Riverbend was okay. Just okay. But it's one of only a few options if you're at this small airport…read moreand want a meal you didn't carry in with you. The food was average at best. Several of us ordered Barbecue (provided by another local, and very good restaurant), but it still easily took 30 minutes for it to come out, along with the other food that wasn't BBQ. When it did, it the BBQ was cold and dry. Then we had to ask for BBQ sauce. And it wasn't clear why food that we knew was already prepared took so long to come to the table. My son (as he often does) ordered a plain hamburger. It came out with cheese, so they had to take it back to make it right. The waitstaff was definitely polite (making this a two-star review instead of a one-star review) but incredibly slow. Interestingly, our waitress offered up that it was a "crazy day" and they were busy because people hadn't showed up to work, but from what we could see, there were only another 5-7 people in the restaurant. No one was busy. There appeared to be at least two waitresses working, as well as another fellow who was clearly helping from the back. No one seemed to be in a hurry though, and given how few customers there were, we were a bit baffled at the comment about being so busy. The gent who wasn't waitstaff actually interacted with us quite a bit more than our waitress did. Another fellow who seemed to be the manager also came to our table a few times to ask how things were. When we were finished with our meals, it took entirely too long to get the waitress to come back by with the check. It seemed the staff would be very aware they're working inside an airport, with customers who are most likely on a schedule to catch a flight. Thankfully we were there early and not in a rush. While we waited, at least one other table of three had to get up and poke a head into the kitchen to find someone to pay. while that fellow paid, his colleagues rushed off, presumably to make their flight(s). This restaurant was one of two that we ate at with very similar food and staff issues during our week-long visit to Little Rock. If it wasn't for several other places we visited on the trip that were good (and even amazing), I might have though I was mistaking a more casual/relaxed style of service with bad service. But I know that's not the case when there were several other establishments we visited that put this place to shame. If you have the time and need a meal at the airport, give it a go. Otherwise, I recommend checking out another establishment or eating before you arrive.

I fly to Little Rock about once a month and usually stop in for a soda and to catch whatever is on…read morethe TV while I wait. I have been flying back and forth for the better part of four years and I have never had any issues. I wouldn't give it 4 stars but its not what I would call a dive either. Its small, comfortable and not a bad place at all to kill some time waiting for your next flight. I usually come in, order a soda and be on my way. Today, after having been told my flight would be delayed from 3pm to a take off time of 9pm I stop in, pull up a chair and plant myself in front of the TV. The news is on and I figured I would catch a quick sound bite. "Excuse me can I help you" In the voice that makes you feel like you did something wrong or you are not in a place you should be. I say "No, thank you...I'm just catching the news" "Well you are in a seat for my paying customers" a rather overweight man says in THAT voice and asks me to move. I later found out his name was James. "No problem" I say.....I move...Hey...I'm tired, its going to be a long wait, and I just wanted to catch the news. No problem. I have to make way for the paying customers right? so I move. "No, not that seat, paying customers sit there too" I look around and choose another seat "No, not there either..." he says.... There are two other gentlemen who were paying their tab and getting ready to leave and he was speaking to me in the LOUD ENOUGH SO EVERYONE can hear tone. "But there are no customers in here at all, and the two that were just left if anyone comes in I will just move." I tell him. "Well if you are there they won't come in" Now I want you to look at the picture I posted, when I say there were no customers there....there were none. Zero. Also look at the picture posted of the airport....there were very few people in the airport as well. It was 4pm, on a Monday at Little Rock Airport. After his "audience" leaves he comes back in to say "oh well there are no delays so you can have a seat." Now I have been in this place many times before. Sometimes I buy a soda sometimes I catch the news but when I come in I'm usually in Military Uniform. Today I was in civilian clothes, and was spoken to by this underpaid, overweight, barely making minimum white employee. (yes it had racial undertones) and told to "Make way" Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy......this is not the place you want to dignify with your presence, there are better place trust me.

The beer, the burger and the bartender made my 4 hour stay in the hot box they were calling an airport almost bearable. One burger and Two IPA's later, I was a bit more prepared to withstand the heat.

When you walk inside, it's a bit of a rustic brewery feel. We were seated by the host and we happened to be there on a day they were serving brunch. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by a large family with several kids which were seated at the same communal table that wasn't big enough to hold the family, which made the experience feel more crowded and distracting than we would have preferred. I ordered the love honey bock which was a full bodied beer flavored with Arkansas honey and was very good. As for the food, I ordered the brisket hash which was extremely dry and had to drown the brisket in salsa to finish it. If I'm in the area I would stop in for beer but would probably pass on brunch.
