Always great service at Chili's!l, especially today when we messed up our own order. They took care of it for us.

Cajun chicken Pasta. Dry, salty, hairy, gross.
    Julie H.

I'm really not sure how this place stays in business. This was probably one of the grossest experiences in a restaurant that I've ever had. We waited 30 minutes for a table just to be told to "sit anywhere you want." So we sat at a booth in the bar area. Our waitress was also the bartender and we she was far too busy to juggle both. All the food was bad because everything was cold when we finally got it, which was about 30 minutes. I know my food had been sitting at least 15 minutes. I ordered the Cajun pasta with chicken. It was so cold the top of it had dried out already and was a totally different color than underneath, just look at the photo. It's not what it used to be years ago, it's sooooo salty now and this is coming from someone who likes salty food generally. It's just heated up processed crap that had sat out a long time before they brought it to me. I ended up finding a black hair in it a couple bites in and took the rest home to feed our pigs...literally. My husband ordered the ribs and chicken crisper combo. It was all cold, literally all of it. Ordered 2 for 1 modelo beers and they were flat. Look, the only reason we came is because we had a gift card but will never ever go back. We just bought ourselves $68 worth of diahrea.

Chicken Fajitas could have had better taste. Visually like fajitas brown. Too white . Needed a tan.

The pork chops were very good as usual. The chili was very good as usual but here comes the salad. What is it about a take out salad that makes it so much more different than if you order it in the restaurant. Is there two different batches of lettuce? The lettuce tasted like it had been soaked in water all day, and there were so many lettuce chunks in the salad it was basically a wedge salad. There were barely any eggs on the salad (which if my favorite part). Thank God I had extra cheese from the chili. I asked for Extra ranch. All I got was the small little container of ranch. Needless to say that was a wasted side. This isn't the first time we have had this issue with the salads for takeout. The thing that blows my mind and has been a constant issue, is time. They tell you 20-30 minutes and then you arrive within that time frame only to wait another 20-30 minutes on your food. To me that's poor customer service. When you ask about it or say anything they just give you a free appetizer coupon. It's one of our favorite places to get salads but I will not order takeout salads ever again.

It then took approximately 15-20 minutes for our food order to be taken, and about 28 minutes for the food to arrive. The food itself was tasty, as usual. We found out after we sat down that they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 am on Fridays, in order to prep the kitchen for all the fish frying they do. The restaurant feels like you'd expect for a place called "Pop's"; very homey, a little old-fashioned, but comfortable. We snagged a table for four to wait for my parents to arrive, and the nicest waitress I've ever met brought us coffee and water. (The coffee was surprisingly good, by the way.) Once my parents arrived, we were able to order: Chicken Fried Steak, corn bread and macaroni & cheese and potato salad for me (plus a bonus biscuit brought by our kind waitress); French Dip sandwich for my husband; chicken livers with corn and mashed potatos for mom (don't judge her...I already did haha); beef steak with mashed potatoes and tater tots for dad. My husband also ordered a plate of the spicy pickles for the table, though my mom - who will eat fried chicken livers at 12 pm on a Thursday - refused to touch them. The pickles came out quickly, and were served with two spicy ranch and one regular ranch for dipping. My dad, husband and I went to town on them - crispy, perfectly fried and paired well with the sauces - while my mom looked on. It didn't take long for the menfolk to clear the plate of pickles, so we waited. And we waited. And then we waited some more. Our waitress stopped by a few times to refill our coffee and water, and to give us updates on the food. She did apologize that it was taking so long, at least. Once the food did come out, we all fairly fell on our plates. The chicken fried steak was decent, and had some good flavor. The mac and cheese was good, the potato salad was zesty. The biscuit was big and fluffy on the inside, with a slight crisp to the crust. Perfect. My least favorite thing was the cornbread muffin, it was bland to me. Everybody else loved their meals, though my mom kept saying how big the serving was. It was like the kitchen took every chicken liver they had in the fridge, fried it up and dumped it on her plate. There was no way she was going to eat everything, so she pushed some over to my husband, the only other human at that table who would have been inclined to help her with her meal. We all pushed away from the table over 90 minutes later, sated by the meal and pleased by the service.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The food, the atmosphere & the people are amazing.read more

I have eaten at Cheddar's before but typically not watching what I was eating. They have a vast menu of quality downhome options. As I'm on a health journey, this will focus on their healthier options. The restaurant itself is in a busy part of Kingsport that has many restaurants of different kinds. It was clean and well laid out. There was ample parking and it was easy to get to. The service was good, as the waitress was attentive and checked on me regularly. She brought out the honey buttered croissant and was able to make recommendations. As for the food, there was several healthy options. A couple types of chicken, sirloin steaks, and fish options (salmon and white fish). I chose the Lemon Pepper chicken breast with rice and carrots and green beans as the side. The chicken was very good and flavorful. There were 2 breasts included so it was nice and filling. The rice was just enough to supplement the chicken with a little bit of carbs. The carrots were tender but lacked flavor. The green beans were average. Overall, this location was clean and friendly and had some healthy options to allow health conscious patrons some options. The chicken was very tasty while the carrots and green beans were pretty standard.

It has a cool vibe with music and attentive servers. I love the mounts on the wall. We got here around 5:20 and people kept streaming in. I'm a spice fan, and their chili wasn't spicy, but the chili was thick and really good. Beer selection is pretty good; lots of domestic beers and some on draft. The food was very good: their fried banana peppers and fried pickles are fantastic. I had their spicy burger without a bun (sorry, no pic) and loved it. Overall, we really liked our visit.

We went on a Tuesday evening and there was only a handful of patrons at the bar and a few tables. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. She had us find a seat and was quick to get drinks and appetizer orders. The menu had many interesting items including about 10 different hot dogs and 10-15 different burgers. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. We had deviled eggs with pimento cheese and fried banana peppers for an appetizer. Both were large and fed multiple people. The eggs were a little disappointing because they were just hard boiled eggs hollowed out with pimento cheese put in place of the yolk. Would have been more interesting to see how it could have been made with the yolk as well. The banana peppers were tasty with a good balance of sweet and crunchy. I had the burger with spicy goat cheese and the banana peppers. Overall the burger was delicious with many layers of flavor. It's a smash patty type burger with crisp edges and cooked well done. While my preference is a thicker juicy burger, this has lots of flavor to it and the unique combinations gave everyone something to try. My side was pickle fries and these were excellent. Some of the best fried pickles I've had. Overall a delicious meal for a very reasonable price.
