I'm not a person to complain, but I did let our waitress know. I told her to tell the cook the chicken needed to go just a bit longer. She was super nice and said she would tell her manager. I come here about every 3 months for one thing, the all you can eat soup and salad for lunch. The last couple of times the service has been slow and it takes way too long to bring another plate of salad or bowl of soup ( I only get 2 of each), but I continued to come because it was an OK lunch. Well, this last time is my last time. For starters, I eat lunch around 11. I arrive at 11:10 and sit. And sit. It was real entertaining watching all of the servers chatting with each other feet away from me. A coworker and I stepped out for lunch on Friday and couldn't decide where to eat, so we just drove down Poplar Level until something struck our fancy. When she mentioned Chili's and I said I had never been, that's what we picked. For starters, I like the setup of this restaurant. There's a bar, but it's off to the left and pretty divided from the rest of the seating. I think it's nice that it's separate. There are plenty of TVs on the bar side and then a few set up sporadically on the casual dining side. One downside to the setup, however, is the small and a little bit awkward waiting area. There was a lunch rush while we were there so it was too crowded standing in the doorway. We were seated quickly, greeted quickly by our waiter. When we both ordered sweet teas he suggested a mango tea which we both ended up getting. Good flavor, but there was too much of the mango syrup. Having never been here, I had a tough time making a decision. My coworker gave me a few suggestions so I went off of that and got the Quesadilla Explosion Salad. I also ordered this with a few slices of avocado so I could chop those up and add them to the salad. I really enjoyed this and I don't normally order salads when I go out. The portion was huge and just smothered in all sorts of ingredients. Not to brag on my own decisions, but I thought the avocado was a great addition to the salad. They also have the little electronic doohickeys at every table where you can play games and even close out your tab. I'm a big fan of those at chain restaurants. Our waiter ended up getting pretty busy as we were wanting to leave, so it was nice to be able to pay without waiting for him. All-in-all, a good experience. I reminded him of the 2 for $22 menu so he was sold. Once there we actually saw the 2 for $34 which includes (wait for it), an appetizer, two margaritas, two entrees and a dessert. Woah. Hold the phone chuck. Now I know chilis is probably not a go to for foodies, but I realized there is nothing wrong with it. There are options for everyone... seriously! Health conscious, snack-aholics, fried fans... you name it and it's on there. I obviously gravitated toward their new chicken crispers, fiery pepper style. Which came with corn on the cob and fries. All of this was good, especially for the price. I'm a sucker for bang for your buck, especially when the food is good too. Now you're very much getting a Chilis experience, but you have to ask for Courtney. She was a rockstar. She brought me fresh fries (per my request), was friendly and helpful and just all around awesome. This was the worst chillis I have ever been to. The entry way is so small. They have a small seating area to the side. But everyone just wants to stand at the door way. No hostess on duty. Which made the doorway and even bigger issue. After being seated. Our waiter came took our drink order. And left. Dropped off drinks and left again. Finally took our order. This place can either be good or decent. They have never blown me away, but I've only been disappointed once, and that was only for drinks. The servers are nice, the bathroom is fairly clean (I only had to mention a mess to the waiter one time, and they were prompt about making sure it got clean), and the food is tasty. I mean, it's a chain restaurant. The flavors are good but basic, the food comes hot and plentiful. If you're taking kids, there is a little console on the table they can play games on for $3. If you're meeting mixed company and don't know what the food preferences are, this is a safe bet. Also, it's walking distance to the hospital if you're visiting. I went to this restaurant yesterday with some of my coworkers and I had an amazing experience. I really owe it all to our waitress Ashlynn. She was just so lovely. I have never had a waitress so attentive and considerate in my whole life. She remember everyone's name at the table(3). My coworker brought her daughter and she was having a tantrum as all kids do. This will be a long review. The last time my wife and I came here we both ended up throwing up in the parking lot before we made it to the car. Understandably we waited over a year to come back. Arrived tonight and there is no hostess. After the line started going out the door after 11 minutes I walked into the kitchen to find the manager and let him know the situation. He seated the groups in order from the door. During the course of our dinner this issue was never rectified and every single group that came in either got tired of waiting and seated themselves or left. I counted the tables that were empty and less than 25% were being utilized with guests with seven wait staff seen, one bartender, and one manager. There were also no bussing staff and tables sat dirty as the waitstaff appeared too aloof to bus their own tables. The best part of the evening when six different groups over 25 minutes bussed their own tables to be able to sit down. Everyone piled their dishes on one table. Finally one server asked for help in cleaning the table and another server said she was too busy to help. She bussed half the table and then another group that had been waiting over 15 minutes at the door without anyone coming up to them sat down with a half dirty table. The group asked a server before they sat down if it was okay to sit there and the reply from the server was' "I'm not in charge of that." During the course of the evening many servers looked at people waiting at the door and even walked past them without acknowledging them or seating them. Only one time did one server ever seat anyone during our entire 85 minutes here. That server was flagged down by a disabled guest and she pointed to a table two rows over and told the guest to, "go sit at that middle table over there". She then walked away. The manager was never seen aside from when I walked into the kitchen to get him and the one table he bussed about 45min into our visit. We have had bad service before but never a systematic apathy for service and pride from the manager down. On to the food. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the tortillas were soggy and disgusting. The chicken and the rice was dry. My wife ordered the steak fajitas. The beans on top were cold and bottom were lukewarm. This is common when beans in a container are thrown in a microwave for not long enough instead of freshly cooked. Her shredded cheese was dry, crusty, and stiff like it had been left on a counter all day. The steak was amazingly over cooked even after she asked for a more rare cook. The salsa was not drained so the plate was sitting in salsa juice. The tortillas were old and stale. They were also crusty around the edges. We have decided that Chili's must be written off forever and we will never visit another one. It seems that not only the service and management are bad, but Chili's also potentially is an unsafe place to eat in terms of health issues given the state of our food. The men's bathroom was acceptable but the women's was again, disgusting. The floors of the restaurant itself were covered in dirty napkins, straws, and empty straw containers. After paying our check and writing this review a server came over from another table to swap out our electronic table console because the table that she was serving had the incorrect console. She advised that we had actually paid another tables check. We asked to speak with the manager. Our server came over and again advised what happened. We again asked to speak with the manager. He came out and saw us and immediately walked back in the kitchen. The server from the other table came over to show us a void slip where the manager voided the transaction. We again asked to speak with the manager. He finally walked over with the voided slip and our correct bill. He told us, "Here is the void slip and your correct bill." We started listing our issues and he cut my wife off to say that the new bill was correct and there was nothing he could do. When she continued from being cut off he cut her off again and said, "How about I just take care of this whole thing" in a very sarcastic tone and walked away. As there was no where for the conversation to go besides ugly we left since the manager obviously doesn't care. We will never be in another Chili's. Ever. read more

On my quest to find healthier dining options, Chili's has become one of my favorite restaurants. Their lighter choice menu offers 7 different items at under 750 calories each. Unlike many other restaurants that I have tried, their lighter choice options are packed with flavor and when I walk away from the table I feel full. I recently discovered their Margarita Grilled Chicken (total meal 550 calories) which is a delicious grilled chicken breast served over rice and black beans and topped with pico de gallo. On Saturday when I ordered the Margarita Grilled Chicken the chicken tasted like it has been grilled outdoors over a charcoal grill and was extremely juicy. Often timeis we find ourselves stopping in for a light night snack and a drink. I would stay away from the chicken that's on their new mexian menu. the menu is a GREAT price and you get a decent amount of food. However, the chicken is both dark and light meat and just doesn't have the right flavor for the dishes they put them in.
