First time visit. Clean. Brightly lit. Friendly and helpful suggestions choosing a Chinese-Peruvian dish unfamiliar to me. I ordered Tallarin & Tipakay from the lunch menu--this is Peruvian Stir-fried Rice & Sesame Sweet and Sour Chicken (like General Tso's Chicken). Three complimentary sauces were provided including hot chili sauce. The entire meal needed to be spiced up a notch, and so I used all three sauces. For an uplift charge I ordered a bottled Peruvian fruit drink--Maracuya. No ingredient label. I would get it again, and it's a better choice than soda. Nicely complements the food. Lunch and dinner. Closed on Tuesday. No alcohol. Private parking. Kinda tucked out of the way in the corner of a strip mall off S Mount Juliet Road and Stewarts Ferry Pike Alert: 3% credit card surcharge; fully disclosed. This place just opened a few weeks ago and it looked interesting. I learned "Chifa" is Chinese Peruvian Fusion food. It's not your traditional Chinese food but the dishes we tried today were very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and the food came out in about 15 minutes. They have a lunch menu aside from the main entrees. These are the different styles of dishes they have... ( Chaufa- Fried Rice )( Tallarin- Stir Noodles )( Salados - Savory Dishes )( Dulces- Sweet Dishes) Chef's Specials, Appetizers, Hot Soups and a few Deserts. Decided to check this place out due to it being a new concept for our taste pallets. Personally, I have never had Peruvian Chinese Wok. The service was attentive and sweet. When we walked in they had a 45 minute wait but felt like we only had to wait for 30 minutes for our food. We ordered Chicharron de Pollo, Lemonkay, Lomo Saltado, Sopa Ya-Chau and Maracuya. They instantly brought us over our drinks. To my surprise they were in a shot glass. The serving size was extremely small for four dollars and some change. The drink itself was delicious but wish I had more. Soon after all our food started coming in. My favorite of them all was the Lomo Saltado. I enjoyed it so much because it was the one with the most flavor. It was hearty and filling. Everything else we received was good, but not great. The rest of the food needed more flavor, more seasoning perhaps. This place has just opened and we're planning on making the trek back in a couple of months to see if anything changes. read more

Visiting the Nashville area, or driving through I-40. This is a must stop at location! In our 3 years in the Bay Area which is immersed in Asian food culture, we sadly never had an option for Chifa. Chifa is a Peruvian version of Chinese food. Peru may not be in Asia, however this is a HUGE cultural cuisine in Peru and incredibly authentic. We tried many Chifa's in Peru but none hit like in Chinatown Lima. This IS the SPOT. Chifa Ya Chau reminds us of exactly Chinatown flavors. Opening Day, and they did great! This restaurant is fantastic, and unlike anything else in Mt. Juliet. Very clean (it's brand new), plenty of seating and a whole host of food you've probably never heard of! It's located on the end of the strip mall, giving them a drive-thru and plenty of parking. I stopped in for lunch and had no problems. You can either order at the counter or sit at a table and a server will be by (this was somewhat confusing as the only sign is "Order Here"). I had the Chaufa and Chijaukay lunch combo with an egg roll. The Chaufa is a lightly fried rice similar to the Chinese version but a different flavor profile. The Chijaukay is super crispy fried chicken chunks smothered (not coated) in a sticky/sweet soy-based glaze. The egg rolls on their own are great, but the tamarind dipping sauce elevates them to a whole new level. It's familiar food prepared in an unfamiliar way, and it was absolutely delicious! Really loving this new spot! Once you figure out the menu (which they are tweaking) and find what you like, they crush it! We've order take out twice in the last week and couldn't be happier. The NaiNai bowl is fantastic, the soups rule, and the egg rolls are some of the best I've had. Their take-out packaging is also top notch which makes for a great experience at home. read more

The food and service here was fantastic. We were sat right away and the gentleman working brought us shots of different Peruvian juices which were delicious I guess in place of a bread service. We then ordered the Tipakay with Fried Rice and the Tallarin Calisco. Both were served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The gentleman then brought us different in house made sauces and a in house chili oil we could pair our dishes with. It just added even more flavor. For as much as people complain about chains, this place is original, delicious, and has amazing service. I'm so glad to support them going forward! read more

Been meaning to write this review for a while. We stopped in here apparently about 15-20 minutes before close one night because I was so hungry, we were on the way home and looking for take out. The owner ended up being the one to greet us at the counter and told us all about the history of Peruvian/Chinese fusion since it was our first time there and we'd never heard of that mix. He was so sweet and offered an option to accommodate my food sensitivities. The food was AH-mazing. And the service/friendliness/accommodation? 10 stars. Nice job! Thank you! read more

This was our first visit to this Chinese Peruvian Fusion restaurant. We ordered the Papala Huancaina, a potato dish with sauce called Huancaina, basically it was a light yellow creamy sauce which complimented the potato slices so well. For our entrees we ordered the Tallarin Classico with veggies. You can choose your level of heat with each entree. This dish was ordered extra hot and it did not disappoint. This is a this pasta dish with mushrooms red onion, bell peppers slices, and other very fresh ingredients. The other entree was Sopa Fuchifu, which an egg drop soup served in a 40 ounce bowl!!! I ordered it with a heat level of 7. The flavors of both entrees did not disappoint!!! They were so delicious. We were going to order one of the Peruvian desserts, but we could finish half of our entrees. Every dish is made to order fresh!!! So remember this takes time. They also have a lunch menu until 3. We are definitely coming back to try other dishes on their extensive menu. read more

I haven't had any exposure to authentic Chifa but what we had here was good! Clean, open space dining room, and excellent service! The menus come with a little card that explains what each of the basic food categories is and is really helpful. If you're looking for standard Chinese fare, this is not the place. The restaurant is a true fusion and extremely pleasant experience. I'm very sensitive to textures so the meats weren't really for me but there were a lot of veggies in the dishes so I'm certain I'd be equally pleased with just the veggie-based preparations. We had chicken tipakay (like a less sweet, less breaded version of general tso's), chicken tallarin samsi (mild, lo mein with chive omelet), and eggrolls. The two sauces that came with the tipakay were ridiculously good and complemented the dish amazingly well. The egg rolls were different but really good- especially with the tamarindo sauce. They even came with two complimentary crispy wontons that were quite good. The waitress also brought sample sips of two Peruvian drinks that were extremely tasty! We took home plenty of leftovers and picked up one of the passion fruit drinks (the one in square bottle is the one you get in the sip cup). It is not inexpensive but it was a great experience and we loved how things weren't as sweet and heavy as traditional Chinese dishes can sometimes be. We will definitely be back. read more

I've only ordered takeout, so I can't comment on the dining experience. The food is great; tastes fresh and well-seasoned. I've tried the fried rice with shrimp, the chicken combination dish, the steak noodle dish they say is like lo mein, fried wonton, and the sweet plantains. The fried wonton are super crispy, but very little meat. I'm not big on sauces, but the condiment side sauces were good as well. read more

I said I would come back and try this place again. The first time I visited was the opening day. At that visit the service was very slow. We had to wait almost an hour after ordering to be served our food and it took an additional 15 minutes more for my food to be served after my wife received hers. Today, the service was MUCH better. We were seated right away and it took only 10minutes to be served after ordering. Just like before the food was very good. There is one other improvement I noticed. Descriptions have been added to the menu so that those unfamiliar with Peruvian-Chinese cuisine can more easily decide between the different selections. I will definitely be back. read more
