I tried the honey garlic and the buldak, they were both delicious I definitely recommend buldak if you like spicy food.

Not as good as the last time we came. Food was good overall but service fell short somewhat…read more Came here with family. We all ordered our own individual dishes. I just had an Original Gimbap and a Vege Gimbap for myself. It was a hot summer's day so I just didn't feel like ordering hot food. Everyone else ordered hot food though. My daughter has been getting into Tonkatsu at Japanese restaurants for awhile now. So when she saw Chicken Katsu on the menu here, she decided to give that a try. It was just OK for her. No comparison to any of the pork Tonkatsu dishes that she's been having at Japanese restaurants. She still ate it all up though and it was a huge portion. Other dishes on the table included Seafood Noodles, Pork Kimchi Stew, Soft Tofu Stew, Fried Chicken, and Kimchi Fried Rice. My one gripe would be that they took a super long time bringing out my daughter's Chicken Katsu. Everyone else had their food for quite awhile but she sat waiting and waiting for her Chicken Katsu. When we asked about it, they said it was coming soon. But that's what they always say when you ask about something that's taking a long time to come, right? Wondering if they actually completely forgot about it and then put in a rush order at the kitchen when we brought it up.

Great little neighbourhood spot for Korean food at lunch…read more I stopped by with coworkers and this place is a solid 4/5. Favorite item was the pork belly with kimchi. It's over fire on a hotplate/pan with the meat all around and kimchi in the middle. Perfect with rice or on it's on. The Japchae had plenty of beef and veggies. The potato noodles weren't overcooked and was a great consistency. The seafood tofu soup was favorful with clams and mussels. The raw beef was too frozen and needed to sit out longer. However, the flavor was still good, but I don't know if I'd order it again. The service was excellent and attentive.

We were quite hungry, and asked for advice regarding sizes, and were advised to order the following for 2: -Pork Tang Su Yuk (Large: 39.00$): Comes served with a thick, syrupy, sweet and sour sauce on the side. The sauce contains some fresh produce such as cabbage and onions, which is quite nice and refreshing, and cuts through the sauce, providing a different flavour in addition to the fried umami of the pork. I appreciate that the sauce comes served on the side, because I like my food CrUnCHy -Ja Jang Myun (Regular: 13.50$): It was tasty, very onion forward (which I LOVE). My only comment was that I was expecting the sauce to have little pieces of pork in it, and I personally did not detect any, which translated to a bit of a superfluous sauce. Afterwards I checked the menu, and it does say that there is minced pork in the sauce, so I'm not sure... This was more than enough food for 2 people (we got leftovers to take home), and I think the perfect amount of food for 3. I appreciate good portion sizes. Additionally, they served yellow radish, and kimchi radish cubes with it, and had vinegar, soy sauce, and red pepper powder at every table. The server was kind, the vibes were quaint, family-owned, "mom and pop" hole in the wall, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

I was pretty sure that my daughter would jump at the chance to have Omurice and I was absolutely right about it! I'm not sure if they normally use any kind of meat or meat broth in their Omurice. It's not listed on the menu, so I inquired about making the dish Vegetarian. The waitress asked if I was OK with egg. Seems like a lot of people don't really understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan. If I were asking for a vegan dish...well there's just no way I could eat the dish as the egg is the "Omu" part of the dish and therefore the main attraction. I got the point across though that I just didn't want any chunks of meat or meat broth used in the dish. (It was my daughter's dish mainly but I wanted to try it, and she's fine with eating vegetarian foods even though she does still eat meat.) It was a really yummy Omurice and I think we may have just found a new favourite of ours on the North Shore! I ordered the same vegetarian Jab Chae Rice that I ordered last time and it was just as good as I remembered it. It really puzzles me though that this dish is listed under the Rice section. It does come with a bowl of white rice but it's a freakin huge platter of noodles and the noodles are really the main star of the dish...not the rice! Grandma ordered the Sam Sun Stir Fried Rice which is supposed to be a Seafood fried rice with vegetables and pork in black bean sauce, topped with a fried egg. She wasn't too impressed with this dish and honestly...I guess I can't really blame her for it. In my last review I wrote that you can't really go wrong with any dish on this menu. I take that back now. I think this is probably the first dish we've tried here that was less than stellar. There was a lot of rice in the dish, and barely any seafood in the rice. The black bean sauce was...nothing to write home about? Other than the underwhelming Sam Sun Stir Fried Rice though, I still give this place a thumbs up and would still highly recommend coming here. Lots of restaurants have hit and miss dishes. This place still serves some great food overall.

We waited about 10 mins for a table on a weekend around 12:30pm. #1- blood sausage and organ soup: you can choose the spice level for this one and we went with mild. Probably could go for medium next time. It came bubbling hot and was served with rice. The soup was flavourful and comforting. The blood sausage was wrapped with an intestine which is something I haven't had before. So this was unique. The organ meats were tender as well. Seafood pancake: on the pricier side but I can see why. It was served piping hot and super crisp. It had plenty of seafood and even glass noodles inside. Again, a unique touch. The pancake was not sought at all and the seafood inside was tender. Banchan: kimchi radish was solid and refreshing. The fishcakes were marinated in something different than other places and was tender. Very delicious! The last banchan I'm not sure what it's called but it's also kind of a pickled onion and veg sort of thing. Overall, a really good meal and I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area and craving something comforting. Service was good and food came out quick.

I had the Kimbap, which is a Korean form of sushi similar to a sushi roll that might have pickled vegetables in it, plus whatever other ingredient you want. I also tried the Tteokbokki, which is an unusual dish that is technically rice cakes, but I would compare it to a bowl with sliced-up hot dogs, gnocchi, and melted cheese in a slightly spicy and slightly sweet broth Service was friendly.

We ordered a set with gimbap, tteokbokki, and noodles. The gimbap was generously stuffed with colorful vegetables and rice, wrapped tightly in seaweed and sliced nicely, fresh, clean flavors, and perfect for sharing. The tteokbokki had that classic sweet-and-spicy sauce, with chewy rice cakes that really hit the spot (comfort food at its best). The noodles were light but surprisingly satisfying, served warm and simply topped, a great balance alongside the richer, spicy dish. Everything came out neatly on a tray, which made it feel casual and fun, like a cozy quick meal you'd come back to often. Overall, Nomnom Seoul is a great spot for an easy, comforting bite with friends. Simple Korean favorites done well, with good portions and a relaxed vibe. I'd happily return again
