While I always find great merchandise for great prices here, I had an extremely uncomfortable situation when I visited today. The owner was having a political conversation (that included some racist remarks) with one of her employees in the back room. It was loud enough that her customers could hear her opinions while shopping. A lady poked her head in to say others could overhear what was being said, and that it wasn't appropriate, but the owner was rude in response. The owner said that she was proud of her political beliefs and didn't care if anyone was offended by what she had to say..... customers included! My friend and I exchanged quick glances, set down our merchandise and left - in a hurry. If you don't mind hearing the owners personal beliefs, then this is an awesome spot (thus the three stars), but if you get offended, then this is definitely NOT the place for you. read more

If you're coming here to sell, don't bother unless you're local. They are very weird about selling and seem very very lazy. The employees are just in the back and don't bother coming out unless they are called. Who runs their business like that. I also asked if I could donate my baby clothes because I just didn't wNt to carry them around anymore ans I liked how cheap their prices were for quality clothes and I had barely used onesies and pj's but they said no. I'm not sure why. As for buying, I barely looked around but it seems like they have nice clothing for cheap, from what I saw. But the accessories were marked way too high for a second hand store, like almost store prices. Might as well get it brand new, in my opinion. read more

I went in this morning and was able to place items on hold. The cashier told me "but only until the end of the day" When I went back the items had already been put back. Luckily I was able to find them- However can you all not tell customers times will be on hold and then put them back before end of day?? The cashier that was there was rude about it. She's lucky I didn't get her name. Super cool place- I would work on the customer service though. A simple "sorry" would've worked for me. Zero stars if I could. I hate stores & employees who aren't on the same page. Asked if I could return all items and was told yes, yet when I come in only $20 returned & the rest store credit. Why?? And their policy isn't on the receipt. Anyways, they always have rude employees and terrible customer service. Horrible customer service. I was a passerby the first time I noticed this place and went in to check it out. The girl at the front didn't seem very friendly. I decided to go back though and try to sell my stroller, they offered me 20 dollars for my 300 dollar plus jogging stroller. I declined. I also called beforehand to make sure of what time I could bring it in and felt rushed off the phone. To me it seems they want to rip off the people trying to sell things. My conclusion after searching for other children's consignment stores is the only reason people go here is because a lack of similar stores nearby. Update: We ended up selling our stroller to someone online and made $125. $105 more than they were willing to offer. read more

Shocked by the amount they gave me for 8 pairs of never worn jordache jean shorts, 9 kohl's summer dresses (some never worn) some Disney shirts. All in perfect condition along with other clothes.... I have been visiting this store for almost 10 years. This location, Manhattan beach and Cypress. Everyone has always been nice and helpful until yesterday at this location. I experience and most rude staff I have ever encountered in any store. I drove from Downey all the way to this store to finish getting baby items I need since I am due in 2 weeks. I knew exactly what I needed. I came in at 4:30 and the girl/lady told me I had 10 minutes left, but I actually had 30. I specifically asked for 2 items, asked do you have them and she answers both times: NO. As soon as I took a couple of steps I found the VERY items I was looking for. When I asked for a bath that was up high she came and got for me with an attitude I asked for another one to be brought down for me to compare and asked do you know the difference between them she said: NO! I was so fed up with her attitude I just told her to ring me. While doing that I asked if she could check my points and she straight said: NO AGAIN! I had my daughter with me and really didn't want to say anything but I had to. I asked: are we bothering you? And she said: I seriously just said No! WOW!! Then she continued to give me the receipt without saying a word, no thank you, no see you later. The worse service ever, so rude, such attitude. I regret even buying anything, I was patient with her, I hope they have a talk with this girl, she does not represent how helpful and nice everyone usually is . She clearly has no regard for costumer service and has no intention of helping customers. Texting and closing early is her priority. I was there 01/17/2021 at 4:30PM. She has no place working in costumer service. So many other people need a job and are willing to work hard and be courteous, not her. They had awesome items and there were two I really wanted and needed but I rather go to the other stores where I don't feel like I am bothering staff and they're not rushing me trying to close earlier and the only word the know it's no! read more

10/10 I used to go to once upon a time but after here I'm never going back. It's so much cheaper here and the clothes were cuter! Something once upon a time would sell for $6 was $2 here! Place is so expensive for being a consignment. They have old old clothes and mark them pretty high. I'm sure they would have more business if they sold pieces cheap and made room for more up to date inventory. I also went to drop stuff off once and they wanted to give me like 5 bucks for 3 bags of high end clothes. Which makes no sense. You over price crappy clothes but want to pay 5$ for 40 items.... Great place to sell your GENTLY used baby items. They have a lot of items and I've done really well here so far. They are picky, which they have to be, but it allows for them to have nicer things to sell. I've been very happy every time I go. This is another one of those places which I have been just choppin' at the bits to write a review about. When I was attending school semi-close to the area, I would see this place from time to time when stopping in the shopping center to eat. I have a son, so finding discounts really helps out from time to time. Since he doesn't have an older brother, he has to get his "hand-me-downs" somewhere...right? I never had a problem with them (out of the handful of times I'd been there), until this particular experience, but I haven't returned since. Here's the experience: I saw that they were selling some used items, and asked them if we could bring in used items for them to sell in their store. At the time, I had a bunch of old clothing which my son had outgrown. They told me that they accept clothing, but it has to be washed. After telling me I could bring it in, they had me set up an appointment. I took my son's clothing out of the drawers, and put them in a bag to bring to the store, and waited for the day of my appointment. On the day of the appointment, I brought the bags to the store, and gave them to one of the girls there. I wish I remember her name...all I remember is that she was younger and heavyset with medium brown to dark hair. She told me that she would look over the clothing, and give me a call back in a couple of hours. She called me later, and said that she was done, and to come back to the store. I returned, thinking nothing was wrong. As soon as I walk in the store, she begins to chew me out for bringing the clothing. She asked if I had animals, and I said yes. She said that she's allergic, and she can't take the clothing because I didn't wash it. I told her I was sorry, but the clothing was washed. She said, "follow me," and led me to the employee area. Is that allowed? She pointed at my son's clothing on the floor, with the bag next to it, and told me to get it myself. She then added that I need to, "THINK". LOL. Are you serious?! I was truly sorry that she was allergic, but I followed their directions, and was still reprimanded by a shop employee. I guess people who are unhappy with themselves must feel the need to project it onto others. I don't recommend this place for ANYONE. Horrible service with a snotty attitude. read more

Rude and negligent owners. I came there for the first time selling my mother's and sister's used clothing. They ripped the bags as they took them to the back of the store. I asked the lady nicely to be careful, and she looked very offended. She tossed them back to me. They told me they weren't interested in buying them. All my clothes were a mess and the bags just started falling apart. Believe me, I just got these bags straight out of Stater Bros. I left awkwardly holding a stack of laundry. As a matter of fact, this time around I saw a gross roach crawling around their business and the woman who inspected my things for trade in gave me attitude. I spent 2 hours waiting, brought in a dozen of nearly new dresses and shoes and she gave it all back. I'm almost wondering if she even looked at anything or lowballed me on whatever it is she did take. I read many negative reviews and fewer good ones before going but figured I would decide for myself. Unfortunately, I left unhappy today. 1) Prices were so-so. Half of the items I picked out were great buys and the other half over priced 2) Organization and layout could have been better 3) Staff friendliness was a 4 out of 10 I asked if they had rain boots and was told, "We're not putting them out, only summer stuff." Fair enough but that doesn't mean you can't try and sell me on the rain boots you 'do' have. It's not like you're Target and can afford to hold inventory. The selection of clothing and shoes is good, however the resale here is definitely not worth your time unless you bring brand new clothes and shoes, which makes no sense, being that what they sell is not all in perfect shape. Hit or miss in regards with things to buy. Some items are a steal while others you can buy new else where. Also, sometimes they have a large variety of things and other times all the stuff looks old or dirty. The toys and accessories are also really overpriced. Try Amazon or eBay you'll probably snag the same item for less and more often then not its new. The place itself needs to be cleaned. Employees and owner are super rude and make rude remarks in the back. They are loud about it so you can hear them. They made a snarky one about a nice but overly chatty old lady that went to sell her stuff. If you're going to there to sell your children's GENTLY used clothing or toys. DON'T. Ugh rude! I understand the rule of you can only bring 2 plastic bags full of baby clothes but when I called the woman was really rude. She said you better come in from 10-1 or I will not take you in. Ok.. So I drove down there with my daughters old clothes some never worn & all washed like the woman said. So I go in and what do you know it's the same woman. She didn't take any of my kids clothes !!! Saying that they were to outdated... Uhm excuse me!? My daughter is only 1! How can they be outdated. I guess my co-worker had the same problem with this place. They only take "expensive" or something they can make profit on. My co worker said that the man looked at her sons clothes and said." This looks stained" it wasn't even stained. I will never come here again. Not worth it. They don't even take your kids clothes anyway!! The four stars are for the amazing customer service I receive from Maria every time I go into the store. (About 2 times a month) She has to be one of the sweetest people I have ever met, we love her, and sometimes just drop in to say hello! We are always able to find nice things for our six month old son, and they are fair with the prices. Minus one star because the owner, Kelly is extremely rude. I went in today to sell some items, and she refused a piece of equipment that I bought from them (about two months ago) because it was missing the netting to it and had some lint on it. Mind you, it was missing the netting and had that lint on it when I bought it from them. Had I known they were going to turn it away when I brought it back in, I never would have purchased it in the first place. It was sold to me by one of the girls with shoulder length brown hair who looks over the items the store purchases. She should have been up front with me from the beginning, and let me know that they would not be able to buy it back from me once I was finished with it. Bottom line, you will find some cute clothes at good prices there, but don't go in to sell any items when the store owner, Kelly is there. read more

I can't believe all the horrible reviews that I'm reading! The reason they're "picky" about what they'll take from you is because they take pride in what they sell and want to make sure it's all CLEAN and NICE looking! AND they are actually PAYING you for what you bring in! Come on now. That's better for us customers! I'm expecting a little boy, and I went in here today for the first time with my husband and it was absolutely incredible. They have TONS of items, and the individual selling items are no more than $4 each. There are these huge bins full of a mix of beanies, mittens, onesies, socks, pants, etc. that is 25 for $5!!! EVERYTHING looked untouched and brand new. And I'm super picky! I walked out of there with 27 new items and I payed $7.28 total. Nothing beats this place. read more

I personally think they charge too much for the quality stuff that they have. Lots of faded clothes and stuff that I don't even know what they were thinking when they accepted. I just went shopping there for the first time last week. While looking around I figured they could use some better stuff so I brought my baby's stuff in. Here's the background on the baby's clothes. A good 80 percent of that stuff my baby has only worn once perhaps even twice. My baby grew REALLY fast so she left all that clothes behind pretty quickly there are even items in there that still have tags on. I was a former employee at Gymboree so tons of good stuff in there. I took in a 13 gallon bag full of clothes and shoes(vans and gymboree shoes). Want to know how much they offered me? 22 Dollars store credit. My rating is solely for them as buyers. If I were actually present (my dummy husband went) I would have never done it. IF YOU HAVE NEW STUFF SELL ON EBAY DO NOT SELL TO THESE PEOPLE THEY WILL GIVE YOU 2 DOLLARS THEN TURN AROUND AND SELL FOR 10. YOU CAN SELL FOR MORE ON EBAY and that's WITH shipping. Seriously...what's wrong with all the people who have reviewed this place?? Don't trust them...this place is awesome! People seem to have a problem with selling back their clothes. They are complaining about the employees being too picky but that's what's so great about buying clothes and toys from them...you know they only buy what's nice, clean, no stains, unbroken and in great condition. If you want clothes that are crappy, stained and torn then shop at Goodwill. Been here twice, once I had a giftcard for thirty bucks. I have 4 kids and it took me over an hour to find anything worth buying. Most of the clothes is very old and faded. Couple months later I cleaned out my kids drawers. I remembered the store and brought the clothes in. All the clothes were in good condition and nice. I would have bought them over the stuff I bought. They looked at them took less than half and offered me ten bucks. As I was waiting I looked through all the racks, again very old clothes. I have 4 kids and all the racks the same. I wouldn't waste my time again. read more

i have been shopping here on and off for many years but I must say I notice the quality going down and prices up. The racks are full of faded clothes with wash wear and they charge an average of $5 per item. I can shop clearance sales for new kids clothes and do about the same price!!! I have bought items for my daughter to go home and find a hole or undone seam, so they need to be more choosy sometimes. If the item is Gap or Gymbo or the like they will raise up the price even more. Its not worth it most times. $10 for a used gap sweater with snags....ummm no. I used to sale them my kids clothes too but its a hit or miss, sometimes she will pay out sooo little and other times only take the really great items and pay out ok. Useful for big baby items like baths, walkers, etc. I have better luck at Goodwills, ebay lots, and Thredup websites for gently used clothing. read more

I just sold some baby stuff here for the first time, I really expected to be there while they tallied up so I would see a breakdown, but that's not the case. They just take your stuff back and come back with a total for you. I didn't really like that! I at least expected like a 'we do $1 per outfit' cuz I get they are reselling it, but just coming back with a total made me feel like ehhhh. BUT, I do think I broke even with how a yard sale would have went minus the 8 hours of sitting in the sun and being annoyed about being asked, "can you do better than a quarter?" Although, it did take about 40 minutes of waiting since there were two people ahead of me. I ended up with $67 for an activity mat, never used Ergo carrier, a bag of pretty much brand new clothes and new shoes, a bouncy chair, one of those doorway jumparoos and several toys. They also gave me back two outfits and one was brand new just no tags, so no idea how they pick/choose. Overall it wasn't terrible, and now that I know what to expect, I won't be disappointed. Such a fun little treasure shop! They have the cutest and sometimes one of a kind babies and kids clothing, toys, accessories, shoes and other essentials. The used clothing is always in great condition. This is one of my favorite shops in San Dimas! I must add to that many who have written a bad review are mostly sellers who go expecting to get close to what they paid for their items they are trying to sell. This store is my go to store for back to school shopping, well any clothing shopping in general. the clothing is always well organized by size and the store is always clean. All the items I've purchased have always been clean, stain free and not overused. My two girls love coming into this store, the staff always takes time out to be extra friendly to my girls. The owner Kelly is always a joy to interact with, she always has a smile and is always so helpful to any of my needs. The staff are very well trained and can easily answer any questions I have regarding sales,fill a bag events and coupons. I have sold quite a few items to them and have always felt we taken care of. They always give me a fair price and are always patient with me with my questions. I understand everything cannot be sold due to fades and stains and I think they are doing all moms a favor by providing this service.
