The ambiance is a chill California pub feel. Similar to a Buffalo Wild Wings, but brighter. They have a full bar and tons of TVs to watch sports. I assume it gets very packed at night, during game time. I do want to come here on a football night. The bone in chicken wing, had a nice light crunch. Not over fried. Now the Parmesan sauces were good, but also on the saltier side. The Steak Philly, was great. Well season, and they butter toast the buns. The Sweet Potato fries were also lightly fried and seasoned well. Now the Mexican Corn was outstanding. It had mayo and light spiced seasoning on it. I've came here a few times and wow the burgers and wings are delicious. I usually order just a regular cheeseburger and they're $0.79 wings. I recommend the sauce dynamite for a spicy option. The wings have always met my expectations and the service is awesome. The employees are always so kind and welcoming. They have more than enough TVs for customers. Went here on a Wednesday night for a little dinner date since it's close to our home and we've never tried before, and we were so satisfied with our experience here! Ordered the firecracker shrimp (HIGHLY recommend), Monterey chicken quesadillas, buffalo wings, lemon pepper wings, and western burger (also HIGHLY recommend) and everything was absolutely delicious. I used to come here a lot after work and the 3 times I came here was very nice until I had this lady that served me and when it came to me paying I gave her my card and I left her cash money for a tip and she took it upon herself to til herself $20 dollars. Yes I complained after a week because that's when I saw the charge on my bank account. I complained to the manager that ran the bar and all he did was give me an extra beer because I was drinking beer that that evening. And then he told me that they had fired her because she had done that before to other clients.. so I didn't come for a while and this is my second time that I've been back and I'm gonna tell you the service here is so lousy. Love Hurricane Grill and Wings. I've had the quesadillas, fish and chips, Mexican street corn, the Philly Cheesesteak, the chicken strips, and the buffalo wings. I can tell you that all of them are good! This place is much more than wings. The bartenders and servers are super nice. It feels like a family there. They have great Happy Hour menu items as well. This review is long overdue. Let me start out with the kids chicken tenders are so fresh, real chicken breast. It's so good flavorful crispy hot all the things. I usually get the Calypso bowl, which is my absolute favorite and it's so flavorful the peppers and onions can be a little much because that's not my thing but I just work around it because it gives so much flavor with the mahi-mahi and the shrimp. It's a great healthy alternative if you don't wanna get you know fried food at the establishment. And then lastly the wings the wings are bussing y'all the wings are probably the best wings I've had in San Diego. I'm from Atlanta where we do wings and I have not had any Atlanta style wings until I met hurricane grill. I've been gatekeeping this, but the wings are to die for they are big juicy flavorful. I like to get the buffalo and lemon pepper mix back home. We call that a hot lemon pepper sprinkle so it's the closest thing you can get to Atlanta do yourself a favor go here now. Ambience is a bar. First and foremost we will NEVER come back to this establishment. We used to come here all the time however, when I informed the gentleman at the counter that the ice by the sodas was empty he refilled it in a way that was disgustingly gross. He took the cover off the ice dispenser and put it on the dirty carpet, filled the dispenser with one tub of ice and put the cover back on. UNSANITARY and will never go back. My family and I just moved into the neighborhood and wanted a good quick bite to eat on Friday night. I had a taste for wings and Hurricane Grill popped up. The restaurant wasn't busy when we walked in and we got seated right away. The hostess seemed to always be our server and the primary one for the indoor portion of the restaurant. She was friendly and very attentive. The food was fresh and seasoned well. We all got wings and were happy with our meals. They had an amazing deal of 10 wings for $10 AMAZING deal. Atmosphere is pretty chill, they have an outdoor area and the inside is pretty big and nice and cool on a hot day. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. We came in at night around 9PM and the place was empty but a few to-go people waiting. Waitress handed us menu's and let us sit ourselves which was nice we get to pick out where we wanted. Ambiance was weird since it was empty and maybe that should have been a red flag from the start. I never see people go in here throughout the week. The drinks are self served I'm assuming since we just got cups and were told the fountain was open for us. I personally like this because I don't have to wait for a refill or I can drink more than one flavor but on a night after work I don't particularly want to stand up multiple times it might not be as convenient. We ordered the garlic parm fries which were super good. The garlic flavor wasn't overwhelming and the overall it complimented the fries well. 7/10. We almost ate them all before I remembered to take a picture lol. Partner ordered bone in wings which they enjoyed. I tried them and I'd give them a 6/10. Not a lot of seasoning but the chicken was soft and still moist inside. Not dried out. He picked ranch and honey bbq. Ranch was alright, felt watered down. And the honey bbq was definitely overpowered by the honey taste. Could have been more savory. I ordered the chicken tenders. These took a while to come out compared to the rest of the food. The breading was crunchy which I liked but the chicken inside was super dry. It was kinda like eating jerky but chicken. I got ranch as well and honey mustard. Again, the sweet taste once overwhelmed the honey mustard. This might be great for some people but it was way too sweet for our liking. Over all, this isn't a place I would particularly return to. Perhaps for the burgers since those look appealing but not for the wings or chicken on my part. Parking is also hard to find since its a really small lot. Hurricane Grill was on our list to try , it is located in the shopping center next to HomeGoods and across the street from Otay Ranch. We stopped by on a Sunday and the parking lot was packed!!!! We could not find a parking spot , so we parked across by HomeGoods ,it was just a quick walk. I saw another review mention that the sitting/ordering concept was confusing . I asked the server if we just sit down in the patio or do we order first . We sat down and it was about 15 minutes and still no server came to take our order. I went up back to the front and she said she would be right there. She asked what drinks we wanted and she just brought 2 cups since it is self serve .The service was extremely slow , once she finally came we ordered all of our food. They brought the wings , but never brought our nachos (appetizers) I had to inquire about them. Food: Wings were delicious! We tried the medium hot and the Coco Loco. The fries were good as well and the nachos were alright but great appetizer to share . Overall the food was good the reason for the 3 stars is the service . Best Wing spot in Otay Ranch area! Manos Down!!! They have 99¢ wings on Tuesdays and other great deals. And No chusma here! That's right I said! No Pinche Chusma! By chusma I mean "los preppies". Great place to watch sports games and sometimes they have live bands. The food is great! They have a variety of foods. Every time I have been the customer service has been great. You order at the front, they give you a number and they bring your food out. If you sit in the patio you will get a server. I'm gonna review something that NEEDS to be known about this Hurricane Location. THERE IS A FATBURGER IN THIS RESTAURANT. As a conossieur of fatburgers (I can down a XXX fatburger anyday anytime) it is LEGIT. Barbara was our waitress and gave me and my fiancée some of the best service ever. The Manager was surprised to see us extremely excited about fatburger, and lemme tell ya it did not disappoint at all! I ordered the Fatburger XXX combo while my fiancée ordered the Fatburger XL. It was a whopping 1.5 LB of meat and it was glorious. This was probably the best Fatburger I've ever had, and the quality of the meat was definitely incredibly fresh. I did forget to add cheese to my burger, but I legit could not care because I was going hard into that burger. I was so excited I had meat juices all over my shirt. The fries were also reallllly good and crispy just like the way I remembered! They also taste wayy better than In and Out fries especially when paired with that meaty fatburger goodness. This was by far the best Fatburger experience I've ever had in my life AND it was in Hurricane! I can't wait for the full menu to appear so we can get those hella good Shakes and the chicken sandwiches too!
