Took my family of 6 to pizza. Grew up on the peninsula and remember it being amazing. After spending 90 bucks on a salad, a couple drinks and 3 pizzas the guy behind the counter wanted me to pay extra for ranch when I already paid for the salad. Then wanted me to pay extra for a to-go pizza box. Only 3 people of the 7 that were working even had work shirts on. That's sooooo tacky. Probably NOT a smooth business move to have dirty employees. Amazing pizza. Has the thin bubbly crust like Shakeys back in the day. Excellent homemade toppings. And the staff is so friendly and happy to be there. The owner must treat them great. They were so busy during the Rod Run and had ran out of stuff, but they were still happy to have us and even let us stay past closing. They were the last restaurant open. It's amazing with how busy the town was during Rod run why the other restaurants didn't stay open a little later like chicos! Thanks chicos for being open, friendly and serving great food! First off this place is expensive. $28 for a large pizza. The pizza was not impressive at all. We had more than half left and we ended up throwing it out. We got a pepperoni with olives and mushrooms. They used canned mushrooms and they were almost sour tasting. We picked off the mushrooms and something about the pizza was still off and sour tasting. So, I'm reading the other reviews here, and you guys that keep calling the pepperoni salami need to get out more. Pepperoni comes in different sizes. If this is the "best pizza in town" it HAS to be because it's the only pizza in town. First off, no water? Who doesn't have water? Second, the salad bar was out of everything but lettuce, carrots and dressing. Third, no one was wearing gloves. All of that is forgivable if the pizza was good, AT ALL. The crust is thin and dense with no flavor, canned ingredients, weird greasy fake cheese, akin to frozen Tostino's pizza...left out for a week...and barfed on. And this is from someone who still loves Little Ceasar's. Do yourself a favor, go to Sid's, buy a frozen pizza, throw it in the dirt and eat that instead. read more

This place has all the looks of a great pizza parlor, square boxes stacked to the ceiling, good beers on tap, large pizza ovens. The only problem is, there is no REAL pizza to be found here! Unless you like frozen pizza with bisquick crust, bland sauce and tons of fatty cheese, some of it yellow, then just go buy one from a gas station, you'll save about 20 bucks! Had a pizza from Chico's Pizza last night and it was great. Yep, very similar to the Old Shakeys or Pietro's Pizza as far as the crust goes. We ordered take out pepperoni and black olive and the toppings were ample and delicious. Order was done quickly and the service was fast and friendly. My husband insists on going to Chico's everytime we go the beach, and we now have a house at the beach, so we go quite often! We have been Chico fans forever. The pizza is consistant, always the same, you know just what you are going to get. The light thin crust is crisp, the sauce just spicey enough and lots of toppings. We called ahead on Saturday evening, 2/10/20, for takeout. Not only did they not understand the order, pepperoni olives & pineapple with Canadian bacon on half. Then we were told they didn't know how to do that, and then it became I have to rewrite the order. We walked in and the line was quite long. We had allowed enough time to complete the order. Nope. Was not even in the oven. Maybe it was because the guy on the phone put us on hold to take all the orders that were in line, no hold button, he set the phone down and we heard all the conversations. Very understaffed. No one wearing gloves and no hair nets. Floor in the kitchen was a mess. When the pizza came out there was no olives or pineapple, Canadian bacon on the entire pizza. So he wasn't lying, they really don't know how to make a pizza. 14" pizza and we were charged for all the toppings, $30. A bit much considering. We usually enjoy their food but this time they failed miserably. Do not call ahead, order in person. Staff was too busy to notice the order was wrong and then when I brought it up they offered nothing to make it right or give me the difference in missed toppings. I'm not upset, just a little floored by the lack of customer service. In a small community that thrives on tourism you'd think customer service would be of the utmost priority. Guess not. Ugh. Don't go here if you're hanging out at the beach. This place has dirty tap lines, wouldn't serve alcohol to my 21 year old step-son because his license is vertical (not sure what that has to do with anything), and gave him crap when he went up to get our pizza without the slip. I didn't think it was possible to make bad pizza but this place has done the job. We ordered to go, got home and one of the pizzas was literally thrown in the box and no we didn't do it our selfs. The other pizza was a taco pizza and they put tomatoes the size you would put on a hamburger on top of the pizza slices - (advice -you should have used bite size /diced tomatoes) definitely won't be back and the price for it was way to expensive! read more

Good crust, good hot wings. They charge for bottled water (no cups - yes, I am serious) and styro containers for leftovers. They'll give you some foil for free. Bathroom in need of a good cleaning and update. But for this small town, you get what you pay for. read more

Tasted like frozen pizza. You have to pay for water. The olives in the salad bar and on the pizza were borderline spoiled. But, the service was even worse! I wanted a beer, and she told me that I had to go to a separate counter to order alcohol. I went to the other counter and waited. And waited. We were the only customers in the whole place! 4 employees saw me waiting and none of them acknowledged me! After 5 min of waiting, I gave up. I ordered the pizza that had all the toppings and all I could taste was the overwhelming taste of oregano in their sauce and their super greasy but rubbery cheddar cheese that smoother on top so you can't see the lack of other ingredients below it....and who in their right mind uses CANNED mushy rubbery mushrooms on a good pizza!? We started.going to Chicos when my children were little over 20 years ago. I whenever we visited Long Beach we went to Chicos. On August 2, we went in for pizza around 2 pm. There were 3 girls working, there were several tables that needed cleaned, there was so much cornmeal and dough on the floor it was attracting flies, the salad was brown, and we had to ask for fresh, there was dressing on spoons, empty containers, and dressing and salad fixings spilled on the bar..I wanted to tell the owner but couldn't find a way to get ahold of him. Absolutely the worst customer service on the beach...disrespectful rude and flat out unacceptable as far as service goes...you have better luck calling your order in and taking it home, even then your still dealing with people that obviously are too miserable to smile let alone be courteous and helpful...seems like theres no perks to going all the way down there with your families except you might get a good pizza depending on who's working and what kind of moods they are in at that moment...no point in going to management to voice concerns, it's never their faults you get bad service it's your own for even bothering them in the first place...I say chance your luck anywhere but here.. read more

PRO - Pizza was hot and good. Had a medium combo for a spendy $25 and when you add a $5 one time through salad bar and drinks, it's get a bit much. The BIG CON for me was the bathroom, no toilet paper in the paper holder, just loose wrapped toilet paper on the back of the tank. Then no hand soap in the dispenser, it was in a Sriracha squeeze bottle, really? Finally the paper for the paper hand towels was not in the dispenser either! The giant roll was just sitting on counter top!!! Are you folks proud of this? Doesn't say a lot for impressing people with the bare minimum expected. If your holders/dispensers don't work, there is a Cash & Carry in Warrenton to get new ones. It certainly doesn't show well for a perspective buyer!!! read more

We were looking forward to going to Chico's Pizza Parlor for six months on our vacation to Long Beach. For an appetizer, we got the garlic breadsticks with ranch and marinara sauce. We had the salad bar as well. Both were very good. We ordered the jumbo pizza 1/2 Hawaiian and 1/2 Combination (Sausage, Pepperoni, Olives, and Mushrooms). It was extremely delicious and did not disappoint. The restaurant was very crowded, but the service was very fast and prices were very reasonable. I give this restaurant five stars and would highly recommend. read more

Really good pizza. Thin crunchy crust similar to Pietros Pizza. We had a medium sized pepperoni, pineapple and Canadian bacon, which was plenty for 2 adults and a three year old. Well priced wine and micro brews. A great place for kids, large groups or anyone who just wants a good pizza after a long day in the surf. read more

The tables by the area where you order are carved up and graffiti'ed over which gives them the appearance of being filthy. Head for a booth instead. We visit the Long Beach area regularly but hadn't been to Chico's in some time due to gluten restrictions. We returned today and discovered they do have a 10" gluten free crust and a 12" cauliflower crust. The main woman who is there is very knowledgeable and helpful and provides excellent service. The young girl who may be training is quite snotty and rude! We wouldn't return if she was there.. other than her incredibly awful service, we enjoyed the food! Hopefully this will be able to become a regular stop. read more

Agree re: low quality toppings, including canned mushrooms. Salad bar was filthy (so we avoided it) and we had to wipe/clean our own tables. I actually thought the crust was pretty good, but they overdid the cheese (maybe to hide the mushrooms). Most importantly, 11 out of 14 people in our party were suffering from a SEVERE case of food poisoning 8 hours after our dinner at Chico's. read more

We have friends who love this place. Maybe because they know the owners. Whatever the reason, we went with them last night. Only because I didn't want to embarrass them, was I able to keep my temper when I was told that I couldn't get a glass of water. WATER. They have cups, glasses, and ice, and I hope a faucet somewhere. But no, I had to choose between bottled for .99 or a soda at 1.39 'with free refills!'. I don't drink soda or beer, or wine coolers (really?) though a hard cider would have been a good choice (wine options sucked). No cider. My husband opted for soda, I chose nothing. My friend talked to them about it and came back with a bottle of water for me, along with some lame story about the water dispenser quit working and the pepsi vendor talked them into the bottles. But of course - when you can make a 400% profit on a bottle of water along with about a 1000% profit on the soda why wouldn't you? But this is supposed to be about the pizza. If you're feeling lucky, no, just skip it. In the six or so times we've been there in nine years - we live locally - only once was the pizza any good. They use almost no sauce, some odd mixture of cheddar and mozzarella and everything seems to come out of a can. Oh, and a salad bar - great if you're into the '70s I suppose, but ewww. For a big old fashioned pizza parlor I rarely see many people in there either when we drive by, or on the few times we've visited. And never have I seen a salad on anyone's styrofoam plate. Not sure why they even bother with that part - it always looks gross. Reading through the other reviews I think I know why the tables are never bussed - so as to give the impression that lots of people were there and they just didn't have time. I think the cleanup happens only at closing, what little there is. And a word to the wise - avoid the rest room at all cost. So as to end this on an up note - I never have to go there again. Basically Olive garden bread sticks. That's a good thing! Had pretty good pizza, better than all the chains for sure. They are good sized pies and not super spendy for a tourist town. Would definitely get their food again! read more
