I would like to personally say that I have always been treated very good at chili's by the servers and the food has been very good so far for me. I have been eating from time to time at chili's from the summer of 2023. I have taken my daughters 10,12 & 16 and they seem to like the food and going there. I have gone to the north riverside location as well as the chicago ridge location like equal the amount of times and twice to the skokie location. We like their "3 For Me Deals" lots of good food for the price. I will continue to go have a good meal there as the price, food, service and cleanness has been very good for me and I am a very picky dude. I was very disappointed today. We had an excellent wait person, but my food was very disappointing. I ordered a new dish: the cheese steak sandwich. The whole thing was swimming in liquid cheese, some pepper & onion & a tiny amount of meat. Not worth the price at all! If your really hungry I guess this isn't the place for you. I came here on Monday after work to dine. Chili's has this 2 Fajita Special on Monday's where you choose to get 2 meats of Chicken, Steak or Shrimp. Also, they have $3.00 Classic Margarita's. I walked in and was greeted at the front entrance. There were like 3 young ladies standing behind a small booth. I told them that I would sit at the bar. I walked over to the bar to take my seat. The bar stools are not stable and very wobbly. I saw a small empty booth and decide it was best I sit myself in a more comfortable area. I sat there and waited, waited and waited. Ok hmmm Is anyone coming over to at least give me a glass of water. I finally saw one of the hostess and asked if anyone was coming to take my order. The young lady was very polite and said someone will be here shortly to take my order. Again I waited, waited and waited. The young lady walks past me again and she noticed that NO ONE had come to take my order. She was attentive and nice to ask me what I was ordering even though that wasn't her area. She took my order and brisk away and finally came back with my much needed Classic Margarita. Finally here comes my server after 15 or 20 minutes ready to take my order. Excuse Me. I will give an extra star because she did apologize. I had to ask for a glass of water and more napkins. My food arrives in no time sizzling hot just the way I like it. The chicken fajitas were seasoned and delicious. The steak was a bit tough and hard to chew and my rice wasn't good. I ate as much as I could and was just disappointed and ready to get my check and leave. My server came over and gave me a container to pack up my food. When she came back with the check. I noticed that my bill didn't equal up correctly to what I had order. My server correct my bill and I couldn't wait to exit this place. I wasn't going to leave a tip but my good side wouldn't allow me to be mean. It's just really disappointing that I had to sit and wait for 15 to 20 minutes to be served. Wow. This place is awful. Let's start with the manager. She is checking vaccination cards with her mask around her chin. Lovely. The bar. Our bartender was so sweet. You could tell she was busy and had a lot going on but was so nice through it all. The way they have the bar situated makes zero sense. Someone with no brain organized it. There is this huge cooler that also had bottles of liquor/mixers right in front of the draft beer spouts. The bartenders have to contort and injure themselves to pour a draft beer. After I saw that once, I ordered bottled beer. No one with any sense would put something enormous in front of draft spouts. Please fix this for your bartenders. It's making their job more difficult. Now the food. The queso dip. It looks like what's in a baby's diaper. It tastes like puréed hormel chili with no cheese (that's what queso means in English) to be seen. It was so gross. The southwest egg rolls were ok but chicken was nowhere. I'm sure the restaurant gets them frozen so it's not the cook's fault but talk about more terrible food. Everyone who works there is so attentive to their customers. We have had Jasmine several times as a server and she makes you feel like you're her only customer even though she is running back and forth like crazy. My family and I came in at 12:35pm to have lunch. Since we love Chili's. A party of 4. The place was pretty empty but I understand if there wasn't enough staff. Since, I also work in the restaurant industry. The host told us the wait was 10-15 so we said that's fine. Another party of 4 came in after us 5 minutes after give or take. Was put in the Yelp waiting list where we were next in line. No reservations made via app. Waited 30 minutes and the host skipped us and decided to skip us and take the other party behind us. Our food arrived but we were not given utensils or napkins, I had to get up & retrieve them for myself. My salad was not correct so the server took it back to be re-made. I waited over a half hour while my friend ate her steak, the bartender ignored us that entire time. We finally caught his attention & he went to the back & brought me what was basically a house salad with some chicken on top. It was missing all the things that make it a Sante Fe Salad. I didn't want to send it back again as my friend was just about done with her meal. I pointed this out to a manager, he was very disingenuous with an apology. My salad should have been removed from the ticket but it was not. I contacted the corporate customer service & received a very cold "form" letter apology & they threw me a $20 gift card which I don't plan to use. This is the nearest Chili's to me and it is one of the worst Chili's there is. The food was blah, the presentation was even worse. We did not get any silverware or napkins.
