Tonight my son and his girlfriend went out to dinner at the Chili's in Fairview heights IL. My son ordered a pasta dish and asked that they not put any shrimp in it, he is allergic. The food came out and his dish was loaded with shrimp, he asked politely to get the food replaced and was told they wouldn't do that. The server then boxed up the food and made my son pay for food he hadn't ordered and couldn't eat. By the time they got back to my house, less than 2 miles from the restaurant he was having a full allergic reaction and had to be treated medically. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone with food allergies or sensitivities. The entire evening was ruined by the staff not listening and the restaurant not caring about the guests they claim to serve. Now a nice dinner with his girlfriend has become a evening at the emergency room. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD SENSITIVITIES OR ALLERGIES. Recently placed a delivery order with Chili's and was quite unsatisfied with the quality of food they served. I ordered cheese fries and that's all. When I received my order it was not only cold but looked thrown together there were only 2 jalapeños slices on my entire order and my side of ranch barely filled the corner of the 2oz cup. Located right on I 159 across Lincoln hwy. Chilis is probably one of the only traditional chain restaurants in this area to take reservations for a large group. I've been here with over 20 people for my sons 8th grade graduation and his friends birthday dinner. We called up and the manager made sure we had a tables ready for us when we arrived both times. Even was able to drop off a cake for them to store the same day. I've been here a fews times without a large group. Haven't ran into a long wait to be seated, I did have an issue with one of the wait staff but she wasn't even out server. They always have a special running , if it's 2 for $20 or 3 for me $10. Even if I don't eat anything, we can never do wrong with the margaritas. Their specialty drinks are always on point. The last time we were here I ordered ribs platter that came with chicken, corn on the cob, fries and these pickles. I love pickles.. But these were horrible. One bite and it was a no go from there. Stay away from the "special" pickles. I also like the remote menu that allows you to order food, pay games and pay your check all on the touch screen. Sad that it might take away jobs but it is convenient. I still would like some type of human interaction. At the end of the day... Yes I will return ... Even If it's only for drinks! read more

My husband and I frequently eat out and have found that there are some places that are just not worth eating at...where we sit there thinking... "I'd rather have gone down the street to Qdoba.... or....even ::gasp:: Chipotle next door!....than to eat here. This restaurant is seriously... A. Lacking in customer service. The waitress was not that nice and not that knowledgeable about what she was bringing to our table and she spoke in this dreadful monotone voice. Think Charlie Brown teacher voice except deeper. She wasn't very nice when we switched tables because the other pub style table was too close to the walk way and I didn't want to be bumped around by passers by. The table we moved to was sticky and I just asked... "Would you please wipe this down? Thanks!" and she said "I was going to before you sat there...." B. Knowledge of their menu in the kitchen. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap...they left out the tortilla strips that were supposed to be inside, filled the thing down with chunky tomato salsa and HUGE chunks of unripened avocado...nearly impossible to bite down on. They were missing several ingredients in the wrap and I was too pissed to say anything. The bill ended up coming out to be over 40 dollars...two entrees, two drinks...period. I am sitting here at the restaurant right now and I haven't even ate after being here for an hour already. Josh our waiter took 25 minutes or more to bring us drinks, my got the chicken fajitas and they brought it out after my oldest child had already had her meal for awhile already, my youngest then got her meal at a different time and I still waiting. The server didn't listen when I said I only wanted lettuce, sour cream, cheese and tomatos. I am beyond furious and can tell the quality of food, customer service and hospitality is terrible. Ordered through Doordash. Got cheddar burger, Chipotle strips, fries. Cheddar Burger's patty tasted like one of those $2 frozen patties from the grocery store. Two terrible tasting bites then left it on the counter for a few hours and eventually trashed it. Strips were chewy, hard to eat, and stringy. Chipotle sauce was a negative rather than a positive. Went here with my husband for a date night. We ordered a sampler platter with a brisket sampler platter. The food was awful. The brisket was overcooked and dry and the sauce on top tasted like tomato paste with seasonings stirred into it. The french fries were overcooked as were the chicken tenders. So in all we had a brisket sandwich without the top piece of bread, a order of fries, three tiny chicken tenders, street corn on the cob, and some pickles. The street corn was pretty good but everything else was awful. Pure awful. My husband had hamburger sliders and he wasn't impressed with his either. When we got our bill with the addition of two margaritas, the bill came out to almost $100. Needless to say I was pissed and I will tell as many people that I know not to ever go to this establishment because the food is awful and the prices are even worse. read more

Don't know why we keep trying chilis. I guess their Honey Chipotle chicken crispers are just that good. Tonight my wife hare the normal chicken crispers and my teenage son tried the chicken and waffles for the first time. Food and server were both 3.5/5, the person who brought the food, possibly a supervisor, was a 0/5. Tonight was a strange and unfortunately negative experience for my family. The food was fine, but it took about 45 minutes. After 35 minutes came salads meant for someone else, which we gave right back, then much later, 10 minutes?, came our food, with only one persons food initially, which started the negative interaction. Just beforehand we were seriously discussing leaving cash for our drinks on the table and going to chic fil a next door to actually get some chicken tonight. When the person who brought the food showed up with only one order for the three of us I asked if it was all coming and heard maybe a second was shortly behind, but when I mentioned that we'd been waiting for a long time I received a truly snarky/snap answer from the person who brought out the food. She acted like she was a shift leader or something, but if so she needs some training. If your customer has been there approaching an hour, you should know. And you should communicate with them about the challenges you're facing that evening early on, not use it as an excuse when it's essentially too late. It's not an apology to say, "well it's Valentines weekend and I only have three cooks." That was just popping off and thinking your customer should just have known and it's okay for you to be rude to them for some reason. Customer service is customer service. So next time start telling your customers early if you're short staffed or have a new team or anything else that might affect the experience, but don't snip at them as you're handing them the the second attempt at the food they ordered 45 minutes earlier. While we're at it, the place wasn't busy. Short wait to get in, only a few people waiting for the first few minutes, then light traffic with open tables being cleaned throughout the night. We were there 1 hour and 15 minutes in the bar the whole time. Clear view of the door and waiting area whole night. If they were short staffed they should've either been honest an not over seated the place, or shared that with us before getting our orders. We did not want to wait 45 minutes for our food. I feel for the server. She was really nice and may be new, I don't know. She did pretty well, but initially confused our order with another table's order at one point, which left us wondering what was going on. It s a minor thing overall and I really didn't hold anything against her when things became heated, she was sort of in the middle. In fact she helped bring things back to normal with how she handled the rest of the night. It was the person who brought us our correct order and snapped at me, she earned this poor review. I normally avoid conflict and making a scene, but won't tolerate being talked to like that for no reason when my family is getting increasingly frustrated. All that was needed was a courteous, "I'm sorry for the long wait and order confusion, we're slammed tonight and have been running behind, so please let me know if there's anything I can do to help make the rest of your experience with us tonight better" and things would've been a lot better. She said I didn't let her finish saying she was sorry and that's a complete lie. She said what she said (the three cooks and valentines weekend line) and was walking away when I called her our for her behavior. No sorry, just attitude. Not even an apology after I called her out for it. Next time think twice about snapping at your customer when it's your fault they're frustrated. There are plenty of other places to get food without the attitude. read more

I don't know what it is with these chain restaurants but they are all the same. The wait staff don't listen and the food is not appetizing. I opted for the jalapeño burger. It was nothing special. You can probably get a better burger at Hardees. I ordered it without any onions and lettuce but our waitress didn't listen and it came out with everything on it. I asked her for a another bun because I didn't want to send it back to risk having my burger come back with something extra. Our waitress then disappeared. I wil admit I go to Chilis more than i want to admit. I signed up for the e-mail club and I constantly get coupons for free apps, desserts, or a kids meal sent to me. My new go to menu item would be the enchiladas. I am not a fan of the beans they serve with them. I usually swap out another side option. I do like the sandwiches and fries. We were in Fairview Heights last weekend on business and decided on Chili's for a late dinner. We were seated promptly and the very friendly lady, who was our server (can't remember her name, sorry), was equally prompt. We ordered the appetizer sampler to share for our dinner with the sliders (no cheese on one), chicken tenders, and onion rings. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips are our ONLY complaint. They were crispy but a little greasy, so the server replaced the first order and the second was better. Our food came quickly, correctly, and was hot. I am a big supporter of reading Yelp reviews to gauge a restaurant quality before I order. In case of this "Chili's" the reviews were terrible with a couple 5 star ratings. Our experience was not bad at all. Our party of 16 walked in the door at noon on a Sunday and only waited twenty minutes to be seated. Our server Natasha was great. She delivered drinks the appetizers promptly. Our food came out in a sufficient amount of time and our order was delivered accurately. The food was nothing to write home about, but it was good for Chain Quality Mass Produced food. The Fajitas I ordered were good. Portion size was large and flavor was average. My wife ordered the Margherita Bowl and she loved it. Everyone in our party ( children to grandparents) were all pleased. The experience in full can be summed up to a nice Sunday afternoon meal with Family. read more

Totally disappointed with the service tonight. Our server spend a lifetime around the bar doing general cleanup and barback work. She didn't pay the atypical amount of attention to our needs (refills and general swing bys). Our food not only came out incorrectly (wrong table) but also 25 minutes past the usual time frame of 30-35 minutes. We had to wait nearly an hour, to eat; if this was say the dinner rush hour or they were totally filled up I could see this being a legitimate excuse. Instead this was just sloppy service by the wait staff all around. It seemed like they just didn't care that they had a nearly empty place. (Two Stars for "sucktacular service" from this shift, minimum tip). In comparison on our next trip to the same restaurant; our hostess and server was continually swinging by on a 3-5 minute cycle, even if we didn't need anything. Our drinks and appetizers were brought out inside of 15 minutes after we sat down and ordered. Our meal was delivered at the 25 minute mark with a nearly as empty level of customers. (Four Stars: for good service and got a generous tip). Which is why I've give this place a 3 star rating overall. read more

Everything you expect from a chili's. Service was fast, food was solid and the server was friendly. I love the consistency of this place. I recommend the ribeye, every time I get it, it is consistently good. The street corn was amazing and the el presedente margarita was mediocre. read more
