All the local Chicagoland lumber yards charged an arm and a leg for wood slabs and they weren't helpful at all. I made several calls and was directed towards Creative log and lumber up in Twin Lakes, WI. From the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be a positive experience. The owner Bob was incredibly friendly and passionate about his work. Jim and Scott helped me with all my questions and concerns. They were incredibly patient and knowledgeable. They guided me through every step of the way. The wood pricing was outstanding compared to other lumber yards. The guys found a walnut log big enough for my bar top (it happened to be a 175 year old tree that someone had taken down in their yard in Delavan Wisconsin and was repurposed for a bar top! talk about a conversation piece!) As the slab dried they helped me find additional wood for the face of the bar and quickly cut it to the exact dimensions needed. Lastly, they made a home delivery with the countertop and did an outstanding job with the install! I couldn't be happier with my experience and would rate 10 stars if I could!

I took the clock to Michael, and he suggested a $120 oil and clean, which is quite reasonable if you know the price of maintenance on clocks. He repaired and cleaned the movement, but also cleaned up the exterior. It looks new! When I went to pick up the clock, he even brought it to the car for me and provided towels to keep it from getting scratched. This is a terrific family run business, and I will be back!
