Walked into a beautiful place. We stated with a great bread basket. Maybe the best I've ever had. And the great food continued. For appys, we had a wedge salad w/ a slice of bacon, which my wife enjoyed. I had baked clams, which I loved! For dinner, my wife had Filet Mignon and mac & cheese on the side. The meat was cooked perfectly and the mac & cheese was great. I had a Wagyu rib eye cap and Brussel sprouts on the side. The meat was perfect, and so were the sprouts. For dessert, my wife had the affogato, which both of us loved. The only disappointment of the night was the Tiramisu, not flavorful at all. The service was top-notch, I appreciated that the waiter was not a kid, which so many places use these days. It's very expensive, $380 for two (BYOB), including tip. As great a meal as it was, I don't think I will be a regular. If I come back, it won't be for the steak, mine cost $115. The mains don't include sides, it's all a la carte. If the money doesn't bother you, or it's a special occasion, I highly recommend this restaurant. Somebody in that kitchen, knows what they are doing! read more

What an unfortunate turn of events. We arrived as a party of 4 on a Friday evening around 6 pm expecting a well needed, well deserved, enjoyable meal amongst friends. I was especially looking forward to ordering the ribeye and lit up instantly when the server listed it as one of the specials. The server shared that he would need to collect the orders for all of our courses at the same time which was fine with me. I actually had more confidence in the timing of everything for that reason. Our server had a delightful energy particularly at the beginning of our visit. After we placed our orders, everything began to fall apart. It did get noticeably busy since we first arrived, but we ultimately waited for our main entrees for over 3 hours. 3 hours. The table ordered the charred octopus and the oysters to start. The oysters hit the table fairly quickly, but then we began to gradually notice how long it was taking for the octopus to come. I had only a slither of the octopus so that I could say I tried it. Everyone at the table raved about the taste. I did, however, agree that their oysters were delicious especially when dressed with a little bit of mignonette, lemon, horseradish and a touch of Tabasco sauce. I'm excited to now report that I am a fan of fresh oysters from the east coast, because apparently the coast matters. The table also ordered the canaletto stuffed with mascarpone, parmesan and another cheese, langostines and lobster with morel mushroom cream sauce, garnished with truffles. I passed on this one also as it was too adventurous for my taste buds; although, their delicious bread and our drinks did distract me for a little while. The restaurant is BYOB, so we had our wine to keep us company while we observed other tables come and go. We eventually asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty which was either untrue or a very poor decision on the part of the owners considering it was a Friday evening. Having someone occasionally check in with our table may have also helped to take the pressure off of the server who may have gotten overwhelmed or decided to prioritize other tables. Having a manager offer a personal apology may have helped us feel less forgotten about. After the three hour mark, we decided this was enough. I didn't have much to eat at this point, but I wasn't at all worried initially since I was there for the main event, the ribeye. I stopped a hostess who was walking past our table and asked for the manager. We were again told the manager is not here but can be called, if needed. I simply replied, "Please do". Shortly afterwards, I noticed our server who at this time was standing by the host stand briskly walk into the kitchen and then return to our table with our plates. I sent the food back which was a decision that was supported by everyone at the table. Let me tell you, that was a difficult decision to make, but I also was ready to call it a night. Our mood had changed, and I truly felt like we were derservant of having the same experience as everyone else that night. Our server apologized for his part to play in the ordeal which I appreciated since I know his intention was never malicious, but unfortunately we had to call this night a bust. He offered us dessert on the house, and our entire meal was comped which we felt was an appropriate resolution. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bread pudding which was a favorite. Very good. Jasper Stone is a beautiful establishment with decorative yellow and white floral arrangements throughout the dining area. It is clearly a popular restaurant and has many positive reviews. Such a cute vibe. This place although a little small, is very cute inside and the atmosphere feels very warm, romantic and pretty. The food was pretty delicious. I came here for my birthday and we ordered a bunch of different steaks, lamb chops, and pasta. Everything was yummy. The only complaint I have was the service was not great. They were friendly enough, but so slow. We had to track them down multiple times just to order. They also seemed more interested in joking with each other than paying the guests any attention. I did like that it was BYOB but again since the service was so slow, they often didn't notice when we needed refills or anything. I would go back again and hope the service was a one off. read more

New Years dinner at Jasper Stone hit the spot. We went with friends and the palce was packed. A little noisy, but that is to be expected. Our server, Willem, was attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu. The menu is quite different from our last visit in 2024 - better organized and easier to read. We atarted by ordering a Caesar salad and Tagliatelle Bolognese to share at the table as an appetizer - quite nice and a good start. Charlie and I both chose the Creekstone Ribeye ( I opted for the Horseradish Creme Fraiche) and our wives both chose the Crab Crusted Halibut. all entrees came out cooked to order and piping hot. We also shared an order of creamed spinach. No dessert as we were doing that at home, but the coffee hit the spot. JS is BYOB so don't forget to bring your wine. On Sunday 11/23 I went to Jasper Stone had the honor of having BJ as my amazing waiter. He definitely knows his things from the beginning when he had to talk about the menu. I mean he ran the specials down and it had to be like 15 to 20 different things that he knew them meal by meal that was so impressive to me. I am not even gonna lie. We ordered the Italian chop salad and it has olives in it. I ordered it first, and then I opted out of it because it has olives and my date loves olives in it so I said let it stay and oh my gosh, I'm so glad he did because it was finally chopped. You could taste all the salt in it And I am so amused that it depends on how certain things are made for me to like them so now I'm no longer gonna say I don't like something. I'm gonna figure out how I like it made. Olives? I don't want them and the fact that I am enjoying the hell out of this salad And it has olives in it 10 out of 10. Then I had the short rib rigatoni. It was so tasty. You could taste that meat with seasoned well and slow cook to perfection. I didn't like the Arancini. I also had Wagyu meatballs. Those were so moist and I paired them with the short rib rigatoni pasta. The restaurant is BYOB. So I brought a bottle of champagne since I was celebrating my birthday. My date also had a pasta. It was also delicious, I don't remember the name and I didn't take a picture of it on the menu. So sorry at that point I was having a blast enjoying my night and the ambiance of the place. The cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I took some beautiful photos in front of it I had to. Then I ordered the pistachio cake for my birthday candle moment. And that was one of the best pistachio cakes I've had. They said it was limited time. It's not always there. But I was so happy that it was there when I was there because pistachio was my all-time fave. And lastly, to break down the rating in detail, the restaurant itself is like a 7 my waiter BJ is why the restaurant is a 10 out of 10. I love when a company hires well. Says a lot about what they look for during the interview process. I have to rave about how knowledgeable he was about the menu and how passionate he was about giving great service. I chose Jasper Stone to celebrate my Christmas Eve birthday, and it was outstanding. I'm still recovering from major surgery and arrived in a wheelchair, but from the valet to the warm greeting from hostess Jaiden and the excellent service from our waiter James, everything was handled with genuine care. We started with the oysters (super fresh and briny) and grilled octopus (perfectly cooked). For dinner, my sister had the filet mignon, and I ordered the 26-oz Wagyu New York strip, plus a lobster tail for surf and turf -- all cooked perfectly. Let me start by saying the service here was excellent, so much attention to detail here. The ambiance is very calm and cozy yet such a trendy vibe, like a restaraunt you would find in NYC. We tried baked clams and firecracker shrimp I believe. Both delicious. We ordered a Pat La Frieda Porterhouse which was so tender and perfectly cooked. The black spaghetti was so good. We tried almost all the sides and they did not disappoint! Crispy potatoes were the perfect crisp, mash potatoes were flavorful, Mac and cheese was creamy and Brussels sprouts were so good too! We had a great experience at Jasper's Stone House and will definitely be back. From the moment we arrived, the valet greeted us warmly and was very attentive. We had a 7:00 PM reservation but arrived around 6:30, and the hostesses welcomed us immediately and were kind enough to seat us early, which was a great start to the evening. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, and specials, and he was attentive throughout the meal. His personality was a little more enthusiastic than the overall vibe of the restaurant, but he absolutely did his job well. Now, the food...wow. We started with the fried calamari, artichoke Francaise, and tuna tartare tacos. Everything was delicious, but the tuna tartare tacos completely stole the show. They were so good that we wished we had ordered a second round. For our entrees, my husband ordered the filet medium-rare. It came out closer to medium, but he still said it was absolutely delicious. I had the gnocchi, and it was outstanding. The sauce was incredible and packed with flavor. My only suggestion would be to plate it differently because it tasted much better than it looked. For sides, we shared the burnt broccoli, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. Every single one was excellent and worth ordering. We finished with the cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake, and both desserts were fantastic. Overall, the food is what made this meal so memorable. Being BYOB is a huge plus because it keeps the cost down, although I do think a full bar is the one thing this restaurant is missing. This is the second time I've been to Jasper Stone and I am so glad I got to eat there again. Before even getting the food, the decor and layout of the restaurant is stunning. There are flowers and the restaurant is perfectly dimly lit. There are is also a nice area near the back next to the bathrooms with a swing and flowers to take a nice picture. As for food, I started with the bang bang shrimp. It was so flavorful and there was a slight crunch to the shrimp which I really enjoyed. The shrimp with the flavorful sauces and cucumbers made it the perfect combination. For my entree, I had the vodka pasta and basil fettuccine. Jasper Stone's vodka pasta is one of my favorites because of the burrata cheese at the center that and the rich taste of the vodka sauce which packed a punch. The pesto fettucine was also excellent. Special shout-out to the fact that the although the pasta was coated in basil sauce, there was still a lot of sauce in the dish to mix in have that delicious extra pesto. So good and with the lobster, chefs kiss! I also had the cinnamon bread pudding that was also very good. I wished there a bit more gelato, though. There is only enough to have a few bites of the gelato and bread pudding together. All in all, the ambiance, food, and service were all top tier. We were meeting friends and were seated immediately. We had fabulous service from beginning to end. Everyone who helped us was so nice and took care of everything we needed. They were happy to help serve all of the appetizers and pasta courses. Pasta was good perfectly and the sauces were delicious. For the mains the pork chop and Bronzino were all very popular. I went with the cod. It was very fresh but there was too much sauce and took away from the dish. We ended the night with tiramisu. They have a summer/spring menu and the swordfish was alright last time. This time, the swordfish Milanese sat in a mush of "potatoes." My swordfish was veiny and was kinda fishy. It was so soupy!! I could have eaten it with a spoon! The asparagus it came with was raw. They had a very good winter menu but they changed everything. It's very overpriced and you're not getting quality that is consistent. Every time you go there, it isn't consistent. I was recommended the Dover sole last time, and it was filled with bones. I kept having bones in it. Chef argued that there were no bones. Yeah there was. I don't recommend to anyone unless you want steak and pasta and want to pay for inferior quality food. read more

Came here for dinner recently and enjoyed myself, but there were a few issues. First, the restaurant had complimentary valet, which was fine (although I like parking my car myself). We had a reservation and were seated immediately, and the ambiance inside was pretty cool. It was dimly lit and there were some big (fake?) trees decorated with flowers. The tables were a little close together, though, and I was surprised at how loud the background noise was from all of the ongoing conversations. Not the worst thing because it did make you feel like your conversation was buried in the noise and therefore private, but it definitely didn't feel romantic or intimate. Service was decent throughout the meal although our waters were not refilled much. It's BYOB so I brought some beer for myself, which was fine but I kind of prefer the restaurant to have their own beer menu so I can browse the selection, try something new, etc. The complimentary bread and butter was very good! I got the beef carpaccio for an appetizer and it was fine but quite overpriced. My wife got the celery caesar salad and it was only ok - the dressing was not super tasty and I do not think celery is the best base for a salad. They did offer a baby gem version as well, though. I got a seafood pasta for my entree and once again it was not bad but very overpriced. For dessert I got the bread pudding and it was maybe the best part of the meal. Overall, the price tag for the food, which was only decent, made me give Jasper Stone 3 stars instead of 4. Ambiance was quite nice and service was OK. I would probably try another fine dining restaurant instead of coming back here. read more

Very converted strip mall vibes, but not in the best way. Our server was attentive and pleasant enough. I did like the added touches with how they present your BYOB--we brought bubbly as it was our anniversary. Also, were greeted with a Happy Anniversary when we walked in, which was a very nice touch. Food was pretty run of the mill, I have to say. My husband liked his stuffed clams but they were super small. My beef tartare was very fresh and tasty, but my tagliatelle was super bland. I waited to doctor it up at home and it was much better.. I did enjoy the pasta.. I believe they make it there, it was just not seasoned well. We did not stay for dessert. I feel like I may come back and try other items on the menu. But, New Jersey has SO many dining options that make it a very competitive landscape... so, this wasn't bad at all. This is one of my favorite restaurants in NJ! Its definitely out of the way from me - about a 50 min drive- but its so worth it. They now require you put in your whole order at a once, which wasn't required the last two times I went, but that's not the end of the world because of how great this place is. Its beautiful decorated with flowers everywhere. There's a photo spot in the back and although its bright in the photo spot section, that lighting sucks. We started with the rock shrimp appetizer, which was clearly asian inspired with the cucumbers. The spicy vodka sauce is one of my favorites. Its not the spicy and the buratta its the perfect touch. The bread pudding was chef's kiss. I wish you got a bit more gelato with it though. The cup of chocolate chip cookie dough gelato was tasty - I do wish it had a bit more chocolate chips and cookie dough, but it was definitely fresh. The truffle pasta was tasty and tasted very good heated up the next day. Lastly, the basil lobster pasta was excellent. The pasta itself is green and then there's a pesto sauce. Lovely place for an evening of fine dining. The decor of this restaurant is so beautiful. I felt like I was transported to the Tuscany country side with all the trees and floral arrangements. The menu is very thought out and it does allow for sharing and being able to taste each part of the menu. My husband and I decided on an appetizer, pasta, main course and then sides. It was the perfect way to experience the food and still allow for dessert. We ordered the bbq buns which were so delicate and flavorful. Perfect bite size pouch to start of the night. We then ordered the lobster ravioli and this was my favorite dish of the night. The lobster was so juicy and cooked to perfection. The sauce was out of this world. For our main, we spilt the cowboy steak and it was the perfect amount for 2 people. It was cooked just to our liking and seasoned well. All their meats are USDA prime and there's no question that quality is Paramount here. We finish dinner with dessert at the recommendation of Joe. We chose the Bread pudding with bananas, foster and homemade gelato as well as the most delicious, moist, flavorful pistachio cake. Of course, there was a happy birthday stencil greeting on the platter with the bread pudding, which was just a really nice touch. For a Sunday evening, the place was quite crowded, including, surprisingly a good amount of families. Now... Excellent service. Unfortunately the porter house steak was chewy. Had to cut out pieces into baby sized pieces, to avoid choking Have had a similar cut of meat in Luger's and Old Homestead without the need to chew and spit out. I'd go back but would not order steak. read more

Food, service and ambiance were very good. You'd never know you were in a neighborhood strip mall parking lot. Loved all the flowers everywhere. The food was all delicious and high quality. Ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. It's also BYOB so make sure you prepare in advance. My friend loved her filet mignon and the pasta I had was really delicious and cooked to perfection. The scallop appetizer was so good, i wish it could have been an entree. I will definitely be back! Reservations needed. We were there in a Monday and it was pretty busy. Upon arrival they had complimentary valet which was great due to the poor weather. We checked in with the friendly hosts and were seated in Joey's section right away. Joey our server, was one of the most energetic happy waiters we have ever had, felt like friends by the end of our meal. We ordered one of their pasta specials as an appetizer (white truffle pasta) and it was worth every dollar. For our meals, the Spinalis Cut (Rib cap) medium and Australian Wagyu Ribeye medium with mashed potatoes and crispy Brussels. Everything we ate was prepared perfect and every bite was top notch. For dessert we had the S'mores which was incredible too with a couple single espressos. Jasper Stone impressed us with its Valentine's Day decorations, flawless service and incredible food. We absolutely recommend coming here and can't wait to come back multiple times, they absolutely earned our repeat business! read more

We've been wanting to try this steak house for over a year and I finally remembered far enough in advance to book for a large party. Everything from the food, the service, and ambience was great. Everything I expected and more. The steak was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were extra buttery and creamy, and the spicy rigatoni pasta was amazing! The tiramisu was the best tiramisu I've ever had. It is pretty however going with a large group and sharing a lot of dishes was nice to be able to try everything. Not your typical Friday dinner spot, more of a special occasional. Overall great experience and the hype is real! read more

Beautiful interior, very friendly and attentive servers, a BYOB, and tasty food in the middle of suburban Monroe Township! This steakhouse is surprising and could easily be located in a town like Princeton or Redbank. My husband and I brought a bottle of wine and began our meal with a killer breadbasket filled with a variety of fresh/warm breads. Then, we had stuffed squash blossoms and the steak tartare and both were excellent! We shared the Australian 16oz ribeye (a specific recommended by our server), the mashed potatoes, and miso eggplant. The steak came out perfectly cooked and sliced so it was easy to share. It was seasoned well and in my opinion didn't need a sauce. The mashed potatoes were very creamy and cheesy, but a tad salty. They went really well with the steak though. The eggplant was killer. It was lightly crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth inside and the Asian inspired sauce was really tasty. To finish off our meal we had the bread pudding with bananas foster which was soooo comforting and delicious. Overall, a bit pricey but a nice experience. read more

After reading so many great reviews and comments for Jasper Stone I selected it to celebrate my birthday with my family. Son, DIL, 2 granddaughters, 22,11 and my grandson 7. We decided to order in a family style selection so we could pick and share. I started with the French onion soup and it was horrible. Tasted nothing like any French onion soup I've ever had and it's a favorite of mine at restaurants. The $15.00 cost for a cup motivated me to finish it, I didn't, ate less than half. For starters we had Mozzarella 8oz, the wedge of salad (iceberg lettuce) , the octopus, the Artichoke Francese, the Mac & Cheese. I tried the Salad and a sliver of the octopus which was very fishy tasting, like baccula which I hate, so you know what I thought of the octopus. The lettuce wedge was overdressed but I like it Like that but I wasn't a fan of the dressing. Can't comment on the mozzarella, I didn't have it, the Mac & Cheese was different, white cheese and not a flavorful cheese. The entrees we ordered were Wagyu Rib Cap, Prime Ribeye, Prime N Y Strip. I shared the strip that I ordered and in my opinion it was not Aged Prime Strip Steak, excessively fatty on the edges on one side and a major Nerve running down the other side. It's cooked to med well as I like it. The Wagyu again was not that good. My Son and DIL enjoy this at the Butcher Block in Long Branch and said it so much better there. Cooked to perfection at rare the way they like it. I did not try the Prime Ribeye but was told it wasn't great. Overall the steaks were ok but for the price they don't live up to expectations. Ruth's Chris, Smith & Wollensky's, and Peter Lugers are so much better. We had the hand cut fries, mashed potatoes, crispy potatoes as sides, the mashed were great the crispy terrible, cold, for sure crispy you needed a sharp knife to cut them. As for the hand cut fries I wonder. I owned a Nathan's and we hand cut a minimum of 200 lbs a day some days a 1000 lbs. and these fries here were soggy and in my opinion frozen fries. The mashed potatoes are the only ones in my opinion were worth it. As I said, it was my birthday, 80th, so I had the cheese cake which id a slice, came out on a plank board with HAPPY BIRTHDAY written in powered sugar, with whipped cream. The cheese cake was excellent. The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and informative. Had a long list of specials and rattled them off to perfection. The food came out a little slow and not that hot like just off the grill. Your waiter takes the order then there's a team that serves the food when it's ready and they do a good job serving the right food to the right people. Our visit was specifically for the steaks so no comment on the other meals that are served. Lastly the ambiance in my opinion is so so. Jasper Stone is located in a small retail strip mall. They seem to occupy two stores from what I've seen. It was December 29th, cold outside and so were our legs and feet inside. We sat one table row from the front windows, which were covered in drapes so you didn't see the glass. You felt the cold air although that was falling onto the floor from the glass I presume. If we had been seating at the tables next to the glass I would imagine we would have been cold. The interior is decorated in mirrors and some tree like structures of roses I presume to hide the support beams. The ceiling is open, painted black, with exposed HVAC ductwork in full view. Found the wall art "I make reservations for dinner" or something like that a bit tacky. I sound like a hater here I'm not, I wish it were better so I could enjoy a good steak nearby. Not the case for me or my family. My DIL's opinion that night was I'd go back for something with the girls as meeting place, her opinion the next day when her, my son and two grandchild had stomach cramps is I'm never going back. I did not get cramps nor did my older granddaughter. They seemed to think the mozzarella because they had that and we didn't but again don't want to say it was from Jasper Stone's food either. In any event a disappointment. P. S. Had to come back to add two things. The owners husband snd wife are at the restaurant and very nice people who do genuinely care. They do come around and check if everything is ok. I did not mention anything of the above and in a way I'm sorry I didn't. Second they add 4% on the tab if you use a Credit Card. A little pricy. When I had my f f restaurants I resisted taking credit cards for years because of the expense. After finally giving in years ago I found it increased my business immediately by 11%. It's a cost of doing business today, I personally avoid doing business with establishments that charge for C C use. I wasn't coming back anyway but there's another reason I won't be. read more
