I'm not the type of person that would go to chain restaurants should I choose where to eat, but my family's been going to this place for years. They have good deals on the appetizers, especially the $10 for 3 appetizers (Triple Dipper). The appetizers can get you full very easily, especially if you order several. Their best appetizers are the sliders, the southwest egg rolls and the buffalo wings. They also have their own dipping sauces, which I think are at the least bleu cheese and ranch (and another one that's good for the eggrolls, I forgot). Surprisingly, the sauces go well with all three. Their Texas cheese fries are a bit on the dry side, especially if you get it to go. Their Dinner for Two for $20 is all right, since it consists of a shared appetizer, two entrees and a shared dessert. Their pasta is full of cheese and not for the light stomach. I like the regular (not BBQ) rub on their ribs, which I think is a plain salt and pepper, but the ribs themselves are not fat and full of meat. My dad can make better ribs like Chilis and select a fatter rib. They skimp out on the rice, but the rice is flavorful. My favorite dish is their best-selling dessert, the Molten Chocolate Cake. Deconstructing the cake reveals that it's a cake with a hole cut out for the hot fudge, topped with ice cream and a syrup and a chocolate syrup shell that solidifies upon the cold. Now that I know how to make it, for the same amount I would spend on one, I can make 6 cakes. Every now and then they'll post a deal on their website or on Facebook, so at the least it gives me an excuse to go, but usually their free appetizer/dessert would require you to buy an entree, which sucks because their entrees are the worst part about the food there! read more

The entire time you could hear them putting the order together and then complaining about how they couldn't find the female employee who was suppose to be running the cash register... I live across the street from this location, and come here frequently with my family. Tonight, I had the pleasure of being served by William. He was on top of everything, without having to be asked. Very knowledgeable of the menu, from the drinks and entrees, to the desserts. He made some great suggestions, and made several stops at our table to ensure we were comfortable. Even with a busy section, he still found time to make us feel like we were his only customers. He went the extra mile, and really made our visit amazing. Like I said, I come here a lot, but this visit stood out but far. I myself, have been serving for 12 years, and manage a large chain restaurant myself. I know what to watch for when dining out. William is a keeper, for sure. And to the regional manager of this Chili's , keep an eye out for this guy, because If you don't take care of him, we are always hiring where I work, and I WOULD BE HAPPY to steal him from y'all :) Thank you again William for the speedy and exceptional service. Went here for lunch. Had the turkey club sandwich with French fries. The turkey club was good but the avocado that was inside was slightly turning brown. I wish I could have taken a photo of it but I didn't notice it until afterwards. The French fries were good but some of the fries I bit into were still hard. I had a mango ice tea which is my favorite drink. Had another refill of that. Service was excellent by the waitress. I forgot her name because I was so hungry! Lol! I've gone here several times for happy hour and I think that the customer service is pretty good. I've read some reviews about their customer service and I haven't had a problem yet. The employees are very attentive and even make an effort to have small talk. Their happy hour menu has some tasty foods for a good price. I usually order the Texas cheese fries, buffalo wings, and either a beer or a margarita. There's also TVs to watch games and such while waiting for your order. Came by yesterday 3pm 6/10/2019 to celebrate my son's birthday! Horrible customer service! I saw 3 people (not sure if they were actually servers or not) tending to the whole restaurant, from the bar to the front door, tables etc. Needles to say, we waited and waited to be helped, get refills, to go containers etc! I've been eating at Chili's since 1996. This is most disappointing and has been progressing with time. I've experienced broken booths in the bar area, by sitting down and sinking into the booth. I do want to say our waitress was great until the end the ziosk pad was not working and I waited for literally 15 minutes to pay. As I came in, I got zero greeting and timed 3 minutes until I was approached by a hostess, who was a waitress about to go on lunch. It also took a while to see our waitress. Plus, I have better experiences in other locations with better customer service. 1). Food. The food at Chili's is always good and they have a lot of options. No issues there. I am usually stuck with 2-3 options that I want to order. Very satisfied with the food and the options. Very reasonable portions are given. - Recommend the molten lava cake. We always get this if there is room for dessert. Usually were full by the time dessert rolls by. 2). Customer Service. This is the part I hate but have to be truthful. It depends on who is serving you and is inconsistent. I people watch a lot and compare the other tables and their waiters. I noticed that the other table / waiter was always checking and refilling the others. Ours had to be called for everything from napkins to straws and to refills. I was disappointed on this regard as good or average service is inconsistent at this location. 3). Atmosphere. Very good atmosphere and vibe. Nice and clean property. Can get very busy so call ahead or beat the rush. 4). Others. Plenty of parking spots in the plaza. Very conveniently located. This is a good spot that I recommend and will continue to support. I don't know why I like Chili's so much. Its a chain restaurant, but I often go here for the wings, beer, burgers, and the mini-burgers. I love those food items in particular and they always cook it just right. Besides that me and my friends always get served by some attractive waitresses, who are very nice and friendly to us. We went back even though I said a year ago I wouldn't. Niece picked the place for lunch and they have a special going called "perfect pairings." What a deal! You get to pick an appetizer from a selection of about six and a meal from a selection of about a dozen. The service has improved dramatically. Where do I start, from a rude welcome by the hostess who practically rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a table for two, which then progressed to being seated at a dirty table. I called the store and the employee who answered was very condescending and rude when explaining their protocol when there is a missing item from a delivery order. The waitress was pretty attentive and got out drinks and refills pretty quickly (although she got us the wrong refills on the 2nd go-around). For the appetizer, the chicken tortilla soup was actually really good. Lots of flavor and decent pieces of meat. The bacon cheeseburger which was the main entree, had a lot to be desired. The meat was totally burned and poorly presented. It included fries, which were cold and stale. Didn't even tell us if we had a server coming or not so I had to stand up to find a server after waiting around for 15 minutes for someone to take our orders. Food was mediocre. I've been coming to chilis and my son loves chilis. I asked my son where he wants to go to dinner for our family night he said he wants to go to chilis. I am very disappointed of the way the server Vanessa didn't properly explained and on top of that the manager Ayla came out like she was already ready to tell me know face. Today my family and I visited this Chili's restaurant and had the WORST experience. If I could give no stars I would in a heart beat. First off, we understood that restaurants might be under staffed and that a big party requires work, and that attending to our needs is a big responsibility so we were VERY understanding. However, we received our drinks in a proper amount of time BUT the drinks were wrong, some drinks were not brought out, and we received ZERO refills. We consistently had to remind our server and others helping our table that we didn't get the right drinks, and that we needed refills (and they were never brought). Secondly, our food took AN HOUR to be brought out. We ordered appetizers, entrees and desserts NOTHING came out on time. Some of our entrees came out before our appetizers.. HOW? We waited so long that they had brought us chips and salsa THREE times... we never ordered chips and a salsa.. thank you for the gesture but we just wanted what we ordered and felt that was a way to shut us up. When we received our food, it's like nothing was right. Every single dish was messed up in some way.. and came out incorrectly. I, personally ordered a BBQ Brisket Burger (one that is fairly new and that they have advertised on the menu and in the restaurant) and when the server brought out a Bacon Burger and I told him that wasn't what I ordered and reminded him I ordered the BBQ Brisket Burger he said that wasn't an option on their menu. How does a server not know what is on their menu? My cousin ordered a burger that was switched, and when she informed the server that she needed the correct burger, they took it back and just slapped an extra patty & lettuce and tomato. The fries were cold. They claimed they made a new order for her but it was VERY CLEAR what they did. She approached the manager about what happened and how the food was cold and the manager said "ok" and shrugged her shoulders like what do you want me to do about it.. very nonchalant. The server claimed he would take off things that were incorrect but when the bill came it was like he was adding double to our order. Sorry but as a manager you are the last in line of making sure customer service is provided and making your customers feel heard. She did nothing about it. Nothing about our whole experience. This is the reason I decided to bring this to yelp because the manager did nothing. All 15 of my family members celebrating my grandmother's 81st birthday will never be returning. Floors, tables and and seats are dirty, food takes forever to come out, servers and staff are extremely rude. Their smiles are fake and they are not sincere at all about helping out. Remarkably Terrible customer service this week. IZA Gonzales is a terrible manager!!! We arrived at 8:15 pm and the hostess tried to seat my family in the bar (three kids) because they were "closing the main dining room early" (supposed to close at 10pm). We disagreed with sitting in the bar, so the hostess went to discuss it with the manager. 20 minutes later (not a soul waiting ahead of us) and after two more attempts to make us sit in the bar they conceded and seated us at the far corner of the dining room as close to the exit as humanly possible. We got the "message" in that but decided to take the table without further complaint. Several staff continued to clean the main dining room while we ordered our drinks. We did not feel welcome and worried about what they would do to our food so we left without eating. I asked to talk to the manager to voice my disappointment with the horrible customer service. IZA Gonzalez the manager of the night came out and rather than fix the problem she gave me an snotty attitude, defended her decision to close early and couldn't have cared less about her ruining our family's evening. We have frequented this chilis for 10 years and never had this bad of an experience BUT ONCE IS ENOUGH to reverse 10 years of loyalty. With this management philosophy I say FORGET IT !! We called inside and they said they would bring it out as soon as they could. At 7:20 I was able to pick up my food for my 6:45 pick up. Ordered southwest rolls and they came out cold, I asked to reheat them and had to wait 15 mins and they came out way too hot where I burned the roof of my mouth. Burned it so bad I had to go to urgent care. The waiters and waitresses are really good but the kitchen could use some help. The guy next to me also had to ask for his food taken back because it was cold. Chili's is located on the south side of the Otay Ranch Town Center, right next to Macaroni Grill. It's a convenient place to sit down and grab a bite to eat, in between all the shopping you might be doing at the mall. Though Chili's is most known for their baby back ribs, I have to admit that I've never ordered them. They don't look appealing and there are so many better rib places, if you got the craving. The next popular dish is the chicken crispers, which I only order once a year, when I want to be a fatty. I've never been able to eat my entire plate because, at some point, I do get greased out. My typical go-to dish is the sliders. Can't really go wrong with burger and fries. But, on the occasion, the fries delivered are either old or have a weird after taste that could be due to old frying oil. If they taste old, you can always ask for a fresh batch of fries, but there's not much you can do about old frying oil. The staff here can be hit and miss. I prefer to eat here later in the evening, when they're not so busy. There's plenty of parking on this side of the mall. The Chili's on H Street has better service, so if the family wanted to go eat at Chili's, I'd prefer to go the H Street location. read more

This place is a solid 3. Anytime you arrive after 7:30 on a weekday they try to sit you in the bar area no matter what. They like to leave early I guess. Once you get to the table you usually have to wait some time to be noticed. Some of the waiters are very nice and attentive even though they take their time. The food is good and they have great deals. You can never go wrong with the ribs or chicken (crispy) crispers. The margaritas are okay, sometimes too strong.
