Ordered Uber eats from here for lunch today. I ordered the beef and broccoli with white rice and the chicken lo mein with fried rice. They were both in the lunch menu. Ate the beef and broccoli for lunch and saving the low mein for dinner. I have never ordered their beef and broccoli and it was good. Born and raised New Mexican here who married a MJ native. I have a sick obsession with American Chinese food and this place has never failed. It's not the best food you've ever had but it's pretty solid. My husband and I state "a solid 80-90 everytime and it's always hot". They also closed last year for their daughter's graduation and the fact that this place is local makes this place even better. They finally opened the inside too! Sunny's has basically built a wooden room where you enter and do all your food and pay transitions from inside. Sliding plastic windows, metal trays for cards or cash and a two-way box for your food. It's wild! The food is good, but could a little extra seasoning and salt. Which is surprising to say for a Chinese food restaurant. The egg rolls and the spring rolls were the highlight of the meal with the orange chicken coming up a close third. The low mein and the mushroom beef were just ok. The sesame tofu is absolutely delicious and never dry. The spring rolls were a bit soft but they had good flavor. The employees are friendly. It's clean inside and there's indoor seating although it seems more like a takeaway kinda place. Although they sell fortune cookies on their menu, your food comes with free fortune cookies. I love to get a side of chili oil for an extra kick of spice. They have plenty of easy outdoor parking. You can order online, by phone, or in person. Sunny Kitchen is a decent place in Mount Juliet to go to satisfy your Chinese food craving. It is a takeout-style place with a front counter and a few tables. Their menu has all the classic Chinese dishes from appetizers to noodles, to fried rice. I ordered the pint size egg drop soup ($1.75), an egg roll ($1.30) and the chicken teriyaki appetizer ($5.50). Even though these items were all from the appetizer section of the menu they were hearty enough for a filling meal, and I even had leftovers. The egg drop soup was okay but I bit on the bland side (even though yes egg drop soup doesn't have a lot of flavor in the first place) The chicken teriyaki appetizer included 4 skewers of chicken that had been marinated in teriyaki sauce and then fried. It was very delicious but after the soup I had 2 skewers leftover since I was full. The egg roll was good. Overall, nothing special but it's still good. Never disappointed with Sunny's Kitchen. Have been here many times and tried a variety of menu items. Everything is fresh, made to order and fast! There's the Chinese food basics. One of my favorite spots in Mt. Juliet for some fast Chinese food! Small, clean facility. Every time I've been service has been quick and staff was friendly. The food comes out nice and hot! I used to like it just OK. Basic standard stir-fry you can find in dozens of familiar setups. Lately it has gotten way better. I used to order my food - most of the time Kung-Pao chicken - extra spicy, but it never was. Now, it is on point in regards to giving that extra burn. The low mien is good. The spring rolls are OK - much better if when you get them home, you throw them in the air fryer to crisp them up a bit. There is almost always more food than can be eaten in one sitting, so there is leftovers for the next day. You also get those nifty little plastic to-go containers that somehow multiply in the darkness of the cabinet where you store them. They do seem VERY rushed when you call in an order and you can't help but wonder if they heard you right and when you get there if your order is correct, but it always has been. read more

However I'm always a connoisseur when it comes to the meat used and theirs was good, no rubber beef or chicken here. The kids liked the teriyaki chicken skewer appetizer, I enjoyed my egg drop soup although I wish they had the crispier won ton strips instead of the fake ones. Shrimp Lo Mein was good as was the garlic beef. The chicken and broccoli was not as flavorful. Chinese isn't always my favorite Asian Food, because it often all tastes the same (unlike Thai, Vietnamese or Korean) however occasionally the Chinese take-out sounds good. I will go back. This is just an average Chinese spot. I called my order in and was advised they only sell one size fried rice and that of course was a lrg, quart size. I ordered house special fried rice and that's just what it was. No carrots, peas, or onions in the fried rice. The taste is truly just average. I feel bad for writing a negative review but I was THAT disappointed. I was so excited to see that there was a Chinese place just around the corner from my new apartment. Last night was my first time ordering from there. To start off, the place is immaculate. COMPLETELY clean and tidy. Food smells great when you walk in. Service was friendly and attentive. My order came out in under 5 minutes. I got the chicken with mixed vegetables combo and an order of steamed dumplings, and took it home to eat. The dumplings were BLAND. No flavor in them whatsoever. The dipping sauce that came with them didn't fully compensate for that; just slightly spicy average dipping sauce. So I moved on to the combo platter. Again, flavorless! There was plenty of sauce throughout the dish, so that wasn't the problem. It just seemed SO under-seasoned. I couldn't finish it. It's so nice to have a new (clean) and decent, fast- Chinese restaurant in MJ! They're no Fulin's (and that's a very good thing!) Of our order of several items, most were steaming hot! Unfortunately, a couple of items were barely warm... the spring rolls were cool inside, the hot-sour soup was cool, and the General's Chicken was cool, too. And so that was less than preferred. I've ordered Sunny Kitchen twice now, and I am happy to say that I am not disappointed. I would easily say this has definitely taken over as my new favorite take out spot. The portions are definitely above par for the price. I ordered the lunch special for 6.95? (I believe) and not only had lunch, but also dinner. It comes with fried rice and a spring roll (yum). Along with lunch specials, we also got the dumplings, steamed, and the crab Rangoon. The starters also come in fairly decent portions as well. 9 dumplings and 8 Rangoon, as opposed to the typical 5-6 you see at other places. It makes sharing much easier. I suggest calling your order in ahead, maybe in your way to the car to go pick it up. They're super quick at fulfilling orders. It typically takes between 10 and 15 minutes right around lunch time. If you're craving a take out meal on the heftier side, but a little lighter on the pocket, that's also incredibly delicious, I totally recommend sunny kitchen. read more
