In town for a few hours and needed to eat lunch. I found this place and thought, why not. I came in at 1115am. By 1130 the place was getting full. I guess I picked a good place. I ordered some ramen. It came with a salad which was nice. When the meal came out, I thought, holy cow. That's allot of food. The ramen came in a huge bowl. It felt like it was about a quart of fluid. The meal was good. The waiter was running around and taking care of everybody the best he could. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. By the time I was done, the place was full and people were still coming in. Ordered Soup Noodles. The server confirmed w/ chef that the soup broth does not contain beef or pork or chicken. Good that they use veggie broth and seafood broth. Okay, so I'll start off by saying this is the most affordable sushi I've been able to find since moving to Nashville and I didn't try a single roll that I didn't like. I came for lunch and they had a special where you could order 2 rolls for $11.95- a great deal when some of the rolls would be close to $10 individually without the deal. The rolls also came with miso soup or a salad, so you can get a really filling meal for $12. The service was fast and they have a good happy hour menu too ($4 glasses of wine). We tried the Tennessee roll, eel roll, rainbow roll, yum yum roll, and dragon roll, and everything was delicious. Especially recommend the yum yum roll. My grandma ordered a chicken curry for under $9, the portion size was large and she said it was delicious. The five star reviews must be for the sushi, because I just had the worst hibachi in my life. Not only that, they charge you an extra dollar for fried rice and another dollar for the steak and seafood (yum yum sauce). How you gonna charge extra for fried rice, isn't that a hibachi standard, along with the sauce? On top of that, the food was not good at all..the rice was greasy, my veggies were cooked in this horrible pork tasting liquid which they tried to convince me was teriyaki sauce. It wasn't like any other teriyaki sauce I've ever had in my life. The exception was the spring rolls, they were pretty good..other than that, it was quite possibly the worst Asian meal I've had in Nashville. Needless to say, I won't be returning. First time eating here, we picked it up to-go. Only $13.99 deal for 2 sushi rolls and small miso soup was a great deal. I had the Fire Dragon Roll and my husband had the Cream Cheese Tempura Roll. I loved my roll, and appreciated the fresh ginger that has a natural off-white color, instead of being dyed pink like many places. The miso soup was so good too, I only wish it came with a larger cup of Miso. We also got the Pahlavi See Ew, which wasn't as good as we expected. We got it mild, but it was way spicier than a mild is expected to be and the chicken was tough. We would try the Pad Thai or another noodle dish, but will definitely get the sushi again. I will say the seafood rice had less seafood than I expected for the price but it was still fantastic. My family always said that some of the best restaurants are holes in the wall. Now, Kobe isn't exactly a hole in the wall, but the outside of the building can be a little off-putting if you don't know what to expect. The inside is nice, clean, and spacious. So don't let the initial impression stop you from going in. Plus, everyone that works there is incredibly friendly. We've never had bad service and every meal has been spot on. We've taken to ordering takeout in order to support them during the COVID-19 crisis, and everything we have ordered was just as good as if we had eaten there. I personally love their pad Thai (I think it's spelled paht Thai or pat Thai on their menu). But their curries are also good. One of their big draws is the sushi special they have- 2 rolls for $13.99. They have 20+ to choose from on this particular menu and it's the full roll, not just a couple of pieces. Considering many of the rolls sell individual for $9+, this deal really is great. We look forward to eating here when we can. It's always good. read more

The first time I visited I had the Pad Thai and it was not good, to the point I didn't go back for a while. Eventually my friends talked me into going again and I've been happy with pretty much everything since. The stir-fry's and curry's are solid options and their maki is good, but I would avoid the sashimi bento box. I highly recommend stopping by on a Monday because it's "build your own curry" day and it doesn't get any better than Panang curry your way! read more
