This place must just be hit or miss from day to day. I had lunch there and the service was good. Not fast, but definitely not slow. Seated right away and had iced tea on the table in no time. Waitress was very friendly. I ordered a burger (as did my brother) and they were both WAY above expectations. Figured I'd get an ok lunch, but it was nothing short of delicious. I've had good service before at the Chili's in Springfield and Tulsa, but this one is horrible. First, experience-wise--I placed an order with the app to have my food ready at 5:50. I go in a couple of minutes before hand, nobody knows anything about my order, and the guy who apparently handles to-go orders is on break. Ten minutes later, he gets off break, prints out my ticket and says that he'll go start cooking. What?!? I asked for my food to be READY at 5:50, per the app, not to start cooking at that time. Twenty-minutes later, I had my food, no apology or offer of a discount. Second, the food is WAY over-priced. Comparable restaurants in town charge two-thirds less for the same amount of food. Unfortunately this franchise is being ruined by awful staff. The food here is awful and that's quite unfortunate considering other Chili's are pretty good! Ok service. today was the first time in a while since we've gone to chilis...they are hit and miss mostly, but today was the last try. We sat at the bar and were really amazed at the lack of people since it was Sunday 'football' afternoon. the Bartender / waitress was Naoli, or something, we had to ask the manager because she was too busy to stop even when getting our order....we were talking to her back most of the time. We felt like we were very unwelcome, because she never said hello or 'kiss my a**' for that matter...my husband ordered a beer, and I ordered a bloody mary...thank heavens they can't do to much to mess up a beer...but a bloody mary with a tasteless mix is truly disappointing...the salt on the rim was over done, and smelled smokey, something that should have been advised before pouring it on...the veggies she stuck in were a couple of dill slices, and a piece of celery stock about about a 1/4 in in diameter the ends so dried out I'm sure it was left over from last week, no olives...hmmmm...we ask about the bloody mary mix and she was completely unconcerned, saying it was the way they made bloody marys...all the while never stopping to actually look at us...I wiped the smokey salt off the top and attempted to enjoy the drink, but found it just tasteless even after adding some salt and pepper...some things are just dead in the water and cannot be resusitated. When she stopped at the register in front of us she was ringing someone's bill, and at the same time she ask if we had decided...a few moments went by because I don't believe in multitasking like that...money receives full attention, and so does my order...so after a few seconds of our silence, she just took off. When she returned, My husband ordered the 6 oz sirloin, and 1/2 order of shrimp. and the steak came as he ordered it, but no offer of any steak sauce was forthcoming...it was a dump and run event...his shrimp was a no show, and he was just going to forget them, but she did ask if they had shown up, and went to get them...no smile, no apology, just another dump and run...my soup and salad came at the same time, the chicken enchalada soup is really good, even luke warm as mine came...the salad was also luke warm...the lettuce wilty and soft, but the croutons were nice and hard, enough so that I would have had to use a hammer to break them up...nothing fresh and tasty there...I ask Naoli for a glass of water with lemon and she walked off, I didn't know if she'd heard me or not...appeared NOT, because no lemon was involved. when I ask a 2nd time she thrust three lemons on a skewer onto my glass without a pause or even a pleasant grunt...the rolling of the eyes is what finally threw us over that line...and my husband paid our bill on the kiosk. We did something today we have never done before! We left NO tip. NONE. We're tipically 20% tippers, but increase that as the setting has warrented...you know, a smile being offered...a little chit chat sometimes...but today there was NO WAY this girl would be rewarded for her actions....perhaps she just hates people over 30, and we are in our 60s so we were SOL...The manager appeared, and we ask her name. The food was good, and our waitress once she finally made it to our table was also a decent waitress, no problems with her. Our dislike comes the actual running of this particular restaurant. We were a party of 8, knowing that we told them if they did not have a large enough table or even tables that could be put together, then 2 booths near would be ok. The hostess said that would work. She said the wait time was no more than 30 mins. An hour and 10 minutes later we got to our booths and they only had 2 menus available for 8 people. The manager did take our drink order, another person brought the drinks. They did finally bring two more menus after asking random waiters who walked by. Once our food was ordered it was almost another hour before we got our food. For a restaurant with employees galore, they were everywhere you looked, they did not function very well. They were not full to capacity because of their covid regulations, so with that many workers there should never be that long of wait times. I ordered a salad and onion rings to go. Once I got to my destination and opened up my food, i noticed they gave me the wrong salad. My girlfriend and I tried Chilis twice. Horrible both times. 1st time, over an hour and a half wait for cold, unseasoned food. The waiter apologized endlessly and said a manager would be by to apologize. Never showed. To compensate for our wait, they make a big show of making fresh guac at our table, because apparently, a bowl of guac with old tomatoes and some chips makes up for 40 wasted dollars. Before Joplin got their Chili's we would always go to Pittsburg. Since Joplin opened, the wait time is horrible, service is way below par, and the food just isn't great. Anytime my daughter wants to go to chili's I have to tell her no because again the service and food are horrible. My husband and I went to Pittsburg one time since Joplin opened and we've decided to just always drive the extra time to get good service and food. I think to help this chili's be better their service needs to be better and the food needs to be cooked better and faster. I hate waiting an hour or more for my food every time I'm there. Even when there is no wait for a table you have to wait for the server to finally come or wait an hour or more for your food. read more

I'm hoping that this review will service constructive criticism as I know that this business is very new. The hostesses greeted us very quickly and the waitress was very prompt, however once we ordered the food took over an hour to arrive. A friend and I got the two dinners for 20 and had to wait an additional 45 minutes for a desert while the rest of our table sat around with us. After finishing our dessert we continue to wait another 20 to 30 minutes for a check to be presented I would understand if this was a weekend that it could possibly get hectic. But this was approximately 8:30 on a Thursday and that adds up to over 2 hours of waiting time. I plan on coming back in a few months after you guys have ironed out the Kinks and hopefully made some improvements. read more

Tried Chili's in Joplin. Server was very nice and responsive. The restaraunt was very clean and orderly. Then there is the food.....the "Garlic Toast" was inedible as it had so much Chipotle seasoning on it that you could scrape it off with a knife. The corn on the cob was inedible also as the seasoning was absolutely awful. The prices charged for the food was way too much for the quality. I can see why there was hardly any customers there during what should be a busy time. Bet this place won't be here in six months. read more

We went last night for dinner to give this place a second chance after about several months. Food is still not good. My wife got the ribs with asparagus and street corn. The corn and shrimp was overcooked, the asparagus looked so skinny and wrinkled that you thought it was deprived or fasting, ribs were bland even with all the sauce they threw on it, I had to ask for sour cream three times, and asked for a spoon twice. We tipped our waitress regardless only because we know they hardly make anything. We didn't tip for great service, nor for the food. Step it up Chili's! read more

Just left chili's the worst experience i have ever had at any restaurant i have ever been to. Lousy service, out of vegetables only FF which i can't eat. my sandwich was just barely done. The manager is worthless as they come needs to be replaced with someone who knows how to run a restaurant. Apparently, we interrupted her story time when we walked in, because when the other host walked away from her to seat us, she rolled her eyes and said "I'll just finish telling you when you get back..". The cheese fries had very little cheese, and where there was cheese it was burned. Definitely not an appetizer worth $8. The fries were soggy. Queso was flavorless. The bartender was within ear shot and I could hear her talking to bar guest (an off the clock employee) about how drunk she got at JBs the night before. Not happy, and will not return. Gave it two chances. Just awful. We've tried to do the call ahead both times, and they would not take our name due to supposedly they had no wait time. Get there both times within fifteen mins of calling and there's people waiting inside and out. Explained the second time we called about the previous visit, and they still assured us no wait time. Fajita's came non sizzling on the skillet, and the chicken strips looked like the tyson strips that come out of a bag that you would put on a cheap salad. Had the waitress take half our order, then I guess assume the other three weren't eating for some reason and had to be stopped from walking off to take the rest. Half the staff give off the vibe that they just don't care. Never got refills the second time. Had some of our table get their food after everyone else was half-way done. Came here to eat dinner with family on Sunday & it was BAD I mean UGLY. For apps we order southwest egg rolls & smoked wing... We got plain wings. Wife order Tilapia and they bring chicken so sent order back but all they did is put Tilapia and give us same plate instead of make whole new plate (we know this because chicken comes with mashed potatoes so the they put tilapia with mashed potatoes). I ordered Blackened Salmon and I got regular fish so I end up sending my plate back. Again instead of cooking new fish all they did is put Cajun seasoning on fish and bring it out. We have gone a few times, because we have always liked Chili's in Broken Arrow OK! Each time we visit this location, the food has came out wrong! FF are always cold or barely warm. I ordered a salad and asked for no tomatoes, it came out covers with tomatoes. I sent it back and they picked most of them off and covered the rest with cheese. I sent it back again and asked for a new salad. Waitress was mad that I wouldn't just eat the tomatoes. Next visit I ordered my burger med rare and it was well done. I sent it back and after the third burger coming out well done, I gave up! I went again today. Ordered my burger med rare and my daughter prefer hers well done. My came out well done and hers was med well pink. Sent both burgers back and hers came out right but mine was well done again. Sent it back again and it still came out well done. I have been to many Chili's restaurants but the one in Joplin, MO is on the bottom of my list. When we walked in we were quickly greeted and seated, no problem there, but we were instantly bombarded with blaring screeching music. It's bad enough the acoustics are terrible and all one hears (beside the music) is a hundred people talking at one time, and trying to talk over the music. It was the kind of music restaurants play when they want people to leave quickly. It worked. I was hoping to have a nice relaxing meal and some conversation but that sure didn't happen. My husband wanted tacos and the only choice was a 3 taco meal with rice and beans. He only wanted two tacos as the meal was too much food, but since Chili's doesn't offer ala carte, he paid $10 for two tacos. They had us, so what could we do. I ordered my meal, soup & salad which was okay. It's my go to meal but this one was Luke warm, yeah, the salad too. We didn't have time to get another as we had somewhere to be so we just paid the bill and let it go. Before we left I asked if I could have my free chips and salsa to go, and was told since I already paid the bill NO. They would make up a new bill she said, if I wanted, but I believe that would mean cancelling the first one and rewriting it again and since we didn't have time we just skipped it. Not happy.
