Cheese steak with mushrooms, Onions and Cooper sharp.
    Rebecca M.

My husband grew up in Cherry Hill but had never heard of Chick's til we saw a random YouTube video about it (which thankfully warned us it's down a tiny alleyway barely visible from the main road). Somehow after 50 years it's still a hidden gem -- with extremely legit cheesesteaks that stand up to Philly's best! Got mine with mushrooms and fried onions & Cooper sharp and I'm still sad it's gone now!

I wanted a cheesesteak and I was with my Homie Bebo from Camden and he delivered. He said I got a spot and so we went the inside is your local daily, They make cold sandwiches but they're Cheese Steaks is what people come here for and they were delicious. I got the seeded roll. They weren't stingy with the meat either cheese on point melted perfectly. I got the cheese steak hoagie let's just say if you want a cheesecake come get it the inside not too fancy but that's why their so good. It's a local gem. They've been here since 1957 so delicious. Gotta try one.

Absolutely the best cheese steaks in the cherry hill area. Get the sharp provolone and broccoli rabe steak

It's been a few years since my last visit. I've been craving cheesesteaks so it's time to revisit the neighborhood favorite. Construction on Rt 70 means parking in the alley is the easiest access. I am all about bang for the buck in today's economy. This was just under $15 for a cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp and the roll is about a foot long. My sandwich was nice and juicy with the cheese evenly distributed. Flavor was solid. Points off with the meat distribution mostly in the middle and maybe the sandwich could have had a bit more meat. Otherwise, it was a good experience and I'm happy to have this option just a few minutes away from home.

Pork roll chicken breakfast sandwich. Only thing I've ever ordered. The best. Just ones we get at the beach. Can't sit to try buffalo chicken cheesesteak.

NOTE: They will be closed from August 17th to the 24th for vacation. Finally made it to Chick's and luckily I did today because they will be closed for a week starting tomorrow. I ordered an Italian hoagie and it was good but not great. The bread was good but not as fresh as it could be. There was a nice chew to it. There was just enough meats in it but not overflowing the provolone was aged just right. I would go back the next time I'm in town and hopefully they have fresher bread. The service was good.

Co-worker highly suggest the sandwiches here and they did not disappoint. Now I have been told the picture doesn't give justice to the buffalo chicken cheese steak but it was good. My taste is towards more of a softer bread but it kept my sandwich together. Ambience is nothing fancy but if you wanna eat in you can. I'll be dropping by more often to try something different for lunch.

Worst Italian hoagie I ever had! Very bland. Zero flavor. Don't see what all the hype is about.

The last time we were there was when it was still Short Hills Deli, so we were surprised to see how much the interior was changed from the previous deli. We were seated and asked to be moved to a booth instead (no issues there) as the majority of the restaurant are wood tables and chairs. Server came over and took drink orders and answered our questions about the menu with a smile. We knew the sandwiches were HUGE, so we decided to split a sandwich (regular, not oversized). We ordered cheese to be added, but when the sandwich arrived, NO CHEESE. Our server disappeared at that moment, so we asked another server to bring us the missing item. It came cold, which cost this review one star. If the cheese was done right, it would be melted over the corned beef (extra lean, which costs extra). We did enjoy our lunch (sharing is the better option) and paid our bill. As we were leaving, we decided to grab a rye bread and some bagels to go. Young dude at the counter wasn't very friendly, but that didn't bother us. Finally, we did receive a couple of chocolate chip cookies in a bag with our check. They looked delicious, but we still haven't eaten them yet (they're in our refrigerator for another time). We would return again, even though we don't live in Cherry Hill.

Large display cases showing their wares, mirrored wall that doubles its rather long and narrow dining room, and excellent personable service by Jaime, the house Blythe spirit. I went with a bowl of Cabbage Soup (just like grandma used to make) and an odd curiosity called a Hot Dog Knish (kosher garlicky frankfurter held within a large mashed potato knish). I love hot dogs and kvell for good knishes, so why not? Both were totally filling and satisfying, although one end of the sausage was hard as a rock from too much time in the heat, while the rest was fine. Just cut it off and devoured the rest. The difference between four stars and a perfect score. The lunchtime crowd appeared to be mostly single older dudes doing sit down, and older ladies doing takeaway. I guess that was normal there and based on experience with each other because they didn't interact at all, but seemed to recognize one another. And, then there was Jaime, holding the scene together as she greeted, served, cashiered and smiled at everyone. Very adept. But for the distance from Bucks, I could become a regular for Kibitz home cooking. Four idle chatting (kibitzing) Stars for this Yiddish chat room. PS. Why was this review recognized as a "Wrap Review," when no wrap was involved? PPS. Apparently, Kibitz Room closed without advanced notice shortly after I was there. Condolences!

But, I must tell you... Hershel's Corned Beef Reuben was way better than any sandwich I ever had there. The cut of meat is thicker and the portion sizes are huge. My husband thinks he heard the guy say it was three-quarters of a pound of corned beef. I believe it because it definitely felt like there was at least 6 ounces on my half of the sandwich. I'm glad we decided to split it. It was totally worth the price that we paid for it. We arrived around 4:00 pm on a Thursday. It was busy at the market, but not as busy as it was on Saturday. We were tossed between the Reuben and the Rachel. The difference is that the Rachel has cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. I don't think you can go wrong either way. It didn't take long for the order to be ready. The service was great. They split the sandwiches and wrapped them individually. We each got a pickle spear. We didn't have to go too far to find seats. They have bar seating along the back counter that's specifically for their customers. The Reuben was very tasty. I even liked the pickle. I think they have desserts, but we had no room for it. I'd love to return one day to try their pastrami, and maybe even the breakfast. I wish we would have had more time to try one of these sandwiches on Challah bread. The menu has a little something for anyone craving a Jewish style deli experience. It's worth a visit when at Reading Terminal Market.

The meat was moist, tasty, properly salted, with a discernible bark. The amount of cheese, sauerkraut, & dressing accentuated the pastrami, although so much meat would be hard to impact! It needed the long spear to stay together. But yet I could cut & shave & make mini sandwiches. The potato salad was a great refresher. Not too tart, with carrots, celery, & I could taste onion. The pickle was not too acidic. Great crunch. A nice interlude between bites of the sandwich & potato salad. I took my time. It went into overtime. Washing it down with coke. My taste buds won. While I was downtown, I picked up about $92 worth of food, including 1 1/2 pounds of shrimp salad that couldn't be ordered online because, for some reason, the website would not allow it. The very next day, when we went to eat it, something was clearly wrong. The shrimp salad caused a tingling sensation on our tongues, and it was obvious it had gone bad. I called the deli to let them know not just because we couldn't eat it, but because I thought they would want to know if there was a potential issue with the batch. Instead of receiving an apology or any concern, I was met with a dismissive response of, "Oh, that's weird," and the conversation felt condescending. I explained that I couldn't bring the shrimp salad back because I'm leaving town and my mother has limited mobility. I wasn't asking for a refund on our entire order. I simply asked if they could issue a gift card or store credit for the shrimp salad so my mother could use it on a future visit. Every possible solution I suggested was met with an excuse as to why it couldn't be done. The spoiled food was disappointing, but the lack of empathy and customer service was worse. Loyal customers deserve to be treated with respect when they raise a legitimate concern. After years of supporting 4th Street Deli, this experience has unfortunately convinced us that it will be our last visit. I'm reading they have new owners, so maybe it's not the same amazing management we are used to.
