3 of them when the bartender/ server walked by, saw them and immediately ordered us a new basket of fries. She apologized for the food being delivered like that and said that's not the quality of food C&P's would ever serve to a customer. It was a slow night but I was still very impressed by the awareness of the bartender/ server. The new fries arrived fast and were perfect. The food has always been good. My faves are the classic cheesesteak and burgers. Tons of great beer options on tap and bottles. If you're not a beer fan, no worries because there are plenty of other options as well! This C&P's is unique because it also has a betting room attached. It's a cool spot for you to watch games with friends and place bets if that's something you're into. read more

I own a business relatively close to this C&P's, and sometimes will meet up with friends for lunch or dinner, or before axe throwing next door. I have mixed feelings about this location: 1 - It's cold! Especially in the bathrooms, and they don't even have warm water to wash your hands with, so if you're already cold, you're gonna get frost bite if you try to be cleanly here 2 - Clam chowder - AWESOME! 3 - Crab Cakes - SUCK!!! (They don't even taste like crab, but instead tasted like maybe clam cakes? I was surprised at the (low) $28 price tag for 3 crab cakes, although they do not come with any sides (weird!) and when I dug in, I knew exactly why they were not more expensive. They are completely disgusting! Too much breading, seasoning, and tastes like ZERO crab. Grrr! (Then again, I go crabbing often in Wye Narrows, which is supposedly the best crabbing in the country, and we make our own crab cakes fresh and with almost zero fillers, so there's that. My expectations are beyond high. But then again, isn't Chickie's and Pete's supposed to be famous for their crab everythings??? Just take my suggestion and do NOT order the crab cakes! 4 - Atmosphere is nice. Outdoor fire pit is a nice touch / space. 5 - Bar tenders are hit or miss. Some are VERY nice, one or two can be really grouchy and inattentive. 6 - Raw oysters are hit or miss. First time we had them, they were fantastic. Last time, they didn't taste right and were not shucked / cleaned correctly. When we told the bartender about this, he admitted that the person shucking them was not great at it. Ugh. All in all, it's and ok spot for overpriced bar food, drink, and meeting up with friends. But there are other more favorite spots around for sure. read more

Went here for a work happy hour with about seven of us. We were seated pretty quickly and had two servers for our table, which actually caused some confusion more than it was helpful. The first beer I ordered was mixed up with someone else's at the table and neither of us realized it until after we had taken a sip. We each didn't mind what the other ordered, but still would have preferred my original order. There was also a bit of a delay to everything we ordered. For the table, we split two orders of crab fries, calamari, and an order of the Buffalo chicken nachos. The fries and calamari were good. The nachos were just ok. Not bad, but not great. All of the other apps were devoured while there were definitely some nachos left. Overall a decent experience. We ordered the followings: Seafood sauté: not coated with red sauce mostly consists of Mussels and very old and small dry lobster tail. I received ROTTEN blue crabs, so I contaced DD and was offered a full refund. I placed a reorder and called the store where the Manager Stephanie(?) assured me she would make sure the new ones were rotten. She personally guaranteed she would make sure the new order wasn't rotten. Received another batch of ROTTEN crabs. As a crabber, I know a rotten crab, mushy, smelly, slimy. I also know that for $35 for ONLY 3 crabs, they could at least be quality. I'm considering contacting the health department since it's clearly their practice and not an anomaly. read more

Pretty empty when arrived. Wait staff ok in beginning. Ordered a specialty nacho dish for appetizer. Fifteen minutes later came to say they couldn't make it as out of ingredients for it. But could make other nacho dish. By then the main arrived mussels. Spit out the first three. Seriously undercooked. My dinner companion picked through and ate what she could but overall yuk. I ordered a Cesar salad with salmon. The salmon was the size of a Small playing card and the thickness of about three cards stacked. Since it took almost twenty five minutes to get to the table, yep a solid little salmon rock. At this point there for almost an hour and no food. Waitress was clearly annoyed that I would not eat the under cooked or over cooked food. I just politely asked her to take it back and the attitude was palpable. Then the manager came over and was quite annoyed that I would not order something else as it was on him. But my companion was done and it was late and frankly the chef had now had two tries. We were willing to chalk it up to a bad night but the way we were treated after that was epic. We were talking and catching up and ignored for the next hour. The dirty remains of the mussels sat there. No offer for a refill. The waitress came over and said manager took care of bill. We asked what total was to provide a tip and she refused to give it to us. Still clearly annoyed. We did not request the manager take care of the bill at all but appreciated his gesture. Ten minutes later the manager came and said the same thing but the tone was edgy like why are you still here. That's the part that earned them the review.
