My favorite spot for a chicken sandwich and customer service is always on point at both locations.

Very heavy breading. Rolled in dry cayenne powder. Hot, but not seasoned. One star for nice toasted brioche bun.

TLDR: Excellent fried chicken wings with a little spicy…read morekick. Come for the wings, to go, and try to stay out of the bag while you drive. Good luck! The rest of the story: My first experience with the Blue Store was at the location closest to Southern University and the wings were nothing short of amazing! This location has the same succulent, crispy wings that I fell in love with. They have thighs and breasts too, listed on the menu as "other parts". The fries and potato logs are decent and serve as menu filler, in my estimation. The star is the chicken. This is not the place you come with a larger group to sit down and have a meal. There's no space for all that. Step up to the counter. Ogle the delicious chicken posing in the window of the heat tray, tell the cashier how many wings or "other parts" you want, add some sides if you need some filler and then wait a very short minute while they hand your order to you, tantalizingly hot and tasty. If you're like me, with eyes bigger than your stomach, never fear! Pop these wings in the oven for a few mins the next day and they crisp right up and that flavor is still on-point! This one goes straight to the top of the list of favorites!

The crawfish pie was amazing and filled with crawfish and the holy Trinity. I could taste crawfish with every bite. The crawfish boudin was also good, and seasoned well, but I didn't really notice crawfish when I bit into it. The potato was alright, but too potato-y in the end for me. I think I would just stick with the wings, crawfish pie, and crawfish boudin next time. The food is delicious and prices are cheap. Fast service.

I got here around 1pm and it seem like the lunch rush has died down a bit. I was greeted with the…read moregood ole warm hospitality and the mouthwatering smell of fresh fried chicken. I knew full well to come right when they open or around lunch time because that's when I knew they were frying up fresh batches of chicken. My Cajun fries was fresh and flavored nicely. Cajun Rice was moist and had a good kick of spice to it. The fried chicken aka the main attraction was perfectly crispy, nicely seasoned and juicy. However the thigh pieces (dark meat) was on the small side but the skin was nice and large. The service was amazing. The employee of the month saw that the customer in front off was taking a while so she hopped on the register to take my order. She even gave me a free small drink because she assumed that my friend and I were sharing. After 10 minutes, my food came out. She offered all the condiments and had a great attitude / smile. I was very satisfied today.

I love their frozen lemonades which come in various flavors throughout the year. Not matter if it's the mango one or the strawberry it's a 10/10. The service is fast and nice. I always go through the drive through so I've never been inside to see how the ambiance is. One thing for sure, I know I will be back.

Based on a recommendation from a neighbor I decide to stop by this establishment to pick up lunch…read moretoday. It was after 1:15 pm and there where no other customers as I arrived, although 4 came while I was waiting for my meal. I decided to opt for chicken tenders and the shrimp fried rice, again both were recommended by a neighbor. The chicken tenders were among the smallest chicken tenders I've ever gotten (see photo). Also I appreciate the fact that it wasn't loaded with tons of breading as some of the convenience store frozen chicken tenders are, but they were overcooked, dry, and absolutely bland with practically no seasoning or flavor. I'm on a salt restricted diet so I appreciate a place that isn't heavy-handed with the salt, but you don't have to use tons of salt to season food well. This tasted like they literally dredged it in flour and fried it with no seasoning at all...and THEN overcooked it. So between the size of the chicken tenders, the coating and bad execution in the fry hamper - sadly I have to say these are among the worst chicken tenders I've had anywhere. Now as for the fried rice, I was less disappointed with that. They gave you a pretty good size of fried rice for $4.50 and although the shrimp were itsy bitsy tiny there were enough that you could see them in the fried rice along with some carrots and fried egg. But again, seasoning was somewhat lacking - and - as tends to be true with a lot of places that make fried rice it was a little on the greasy side. Better outcome on the fried rice than the chicken tenders (which was a complete fail), but I'm not sure I'll try this particular establishment again based on this disappointment.

Lots of the Holy Trinity plus garlic and sausage or some other pork/smoked turkey is how red beans should be cooked. Will never order red beans from here again!
