    Appetizer- Egg Rolls with a Tamarind Suace. ( 7.5 / 10 )
    Mike R.

This place just opened a few weeks ago and it looked interesting. I learned "Chifa" is Chinese Peruvian Fusion food. It's not your traditional Chinese food but the dishes we tried today were very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and the food came out in about 15 minutes. They have a lunch menu aside from the main entrees. These are the different styles of dishes they have... ( Chaufa- Fried Rice )( Tallarin- Stir Noodles )( Salados - Savory Dishes )( Dulces- Sweet Dishes) Chef's Specials, Appetizers, Hot Soups and a few Deserts. They have a few outdoor tables along with plenty of free parking. This is definitely a good spot to go to of you're in Mt. Juliet.

Decided to check this place out due to it being a new concept for our taste pallets. Personally, I have never had Peruvian Chinese Wok. The service was attentive and sweet. When we walked in they had a 45 minute wait but felt like we only had to wait for 30 minutes for our food. We ordered Chicharron de Pollo, Lemonkay, Lomo Saltado, Sopa Ya-Chau and Maracuya. They instantly brought us over our drinks. To my surprise they were in a shot glass. The serving size was extremely small for four dollars and some change. The drink itself was delicious but wish I had more. Soon after all our food started coming in. My favorite of them all was the Lomo Saltado. I enjoyed it so much because it was the one with the most flavor. It was hearty and filling. Everything else we received was good, but not great. The rest of the food needed more flavor, more seasoning perhaps. This place has just opened and we're planning on making the trek back in a couple of months to see if anything changes.

Visiting the Nashville area, or driving through I-40. This is a must stop at location! In our 3 years in the Bay Area which is immersed in Asian food culture, we sadly never had an option for Chifa. Chifa is a Peruvian version of Chinese food. Peru may not be in Asia, however this is a HUGE cultural cuisine in Peru and incredibly authentic. We tried many Chifa's in Peru but none hit like in Chinatown Lima. This IS the SPOT. Chifa Ya Chau reminds us of exactly Chinatown flavors. The entire Nashville Metro area is incredibly lucky to have such an authentic restaurant. ¡Nada más que rico su Chifita!

Opening Day, and they did great! This restaurant is fantastic, and unlike anything else in Mt. Juliet. Very clean (it's brand new), plenty of seating and a whole host of food you've probably never heard of! It's located on the end of the strip mall, giving them a drive-thru and plenty of parking. I stopped in for lunch and had no problems. You can either order at the counter or sit at a table and a server will be by (this was somewhat confusing as the only sign is "Order Here"). I had the Chaufa and Chijaukay lunch combo with an egg roll. The Chaufa is a lightly fried rice similar to the Chinese version but a different flavor profile. The Chijaukay is super crispy fried chicken chunks smothered (not coated) in a sticky/sweet soy-based glaze. The egg rolls on their own are great, but the tamarind dipping sauce elevates them to a whole new level. It's familiar food prepared in an unfamiliar way, and it was absolutely delicious! Looking forward to the Lomo Saltado next time.

The food and service here was fantastic. We were sat right away and the gentleman working brought us shots of different Peruvian juices which were delicious I guess in place of a bread service. We then ordered the Tipakay with Fried Rice and the Tallarin Calisco. Both were served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The gentleman then brought us different in house made sauces and a in house chili oil we could pair our dishes with. It just added even more flavor. For as much as people complain about chains, this place is original, delicious, and has amazing service. I'm so glad to support them going forward!

Delicious food. Definitely very busy, understandably, but very friendly staff. Really helpful with the menu. I love that I can call in take out too.

Public Service Announcement -- They aren't closing, but they are moving to Donelson in June 2026. I didn't know until today when we stopped in for lunch. They will be changing the name to Asian Cajun. I will be going to the new spot after they get settled in. That being said I'm going to go ahead and do this review as it's still going to be the same food and owners when they move. This is an Asian/LA seafood fusion restaurant. They serve Thai Apps, Salads, Soups, Wok Fried Noodles, Fried Rice, Stir Fry, Thai Curries, Fresh Shellfish, Sandwiches, weekend Seafood Boils and Boba Teas. They do Catering, also. They also serve some Cajun dishes like Gator Bites, Oysters, Gumbo, Po Boys and more. I will definitely be visiting the new spot in a few months. I think I will review some of the Cajun dishes when I go. Ohhh-- BTW-- They do have a small market selling Frozen Meats and different types of fish like Mahi, Perch, Redfish, Shellfish and Octopus.

I understand the bartender was doing to go orders, expo, taking to go orders, and pretty much serving everybody in the front of house. With that being said, I was really put off when she ate off of her mom's plate at the bar and licked her fingers before we got our glass of water. She did not wash her hands the entire time we were there. We didn't receive silverware. I had to ask for napkins. Nobody asked us how her food was or the drink that I bought. This isn't meant to bash but to hopefully help by providing real feedback from a customer who use to really enjoy coming here. Again, she's busy and needs a snack, but that was very inappropriate in my opinion. I think the owner should look into hiring more people for front of house because the concept and menu is phenomenal but has not been good for the last few times we've been.

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. I highly recommend trying this place out!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.
