RIbeye, Medium Rare with Horseradish Creme Fraiche
    Dave W.

New Years dinner at Jasper Stone hit the spot. We went with friends and the palce was packed. A little noisy, but that is to be expected. Our server, Willem, was attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu. The menu is quite different from our last visit in 2024 - better organized and easier to read. We atarted by ordering a Caesar salad and Tagliatelle Bolognese to share at the table as an appetizer - quite nice and a good start. Charlie and I both chose the Creekstone Ribeye ( I opted for the Horseradish Creme Fraiche) and our wives both chose the Crab Crusted Halibut. all entrees came out cooked to order and piping hot. We also shared an order of creamed spinach. No dessert as we were doing that at home, but the coffee hit the spot. JS is BYOB so don't forget to bring your wine. Defintely a destination restaurant, and we will be back!

On Sunday 11/23 I went to Jasper Stone had the honor of having BJ as my amazing waiter. He definitely knows his things from the beginning when he had to talk about the menu. I mean he ran the specials down and it had to be like 15 to 20 different things that he knew them meal by meal that was so impressive to me. I am not even gonna lie. We ordered the Italian chop salad and it has olives in it. I ordered it first, and then I opted out of it because it has olives and my date loves olives in it so I said let it stay and oh my gosh, I'm so glad he did because it was finally chopped. You could taste all the salt in it And I am so amused that it depends on how certain things are made for me to like them so now I'm no longer gonna say I don't like something. I'm gonna figure out how I like it made. Olives? I don't want them and the fact that I am enjoying the hell out of this salad And it has olives in it 10 out of 10. Then I had the short rib rigatoni. It was so tasty. You could taste that meat with seasoned well and slow cook to perfection. I didn't like the Arancini. I also had Wagyu meatballs. Those were so moist and I paired them with the short rib rigatoni pasta. The restaurant is BYOB. So I brought a bottle of champagne since I was celebrating my birthday. My date also had a pasta. It was also delicious, I don't remember the name and I didn't take a picture of it on the menu. So sorry at that point I was having a blast enjoying my night and the ambiance of the place. The cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I took some beautiful photos in front of it I had to. Then I ordered the pistachio cake for my birthday candle moment. And that was one of the best pistachio cakes I've had. They said it was limited time. It's not always there. But I was so happy that it was there when I was there because pistachio was my all-time fave. And lastly, to break down the rating in detail, the restaurant itself is like a 7 my waiter BJ is why the restaurant is a 10 out of 10. I love when a company hires well. Says a lot about what they look for during the interview process. I have to rave about how knowledgeable he was about the menu and how passionate he was about giving great service. I have been working since I was 16 and I take customer service very seriously I can't explain how much I love getting really good customer service from someone especially at a restaurant I enjoyed.

I chose Jasper Stone to celebrate my Christmas Eve birthday, and it was outstanding. I'm still recovering from major surgery and arrived in a wheelchair, but from the valet to the warm greeting from hostess Jaiden and the excellent service from our waiter James, everything was handled with genuine care. We started with the oysters (super fresh and briny) and grilled octopus (perfectly cooked). For dinner, my sister had the filet mignon, and I ordered the 26-oz Wagyu New York strip, plus a lobster tail for surf and turf -- all cooked perfectly. We finished with NY cheesecake and bread pudding, which were fantastic. Great food, beautiful holiday atmosphere, and truly thoughtful service. A perfect birthday dinner.

In one word, WOW! Love the ambiance inside. The restaurant looks beautiful. Our server was outstanding so knowledgeable and friendly. If I am not mistaken her name is Danielle and she works there for a while already. Super sweet person. The food was delicious we were happy with everything! I will come back very soon to celebrate my friend's birthday!

Let me start by saying the service here was excellent, so much attention to detail here. The ambiance is very calm and cozy yet such a trendy vibe, like a restaraunt you would find in NYC. We tried baked clams and firecracker shrimp I believe. Both delicious. We ordered a Pat La Frieda Porterhouse which was so tender and perfectly cooked. The black spaghetti was so good. We tried almost all the sides and they did not disappoint! Crispy potatoes were the perfect crisp, mash potatoes were flavorful, Mac and cheese was creamy and Brussels sprouts were so good too! So many specials I think they'll be busy for a very long time, we'll definitely be back!

This is the second time I've been to Jasper Stone and I am so glad I got to eat there again. Before even getting the food, the decor and layout of the restaurant is stunning. There are flowers and the restaurant is perfectly dimly lit. There are is also a nice area near the back next to the bathrooms with a swing and flowers to take a nice picture. As for food, I started with the bang bang shrimp. It was so flavorful and there was a slight crunch to the shrimp which I really enjoyed. The shrimp with the flavorful sauces and cucumbers made it the perfect combination. For my entree, I had the vodka pasta and basil fettuccine. Jasper Stone's vodka pasta is one of my favorites because of the burrata cheese at the center that and the rich taste of the vodka sauce which packed a punch. The pesto fettucine was also excellent. Special shout-out to the fact that the although the pasta was coated in basil sauce, there was still a lot of sauce in the dish to mix in have that delicious extra pesto. So good and with the lobster, chefs kiss! I also had the cinnamon bread pudding that was also very good. I wished there a bit more gelato, though. There is only enough to have a few bites of the gelato and bread pudding together. All in all, the ambiance, food, and service were all top tier. Genuinely one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. 5/5.

Our server was great. He was very attentive and was very enthusiastic to suggest recommendations. Enjoyed my dinner. Seating was limited and not very spacious (probably because it was a Saturday night). For what space was available they did try to arrange it to accommodate the crowds of people having their meals even though it was difficult to not listen in on other people's conversations. Aesthetic was cute! I have suggested to others to check out this restaurant if they want a good steak.

Very nice place in an area without too many nice places. Made a 8:30 reservation. Sat us immediately. Its a BYOB. So bring your own wine Our waitress was great. Food was good. Not great. Got the goat cheese arugula salad with prosciutto. It was good. But kinda heavy handed. Bucatini carbonara was missing something. Strip steak and fries. Bread pudding dessert. Everything was good. Place is beautiful. Service was on point. A bit pricey. I would come back for a special occasion

My boyfriend and I have been a few times, and it's always a great experience! The staff is expedient, friendly and knowledgable. When they review the long list of specials, your mouth waters!! The food is delicious and comes out hot and fresh. The ambience is romantic yet upbeat with lively floral roses along the walls and there is a beautiful center tree decoration blooming with blossoms. It's byob so you get to save on drink prices! The valet is quick and convenient. The general managers walk around and check in on you. What's not to love?! Highly recommend making a reservation.

Hidden gem in monroe. Definetly needed this type of place in the area. Food is excellent- filet mignon is like butter. The wagyu meatballs were dense and flavorful. The desserts were excellent get the olive oil cake. Service was very attentive and the owner came out and spoke with us for a good 10 minutes. This location reminds me of a zen spa, we really enjoyed spending our anniversary here and will be back. Just be mindful it is is BYOB

10 out of 10 AMAZING! The food was out of this world. Our party went a little crazy trying the sides but I'm glad we did cause everything was so good. I cannot wait to go back. It's the perfect date night spot. The place itself was beautiful. There were flowers & chandeliers throughout. We loved the vibe and our waitress Danelle was very helpful. She described the food as being "bomb" and she was absolutely right. We ordered dessert that is not pictured: we had pistachio cake with gelato & omgggg it was sooo good, the cheese cake which was just average cheese cake BUT, the toffee cake with icecream was delicious.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall but don't be fooled. After you valet your car and walk in, you forget that you're in Monroe. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We were meeting friends and were seated immediately. We had fabulous service from beginning to end. Everyone who helped us was so nice and took care of everything we needed. They were happy to help serve all of the appetizers and pasta courses. Pasta was good perfectly and the sauces were delicious. For the mains the pork chop and Bronzino were all very popular. I went with the cod. It was very fresh but there was too much sauce and took away from the dish. We ended the night with tiramisu. It was a large portion and more than enough for us all to get a few spoonfuls. Worth it to come for the service alone!

Beautiful space, excellent Mexican food, and great service…read more My family brought me to Mezcal as a surprise, and we were all really impressed. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant makes a great first impression. The décor is beautiful and upscale, but still inviting and there are plenty of great spots for social media pictures. We started with a few lighter appetizers, but they ended up being more than enough. We shared three sets of tacos: the fish, pork, and short rib. Each order comes with two tacos, which makes them perfect for sharing and trying different flavors. The esquites were also really tasty and all paired very well. My daughter had a cheese quesadilla, which she absolutely loved. For drinks, I went with an Old Fashioned (my go to classic) while my wife ordered the "Clock It" mocktail. Both were solid choices. I also appreciated that they brought out boxed water for my daughter, which was a nice touch. What really stood out to me, though, was the service. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. There's also a fairly large bar right at the entrance, so you don't necessarily have to come here for a full meal. I could easily see Mezcal being a great date-night spot or a place to grab drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. There's also plenty of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Next time, I want to try some of the main dishes. It's a higher-end restaurant, so expect the prices to reflect that, but between the food, atmosphere, service, and presentation, I thought it was well worth the experience.

However, the hype and expectation far surpassed the actual experience. We had an early reservation. And among the first guests. The woman host was very nice she tried to seat us at a table right near the entrance and we asked to be moved to a booth by the large art pieces more center to the dining area. Was sexy and very dark. Our server was nice and we ordered fancy drinks. It was cute but the drink was nothing amazing. Second drink I got a nice pour of high-end tequila, much much better. Octopus appetizer was slightly undercooked and a little mushy. Came with several house made sauces and none which were memorable. Nothing to turn my nose at but not even close to what I was expecting. We also had the market oysters and they were oysters ‍. We ordered the rib cap experience. Underwhelming experience and a skirt steak. But steaks were cooked perfectly. And their Mac and cheese, rib cap came with mash. All good, not great or amazing. Bathroom was not the cleanest either. Water all over the counter and toilet paper on the floor. The diner that would fly... at a 5 star restaurant, I couldn't believe it and they had really just opened for the day. I am not running to go back here, however, I'd gladly go give it a second try again in the future.

I visited Steakhouse 85 for the first time on Thursday, March 19th. We all know the food is fantastic, but what impressed me even more was the employees. When I walked in, I was greeted by the hostess, who had a big smile and bright eyes. She showed us to our table swiftly, and during our time there, her smile and warm welcome continued as she greeted other incoming diners. Our waiter appeared quickly with the first question would you like something to drink, water, etc. After the initial greeting, and now ready to take our order, he excitedly told us he had the pleasure of tasting most of the items he suggested. His excitement about the food he had the "pleasure of tasting" (his words) was apparent. Also, I had the pleasure of speaking to Monica, a manager at Steakhouse 85. She was kind, thoughtful, insightful, and well spoken. I could easily see why she holds that position and could have talked to her as I would a good friend. How a great manager like Monica gets those around them to react positively is by example; in other words, it's the ripple effect. It is easy to see that she is the type of person who, no matter what she does or where she goes in life, success will follow. Also, I want to say thank you to the owner and all the managers because hiring the right employees, from the cooks, busboys, and servers, is not an easy job in itself. The key to success is not just about the food; it's also the employees who add to the establishment's success! Great Job To All Of You! Kindness should never be taken for granted these days! Frances

Let me share my last night experience, arrived at restaurant at 8:53 pm (restaurant closes at 10pm), was not crowded probably 4 tables on the outside patio, where they were showing a World Cup game. We got seated quickly and put the drinks order in right away, and then was when everything went south, in not more than a minute the server came to take our order, we ask for a couple more minutes as we just got the menu and were looking at it, then right behind the table 3 servers start to talk bad about us and saying things like they better hurry up, we need to go home to watch the game, tell them that we only have quick bites or else we not going home tonight ( all in Spanish but we DO understand the language) . Will never go back to this place or recommend it. It's a shame places like this ruin the reputation of great Portuguese restaurants. Also menu is extremely overpriced compared to other Portuguese restaurants. Stay away..
