Definitely a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this place while walking around and I am glad I stopped by! The servers were nice, food came quickly and was delicious. For a town that's proud of its bourbon and BBQ, Chili Thai was a surprising find downtown. It was packed for a weekday night, but I realized afterwards that the tables weren't being turned very quickly at all. Whether they were regularly short staffed or it was more crowded than normal wasn't clear to us. Our server was very sweet and helpful, but disappeared to get our waters for almost 10 minutes. At that point, we knew we all had to order everything at once. Getting and paying the check was also a very slow process. My shrimp pineapple fried rice was delicious, but another member of our party also ordered shrimp with his dish and only received 3. For an extra $2 that was disappointing. I will give Chili Thai credit, they were very accommodating for dietary restrictions. They were able to make fried rice without egg, which showed me that their dishes are all made very fresh rather than sitting in a wok all day. They also made the dishes according to everyone's preferred spice levels, though their idea of a 3-chili dish and my friend's were very different. If you're looking for something that will appease all palates then this is a good option, but if you're in a hurry this is probably not the place for you. read more

The food used to be really good at this place. I'm not sure what happened. I recently ordered take out and the lines were over 20 mins long. Also, the food didn't have much flavor and there was an egg shell in my food. I think the cook has been rushing due to possibly being rushed to get orders out. I did love the spacing between guests for covid reasons and i saw hand sanitizer available. I didn't see many guests with masks on so I'm not sure if it's enforced or not. The food is just not the same, especially not for a 20 minute wait. I think I'll continue looking for a great Thai restaurant. This restaurant isn't it. Really delicious food, well seasoned and fresh textures! I tried the calamari which was crispy on the outside and soft inside, didn't need any lemon, it's was paired with a good Thai sauce. Then I moved onto Thai hot drunken noodles which burst of flavor. Vegetables look fresh and help elevate the taste even more. I'll be a repeat foodie here. read more

Once again the shrimp pad thai was excellent! This is a small gem right off Broadway but is the best ethnic food choice in the area. We tried the Pad-See Ew for the first time. The wide noodles were a surprise, light and flavorful. The sauce coating the noodles was an excellent combination of savory and sweet. The Thai iced tea is a favorite as well. I just really really love this place. It's my go-to​ Thai place in Columbus.I order something different almost every time and I am always so satisfied. The portions are large for the price you pay, so I think the quantity payoff is fair. The atmosphere at night is perfect for an intimate meal, whereas the daytime atmosphere is perfect for a long lunch with friends. The staff is always nice and they have a pretty decent beer & wine list. There is adequate seating but their takeout packaging is awesome! They have good quality containers​ so you don't have to worry about it spilling out into your car in case you decide to order something for pickup- it tastes just as good at home as it does in the restaurant. All I received was a "How many?" & was sat, not even 3 minutes later the same server comes back and says "are you ready?" I've been done with my meal for almost 20 minutes and I have not been checked on once or have been brought my check. Tried to eat here yesterday and it was a disaster . Even though the restaurant was only perhaps a little more than half full, no one greeted us. My daughter and I stood at the front door for a full 5 minutes before our presence was even noted! The owner's wife was less than 10 feet away but she was far too "busy" lining up the leather bill holders to bother acknowledging us. When we finally got a table - bear in mind that the place was only a little more than half full - we were ignored again for another 10 minutes. I then saw that the owner, a 50ish fellow, was actually taking orders at tables and that there was only one "real" waitress. Totally understaffed. After waiting for yet more minutes, I looked around at some of the other diners and saw that most of them were sitting with no food in front of them at all. I for one will never know if the food was any good because we were just so disgusted that I had no choice but to leave. The owner and his wife are amateurish in their attitude toward their establishment and customers. This place will not be in business for long. I would not go to this place again on a bet - or a dare. The Panang curry was delightful, the Pad Thai was just ok, and the garlic black pepper was downright odd (extremely watery!). Also, as others shave mentioned they are not messing around with the spice levels! I normally get a level 2 out of 5. Here they have 3 splice level. We got 1 and it was definitely spicy! Great portion sizes and even though they warn you about the spicyness level it's not so bad that you feel like your mouth needs a fire extinguisher. I lived in Thailand for a year and understand it won't ever be as good as it was there but....sticky rice is not a desert! So when we ordered panang curry with some sticky rice and received sweet rice, like mango rice, I said we didn't order this. The sign held the day so I got to pay for something I didn't (mean to) order. Oh well, these are first world issues right? The beef larb was "vinegary" and had too much onion. Tom Ka soup was enjoyable but nothing special. The panang curry was super basic. Bottom line: if you're a Thai food lover and seen a few places, this is what you might expect from Columbus, Ga.
