O.m.g Finally a steak that lives up to the hype. Have been reading about the best steaks in south jersey and have been trying out all of the recommendations (see others reviews)... this one i have to say might be my fav cheesesteak in the country even.... again i feel like this is one type of food that no two individuals can agree based on what you prefer (bread, meat, sloppiness, cheese)... very few places have a good combo of all of my criteria and dont overpower the sandwich by just adding more meat. Bread and ratio of cheese/meat was perfect. You can tell as soon as you walk in that The place means business and that there is quality control. I felt a bit out of place as they knew all of the customers (good sign to indicate a good place). They were patient with me as i made my order and i could see them making it!!! I have enjoyed quite a few sandwiches here and have always left both full and satisfied. Chick's can be a bit hard to find if you're driving down Rt 70. It sits in it's own strip mall located behind another row of stores facing the highway but can be accessed via Virginia Ave. It isn't the easiest to locate, but once you find it, you are guaranteed to be a return customer. You can order through the Yelp app to pickup (or deliver, powered by GrubHub!). Highly recommend ordering in advance because they can get super busy. They use Liscio's bakery rolls for the sandwiches, which is kind of like Del Buono's or Amoroso - possibly even better! My usual staple is a cheesesteak with fried onions - you can't go wrong! Get ready for a great cheese steak. The meet is finely chopped, they had the right toppings, and it tasted awesome. I grew up in this area and when I came back to visit, I went to chick's.. I called ahead so when I walked in they asked if I need help right away. That's good customer service. I was in and out just like I should. I've done my fair share of looking for the best "Philly cheesesteak" and honestly, I think the cheesesteak from Chick's is better than any of the philly cheesesteaks I've had in the city. This place is a pretty "hole in the wall" type place, and I've only heard about it from a friend. But their cheesesteak has definitely taken my #1 spot on my list! Wow just wow. These cheese steaks were so good!! My sister searched Yelp for lunch spots after we visited the chocolate factory for Easter goodies, and I'm glad she decided on this little spot to get food. It was our first time going here so we didn't know what to expect but we were pleased once we sat down and digging in. It's a small place with an even smaller parking lot but luckily we got a parking spot right out front! Went in and it was so crowded and smelled delicious in there. The noise level was okay even though there were tons of people standing around waiting to find seats and getting their orders taken. So you go up to the counter to order your food and try and sit where there is any empty seats. It's seat yourself and after you eat you pay then. Our group of 8 got a table in the back which to our surprise just opened up! I was told they are known for their chicken cheesesteak but me and my daughter like regular cheesesteaks and since we were sharing we got that. The sandwich was so yummy and I would know this by the reaction my daughter had. She's a picky eater at 7 years old and when I looked over at her she gave me 2 thumbs way up and finished the whole half of the cheesesteak! She rarely finishes any of her food! Everyone at the table was silent and chomping on their food. After we finished everyone was raving about how delicious the food was and how this spot would be one we would come back to if we were ever in the area again. Among the many establishments in South Jersey doing cheesesteaks, Chick's was one of the places that came up as a recurring must-try. While I'm not the biggest fan of cheesesteaks (tasty, just not my first choice), I felt obligated to check them out due to the proximity and good reviews...I wasn't disappointed! Not a huge place, nor an extensive menu, but what I've had has been solid. Chick's uses the SoJo favorite Liscio's for their bread. I decided to try one breakfast item and then a cheesesteak the following day. I got the favorite pork roll egg and cheese (pepper jack) on a Kaiser for breakfast. Perfect proportions for each component of the sandwich and everything was cooked perfectly. Egg was cooked just to set (not runny) and wasn't too heavy on cheese. One of the "neater" PEC sandwiches I've had. The following day I went back to try one of their Buffalo Chicken steaks. I ordered mine with pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and no lettuce or tomato. The chicken was finely chopped but not too fine, the perfect vehicle for the melted pepper jack cheese, and what I could guess was a light dressing of ranch. I'm not a big ranch fan, but the light dressing complimented the sandwich as a whole nicely, and the bits of blue cheese within added the perfect bit of buffalo flare the sandwich needed. Other than wanting just slightly more meat, I have zero complaints about the steak! Overall, between the solid sandwiches and friendly staff, I can safe,y say I will be back to Chick's soon. A very good deli. I had no idea it was there forever. It's tucked into an alley just off 70. I've been twice now and I'll be back for more. I've gotten a couple of breakfast sandwiches and a club sandwich. The first breakfast sandwich I got was a bit too salty for my taste. I was a little surprised how salty it was. I wanted to go back and see if it was a fluke. The second time I got one (and this time added long hots and broccoli rabe) it was much better and adding the greens was a really good addition. They serve breakfast sandwiches on Kaiser rolls, which isn't typically my thing, but the bread is good. The turkey club was good, they used deli meat rather than sliced turkey (I hate when places put sliced turkey on a club, it's always so dry). So they told me there's a dope cheesesteak place in Cherry Hill! Well, I use to live in cherry hill before I moved to the DMV and I never had a great cheesesteak in CH. So when I found myself having a meeting around the corner, I decided it was finally time to check out this phenomenon that's occurred in the last 6 years while I've been gone. I found this cheesesteak very flavorful and the size about average. The price was a little hefty, but it's Cherry Hill. I'm sure they are paying a lot to be in this area. The staff was so attentive and accommodating when I asked to have the cheesesteak sandwich cooked right before they closed. I picked up my cheesesteak and took it all the way back to Maryland. We drove from Florida to New Jersey (we are moving there over the summer) and stayed for a week and being so close to Philly we decided to look for a Cheesesteak spot... well as per usual, Yelp NEVER disappoints, we looked for the best rated place and we found Chicks! We walked in and the staff was suuuper friendly and welcoming, place was clean and all their food looked fresh. We were a group of 8, after we ordered (due to covid) they stated they would bring our food out to our car where we decided to eat... I had their cheesesteak (10*!) with Mayo, provolone, mushrooms and fried onions and ohhhheeemmgeeeee, it was hot and goooey BUT NOT soggy (i HATE soggy bread) the bread was perfect! The sandwich was huuuge (and i can eat) so i had half and saved the other for dinner, the rest of our party had variations of their cheesesteak toppings (all 10*)... one of my daughters had their Chicken noodle soup (4 3/4*) The soup was fantastic and we docked it a little due to the soup being more warm than hot and had a little too much pepper but as we said still FANTASTIC, my other daughter had their BLT and absolutely LOOVED IT (5*) the bacon was crispy, the lettuce and tomato was fresh and the toast was toasty... I'm new back to cheesesteaks after 3 years of veggie life and one thing I missed while gone was the taste of a cheesesteak. Whenever my bf and I think about ordering steak sandwiches, it's usually outside of the hours of Chick's so it took about 9 months since I started eating meat again to get around to trying from a place that was once named "the best Cheesesteak in Philadelphia". I ordered a cheesesteak with provolone cheese, fried onions and mushrooms. OMG. SOOO GOOD! it was delicious! I try to judge a sandwich before I add my own condiments and eating it as it was prepared was delicious and totally is something I recommend. (I still add my own stuff when I get home because I just do). I had a bite of my bf's buffalo chicken cheesesteak and it was legit, and I really appreciated the amount of bleu cheese added. Very well done. The location may be hard to find if you aren't familiar with the area. It's in this tiny alley behind a strip mall on Rt 70, I never knew that street was there. In terms of Covid precautions, there is one door for entering and one for exiting. Tape is on the ground so you know the spacing and they will bring the food out to your car after you order so you aren't standing around in the limited space. Their cheesesteaks are one of the best anywhere. We order our company lunches from Chicks and they also have a special "pack to travel" convenience for when I am flying to see friends out of state and I want to pack cheesesteaks to go with me on the plane. I have lived in Cherry Hill all of my life and driven by this alley way a thousand times but never have I been to Chick's. I went there on a recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed. I don't eat a lot of cheese steaks these days but every so often, I get the hankering for one. I used to think Jim's on South Street was pretty good and The Boyz also here in Cherry Hill, but Chick's has one of the best Cheese steaks I have ever had. The bun was fresh and perfect. The meat seasoned and cooked just right and not dry at all. Wow! Chicks is behind the old Erlton row of shops on route 70. It can't be seen from the highway so you need to know where it is. I really want to start this review with: "Sandwiched between Route 70 and a residential neighborhood..." although I'm *sure* someone has already thought of that line. ...But I just can't think of a more original opening. The deli IS ... sandwiched ... between the quick divorce place on Route 70 and a bunch of single family homes. If you're heading west, keep a lookout for a small Virginia Ave. sign. Make a right there. Then quickly look for a road (almost resembling a driveway) so old that it's turning white. That's where you turn left for Chick's. It'll be several yards up on your right from there. Parking is pretty tight. Angled. Inside, it's fairly small, but there are seats if you want to eat in. Two cash registers. Very nice people working. The person who rang me up gave me a menu for my next visit, which will be quite handy. I noted that they have chicken salad! (Aka: The only thing that ever matters in my world.) My first order was pretty standard, but fantastic: a cheesesteak and an Italian hoagie. I had half of each for dinner. Both were top-notch and clearly made with quality meats and cheeses. Other reviewers aren't joking about the cheesesteak. It's deserving of its reputation. The only pain in the whole navigation experience was heading back out to Route 70, but I suppose that would depend on other drivers. I just hit a crop of rude ones who wouldn't let me make my left. This place is pretty clutch. I found out about this place from another foodie. I have to check this out for myself. Hearing a lot of noise surrounding their cheesesteaks I was tempted to try. I stopped in one afternoon grabbed a cheese steak onions mayonnaise the usual. Also an Italian hoagie. The hoagie was pretty decent usually I don't order Italian hoagies. I wanted to give this a shot, may not be the best that I've had but was very solid. Now the cheesesteak was on a delicious roll soft still soaking up the juices from the steak. Once again a solid option here. I won't go that's crazy ass some say that this is the best cheesesteak by far however the buffalo style chicken cheesesteak is the true champion here. Just thinking about is making my mouth water at 1:30 AM lol. Packed with the kick of spice and heat the chicken cheesesteak feels less guilty eating than the regular cheesesteak and if you want to switch things up and add a little tang that's a great choice to make.
