One of my favorite breakfast restaurants for biscuits & gravy. :) the service & small town feel here is so welcoming.

We love this place and it has been a favorite in our family for years! Whenever we come back to town all of our children and grandchildren want to eat at Chick's. The food is delicious. The brown gravy it so yummy and you can't leave without eating a scone with butter and honey. The customer service has always been exceptional and we love the atmosphere - everything you would want in a small town café. You won't be disappointed if you eat here. read more

Food was delicious! Especially those scones. My only complaint is that we had barely left our table, paid for our food, realized I'd accidentally left my box of food on the table, turned around and went back in to get my food and they literally just threw it away. I would think if I was that busser/server and your table just barely left and was still in the restaurant paying and there was to go box full of food to maybe check if they still wanted it. It was more than half of my meal. Yes, we shouldn't have forgotten it, but I also don't think it should have been thrown away so quickly. If I was staff and my table had just barely paid and was still in the restaurant or even if they had just barely left, I'd wait at least a few minutes to see if they realized they forgot before throwing away the whole thing of food. read more

I was so looking forward to a small town family diner breakfast. I ordered chicken fried steak with hard fried eggs, hash browns, and toast. I like to make sandwiches with the the ingredients. Seriously yummy....unless it's from here. What arrived was a piece of barely breaded meat that was so tough that I couldn't bite through it. The sandwich had to come apart so I could cut and cut to eat it. It was work and I eventually gave up. My hard fried eggs came runny. Ick The hash browns weren't made there, but are the rectangles you toss unto a toaster. Hubby had bacon and eggs. His came okay, but he was also disappointed with the hash browns. He LOVES homemade hash browns, and was bummed that they were just frozen toasted bits. Sigh We walked out very disappointed. read more

Out of towner here. My family and I wanted to try something new. We were excited to try it but we didn't have the best services. The waitress did not refill any of our drinks. After giving our food she did NOT once check up on us and kept walking away next time we saw her she gave us the bill and walked away. Not only this she kept walking away to the regulars and talk to them. This place is really for locals and regulars. If you are new you are ignored. Yes we are irritated with more the drinks on not bring refilled including water because it's an 100F outside and of course we are thirsty and not one refill. ALSO on top of the not so great service there was hair in my food!! It was disgusting!! This place does have potential but they really need to treat everyone the same and not differently from regulars and news customers. We will not be going back. read more

Good Diner food. There fries are delicious. I got the chicken fried steak special which came with a bowl of soup salad mashed potatoes with your choice of brown or white gravy and the chicken fried steak. I wanted to try the meatloaf but they sold out. Both my kids had a burger. Looked good they ate it all. My wife had the meat breakfast where you get to choose 1 meat. Too big was not able to finish. First time Ordered breakfast at 1 pm It was a busy Saturday afternoon Sat in a comfortable booth Coffee is only $1! We got eggs and sausage that comes with either toast or a scone. We chose the scone. The eggs were just eggs but the sausage patty was insanely awesome. The scone, as you can read in other reviews, is really fry bread but it was good with butter and honey. Service was good. We did wait awhile for our food but I had coffee to drink The restroom (woman's) was large and super clean We will come back just to have that sausage patty again. read more

Let us begin on positive note. The eggs were cooked as requested. I asked for over medium and my husband asked for over easy and that is exactly what we got. The sausage was very good and with excellent maillardization. The side pancake was tough but it had good flavor. Now the negative bits. The scone was really tough and was pretty tasteless. The hash browns were frozen patties that they chopped into bits. I get using frozen hash browns but not the patties...and why chop them? Do they think they could trick us unto believing they were shredded hash browns. Service was lacking. We went into the restaurant, stood there waiting for a table to clear and while servers walked by us, not one said a word to us. A table came available but it was still dirty. We asked the waiter if we could go and sit there, she looked at us like we were aliens, said yeah and proceeded to remove the dirty dishes but did not wipe the table. Good thing the people before us were not too messy. We drive through Heber a lot but I do not think I would be coming here again for breakfast or any other meal. read more

Tonight, Bob and I ate at Chick's Cafe in Heber City. There's plenty of street side parking and additional parking behind the building. That have roomy booths upfront and a dining room in the back. Service was excellent! Our waitress was very friendly and handled the busy cafe with ease. We both ordered from the Senior menu with a choice of soup or salad, choice of three meats, choice of potato, and a scone. I had the delicious Italian chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles. So good! Bob had the fresh green salad with cherry tomatoes, etc. We both had the fried hamburger steak with mashed potatoes with brown gravy, which was exceptionally good. The scones were huge with butter already melted. There was honey if we'd been able to eat them, but we were too full, so got takeout containers to enjoy them later. Yummy scones! Quaint, clean, friendly. Husband's chicken fried steak was, according to him, "Nice and hot, tasted great."

We've been coming here for about 4 years now. It's been going down hill. The scones used to be magical! Now they just aren't even good anymore. if you want a burned and hard fried steak this place is for you. the mashed potato has a foul smell and sour taste. it is just bad. we asked the server and she said it smells like fishy cause they cooked the mashed potato where they cook the halibut fish and chips. GROSS! like how come?? Chicken noodle soup was too spicy! they didn't even tell their customers that they put too much pepper in it. ulk. i don't think we'll be coming here again, it just isn't what it used to be. Came here on Monday for a quick bite for dinner with my s/o and I kinda regret it. There's limited stuff on the di menu and I'm sure if we came here for breakfast it'd be better. My s/o ordered a double cheese burger with fries and I had their roast beef dinner. I guess I've never had real American food other than a good burger and fries, but their roast beef was tough and the food came out sorta lukewarm with a crazy amount of gravy. It was kinda bland tasting too. But their scones are good, for sure. The waitress was nice and her customer service was on point. I think it's just pricey for a 2 person dinner. However, a couple walked in with a dog, acting privileged, never mind that they have a big sign in the window saying no dogs allowed, and proceeded with their elitest attitude to not obey the girl who told them they could not bring in the dog. Some people think the world revolves around them. Wish the staff would have been a little more forceful with them. However, food was delicious, everything you'd want. It's a nice diner. It could be a classic, but the interior looks like it was remolded for a cheap rental apartment. Which is unfortunate, if they tore out all that grey and fake granite for some woodsy country decor it would be perfect. We came for brunch from out of town with some friends on our way up to Sundance. It looked like there were only 2 servers and the place was pretty busy. While our food was very good, service was s-l-o-w. It took like 15 minutes to get our drinks (sodas?) and another 20-25 for our food. I ordered myself the bacon and egg breakfast (w/ a scone) after being denied a bowl of chili (only served at lunch and I asked around 11am?) and my man got the chicken fried steak (w/ a scone). The scones btw, are the size of your face, and apparently all six of us decided to order one (also you should do it too because they were way good and come with honey butter) which made table space pretty limited. The eggs were good, the hashbrowns were good, the bacon and scones were really really good, and the bite of all the other food items I'd had were tasty too. If it weren't for the service I'd definitely give them more stars, but service was definitely lacking which brought them down to a round 3 in my book. Go if you're looking to eat a breakfast feast fit for a king, and don't mind your food with no frills. read more
