I've eaten at Chili's like three times in the last month. It's been a great experience each time. I love their fajitas and their ribs. Tonight, there was a mistake with our order, but the waitress took care of it quickly and efficiently, and had a great attitude. We love getting the bottomless chips and salsa, which are free with the frequent flyer membership, and even if you don't have that (and why wouldn't you!?), you can include them in the 3 for $13 deal, which is about the best deal around. Usually the steak fajitas are a solid choice with tender meat and plenty of toppings. Stopped in on the 4th of July since they were open, steak fajitas were ordered and it's been revamped for some reason. The sides were non existence but the fajita itself was still the same tender meat with perfectly caramelized onions. I'm confused that they will now give you zero sides to top your fajita with when they used to include guacamole, salsa and jalapeños. It's currently the same shredded cheese and chopped tomatoes that come on the side. They did add a charred fresh jalapeño on top of meats. I requested a table for one and sat down. I looked at the menu and decided on my order, but no one came to take it for 20 minutes. There were plenty of staff members, yet they were incapable of handling orders. If you want to see poor-quality staff, by all means, go there. read more

I have taken my fiancé to Chili's twice now, and we have sat in the same booth both times which is a funny coincidence. In all seriousness, for a dining chain of restaurants Chili's is good quality food. I don't think I have had a bad experience or a bad meal here. They have a very diverse menu. Am I wrong or did they used to have the Coca-Cola freestyle machine because that's not there anymore. Our service is great with plenty of refills! Make sure you join the rewards program because you get free chips and salsa with every visit and their chips and salsa are quite delicious! You might find this childish, but I truly enjoy their chicken tenders! The ribs are great yes but the chicken tenders are quite tasty. read more

My family and I went to Chilis this Friday and I was surprised at what I saw and smelled. Two young ladies were cleaning off tables so others could be seated A young man in another area was in my opinion doing nothing but looking high and from the lingering scent he confirmed it. Then a supervisor comes and takes one of the ladies to the office and repremands her for not helping Mr High clean up, then the managers comes back and repremands the other lady in front of my table about not helping Mr High. When the ladies came back and from the look on each face I asked. I found that to be rude and unprofessional and I not one time saw him say anything to the high guy. Since this supervisors treatment to staff was inappropriate and unprofessionaly my family and I have decided to not visit the restaurant we once loved because staff should not be treated like that. So disappointed! Although there were many empty tables available we had to wait for 15 min. guess maybe they were short staffed. I ordered and substituted Asparagus for my fries as I usually do and they brought me 4 pieces of asparagus (which was a small upcharge). We usually go to the Chili's in Carbondale and are always happy. They give nice size portions of food and service is good. Needless to say-we will not be back. We arrived a little before 4:30, we had a large party. I went to put our name on the wait list & was informed that we would not be seated until 5:00 because that is when their large party server arrives. That seemed like a long wait, but it was someone's birthday & we had our hearts set on Chili's. Service was good. I ordered the beef queso dip. I wasn't impressed. It tasted just like the chili cheese dip I make with Velveeta and chili man chili (without beans). I joined the wait list thru yelp and that was fabulous. We had a large party and the wait was 30-40 minutes, which was perfect for the time we planned to arrive. The shocker was it was ready within five minutes! It worked out good because we were all pretty close. WOW- just left the most poorly handled situation. The hostess and waitress were pleasant and attentive. However, I ordered southwest eggrolls (commonly enjoyed choice) which arrived undercooked - delivered by someone other than our server. Almost immediately, our server checked on us and immediately offered to remake the meal when I glanced at my plate and she noticed the undercooked eggrolls. After waiting almost 40 minutes- during which time my husband finished his meal and I ate all the chips and salsa because I was starving- they delivered the food which I asked to be provided a take out container because we had already been there so long and he was tired of sitting at the table just to watch me eat. The MANAGER then came to the table and said "I'll comp you for the first order but you're taking those and we'll charge for that" WHAT?!? When I said that was not even a compensation in any way ( I did not order 2 orders) she said that's the best they could do. Very sad because I have long loved chilis -- it will be a VERY long time before I'll attempt to go there again. I hope the people who were in the waiting area and overheard the exchange and then left were able to enjoy a good meal wherever the chose to go instead. However, an hour later, another party approached the hostess table to inquire about their wait time and was told it would be an additional hour for the kitchen to catch up. The manager was unsympathetic, and the hostesses seemed immature, laughing at the guests' disappointment. Chili's, you let us down today! Like I was not gonna really mess around at all with a review but just sad to go from last time to this! I'm so glad I finally got to try the cookie ice cream (RIP Cheddars Cookie Monster for the ones that know!). I will definitely want to get 10 next time and but only be able to eat 1/2 of 1 of those even if I did get them all ! We got both burgers and they were just bland. The real reason for coming was the mozzarella bars and they were okayish. Clearly somehow could tell they were just sitting around even so soon after opening. The most flavorful thing we had was the chili and bbq sauce and with just with how everything was it was only 40 minutes after opening. I saw the pictures of the fries on the menu and the seasoning on them and was so ready for that. Instead no seasoning just basic okay fries with just a feeling of being let down. And then the waitress begging for reviews at the end with just feeling like being isolated as a table the whole time. Just seemed like did not care about us except with just the general necessity of being a waitress and constant asking of things we requested repeatedly. We waited 1 hour for our food to come out just to have the server and the manager say, it was a "system glitch" that our food wasn't put in. We waited another 20 minutes and the best they could do was take 10% off the meal. Didn't want the meal to be free but a little more percentage off would have been reasonable. Servers kids got their food before we did when we showed up 45mins before they did. Loyal customer and Won't be coming here again as this wasn't the first time. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to do a little date night. Our server was very attentive and sweet. My boyfriend got the surf and turf. He asked for it to be medium rare. When it was served it was blue. So, we sent it back (has nothing to do with the server, she thought it was not right too). She says she'll hook us up with some extra shrimp. The steak comes back with the extra shrimp but it's barely better than the first time so reluctantly we send it back again. Once it comes back out it's definitely well done, but not wanting to be those people and escalate the situation he deals with the steak but can't get through it since it's not what he wanted. Once it's time to pay the bill he does but as he's paying notices that we were charged for the extra shrimp that was supposed to be a "hook up." In a nutshell we paid extra for his steak to be finished. It's important that we didn't ask for the extra shrimp either. We get the manager and you can tell he's over this job, doesn't want to be there. Listens to the situation (doesn't apologize or speak for that matter but walks away) we he comes back I apologize and say we didn't want to be those people but no offer to comp, an extra charge and no empathy or apology was what really is lead to this bad review. I'd like to add that I've worked in the food service industry so when there is an issue with someone's meal ONCE there is an apology. When it happens TWICE it's a comped meal/or something added on the house. When there is a THIRD time issue, you for sure comp the meal. I appreciate the server by adding in the shrimp and I fully believe it was a mistake from her that it was on the bill - as I said before she was very sweet and attentive. The manager finally did return with a $5 dollar gift card, dropped it at the table and walked away. Like I said we didn't want to be those people but I was forced to write this review. Had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated when lots of tables were available because "the kitchen was behind". As a result, the entryway was packed with nowhere to sit. Once at our table we quickly found out that they were out of root beer and lemons. Know that it might be hard to get root beer on short notice, but couldn't someone have made a run to a local grocery store for lemons?? We then noticed 35 minutes had passed and no text. I walk in and notice that the people who came in a bit after us were already seated. We recently had an early dinner with friends in their late eighties. The parking is convenient and plentiful. There is a convenient overhang in case you need to drop someone off before parking. We were seated right away and our server was both helpful and patient with our friends who are both soft spoken but very hard of hearing. The food was promptly served and everyone was delighted with their meal. The servings were generous and well prepared. They have an allergy menu provided on the tabletop device or the staff will gladly assist with that. They don't have a huge choice of Gluten Free items but they will work with you to provide a healthy alternative. I had the 10 oz sirloin which was fantastic and my wife and friends had a meat topped salad which required a take away box. The restaurant is well lit and very comfortable. Our server was there when needed but didn't hover and earned his ample tip. He even took a picture for us without missing his other responsibilities. The staff was friendly upon our exit as well. I must not order the right menu item? Each time I go to Chilis, I'm disappointed. Shocked by the high calorie counts (1000-2000 calories), I ordered the 6oz sirloin. Not impressed but I ate it cuz I was hungry. And it was the smallest steak I've ever seen. My broccoli was room temperature, no warmth but it was cooked to the doneness I like. As usual, hubby enjoyed his fajitas. No problem with the service. Next time I'll be adventurous and go for a 2000 (flavorful) calorie choice instead. We did splurge and get the Paradise pie for dessert. Very tasty but too sugary. It could do without the chocolate and caramel toppings. The ice cream helps to cut the sweetness. read more

The waitress told us that her manager could take the dips off if we had the salsa comp and pay the $3.99 for trio dips.
