Tonight I went, it was 3 adults and 3 kids. We went around the typical start to dinner rush. From start to finish, our waitress Stephanie S was fantastic. She was on top of EVERYTHING. We had drinks in a timely fashion, our apps came out fast and our entrees came out pretty quick too! Everything was also delicious. She was nice and sweet to us as well. With all the chain restaurants, chilis is leading the game and has been for 44 yrs. The food is always solid and fresh. The service here is always friendly and welcoming. The kitchen seems to get the food out very quickly even during busy nights. My personal recommendations are the chipotle bowl and honey chipotle crispers. I love chili's. One of my favorite restaurants, but the food does not do well with take out. Last time, not during corona I got the buffalo chicken salad, bacon was weird & the chicken didn't taste good. I got the petals last night, the ranch spilt everywhere. I get it mistakes happen so I put them in the air fryer & when I ate them all I could taste was the oil. Got buffalo chicken burger, everything was cold so I put the burger in the air fryer too & it was chewy. Also came with 9 fries. If i can count the fries then they didn't give enough. My husband got the chicken bacon quesadillas, the cheese wasn't melty anymore, everything was very cold- even tho we got there before the pick up time said. but the dilla's was okay. Steve was our server he was nice and attentive. We sat in the bar/lounge area and it was fantastic. Me and my boyfriend went on Sunday night around 6 pm. We both had the president margaritas which were great! And we had the boneless chicken as our appetizer. So I have been here in a real long time and then I was reminded why when I got my food. My husband suggested it because of the 3 for $10 deal. Our waitress was great super friendly and very attentive. But the food spoke for itself. My oldest daughter ordered the Margarita chicken and though it was edible it lacked presentation. Now I decided to order a triple sampler and looking at it the egg rolls looked like they had been sitting and everything was fried in very old oil and it left such a nasty taste in my mouth. My waitress noticed my dissatisfaction shortly after I got my meal and was quick to offer me something different. I looked over the menu and almost didn't reorder because of the awful taste in my mouth. Then told waitress that I would just take queso dip . She brought me chips and salsa out first and the chips must have been fried in that same oil because I started to get that funny taste in my mouth again. When the waitress brought out the queso it sort of masked the taste a bit. Here for lunch during the week. Waitress seemed bummed out at first then cheered up... Thank goodness because I really hate a sour waitress/waiter. We sat in a booth in the bar area and were comfortable. Quality of food both in the taste and freshness department is great. The food came out pretty quick. Presentation was nice. Expecting the worst, I finally relented and accompanied my wife and two kids to Chili's. And to my surprise, we ended up having a pretty decent experience. I read a lot of business news and was aware that Chili's had been for some time in a massive top-down overhaul thanks to pressure from their biggest investors. Such a geek I am that I even read through a 200-page PowerPoint that talked specifically about what Chili's was doing to turn itself around. And I must say, it's working. Chili's will always be Chili's in that it is still a mediocre chain restaurant, even when it is firing on all cylinders. But the kids love it, the booze is cheap, and there's plenty on the menu that everyone can find something that should appeal to them. Some of the highlights for this location: First, the store was clean and up to date in terms of modern decor. That's a biggie. You fail on that and you may as well just close up shop. Second, they have a tablet-driven system for managing the check, which also serves up iPad-like games for the kids. (For $0.99 per visit.) It doesn't replace your server, but it does allow you to call for them, pay the bill, split the check, and obtain a receipt. When you pay, you are offered to take an electronic survey about your experience. As a person who lives and dies on customer insights, I cannot begin to tell you how smart this is. Third, the manager walks the floor and stops by each table to see how their meal is going. That's a nice touch. He's a really nice guy. And lastly, the food isn't half bad. Everything is crazy salty, as my wife pointed out. So if that's a problem for you, I might suggest you steer clear, or at least wear comfy shoes that stretch, because your ankles are bound to swell up. Guacamole made tableside, though gimmicky, produced a more than edible version of the classic. And my wife's black bean burger smothered in sautéed mushrooms and melted swiss looked like it was pulled right out of the photo on the menu. Me? I keep it super-simple at a place like this and just had some boneless buffalo bites. I'm sure they are frozen nuggets of mystery meat, but their sauce is good, and when washed down with a few beers, I'd go so far to say they're even better than Hooters, Applebees, or Buffalo Wild Wings. I don't plan on running back here any time soon, unless it happens to be for a few apps and Jamesons at the bar. But for the occasional trip with the kids to maintain my sanity, Chili's turns out to be a decent option to kill an hour or two. read more

From 4 to 1 in one sitting, I've come here so many times and I've never experienced it like this last night. My waitress must have been over worked and the manager has no clue what quality food looks like. First, The waitress was the hostess. After directing us to the table she made a sharp turn into the kitchen and never made it to the table. We sat ourselves at this point. As I began to order my drinks the waitress began to bad mouth the manager because she was taking orders and sitting people. The drinks came out and then shortly the food followed. I took one look at the "smoked wings" and I was immediately turned off by the color of the chicken. I've never seen the skin of chicken look so disgusting. I wasn't going to be rude about the whole thing and I knew things could happen but after the manager came out inquiring about the chicken wings, instead of apologizing and offering a replacement, thats when I knew he had no clue or probably didn't even look at the dish. His reply "They're smoked" What exactly does that mean? That chicken can look pale and disgusting. Then he wanted to throw them in the deep fryer? I was trying to figure out if that was an insult or was he trying to keep the dish from going in the garbage? If the product is smoked, Why would you ruin that by throwing them in the fryer? I was so beyond myself I fired an email off to Chili's while I sat at my table. It takes a lot of energy to drive a person to that point. Amazing service!! We came in with a party of 6 including 3 kids under 5 which is NOT an easy party to handle. The restaurant was packed so we were really anticipating a bit of a wait for our food and for our server to come over, but we actually received better service at this time with this part at Chili's then we have at empty restaurants in the past. not a happy camper. Came here last wednesday with my BF for dinner, you know a change of pace, and since I have never had a bad experience at the Rutherford NJ location, I thought why not. Well for and empty place, service was slow. The hostess sat us, and told us our server would be Joel. Well 8 mins later Rachel showes up and says she will be taking care of us and Joel was her partner and would check on us later ( mind you it was empty) we were like hey double servers = better service.... NOT. we never met Joel. We saw him, but he never came to the table. After some careful menu debating, we opted to do the Special - $35 - comes with 2 Margahritias, shared appetizers, 2 entrees, and a shared dessert. appetizeres were nothing to jump for joy about, but we settled on the tostadas with corn guac. Well the waitress Rachel, delivered the chips and salsa and said the guac would be right out. 10 mins later I ask her were the guac was and she replies "they are making it in the kitchen. It will be right out" she walks in the kitchen and out with the guac. Tell me... How do you serve half an appetizer. Thats like ordering chicken wings and they serve you Blue cheese and celery saying the chicken will be right out... WTF. My BF got a burger off the menu and I got the Honey Chipotle crispers. His burger was dry and my crispers tasted like i was licking the sugar bowl. I tried everything to fix the sweetness. the dipping sauce, ate with salsa, used the guac. Nothing helped. I told the waitress when she FINALLY made her rounds that she could take it away. That I didnt like it because it was too sweet. She looked puzzled at me and said really, most people think they are spicy. I told her thats what i was expecting- sweet and spicy and she just said oh ok and walked away. No offer of something else. Dessert we took home. Simple cheesecake. Had nice texture. balanced flavor, but nothing that i would make a special trip to get. I walked in the waiter sat us she was very nice! She sat us to the right of the entrance doors. Me and my 3 friends sat there for 10 minutes to just put our drinks in and we decided to give him our orders as well. We were sitting there for 40 minutes and he never gave back. The people next to us only had their drinks. And the waited an hour and still didn't even get a chance to put there order in.
