This is really unbelievable. I went into Chili's with my family on Sunday. My 89 year old mother didn't feel like going but asked if we could bring chilli home to her. I ordered a bowl to go as we were sitting there. The waitress informed us that Chili's was no longer serving chili. Really! The restaurant is called Chili's. Always great experience, I don't have any issues with the staff or the wait times. Staff always communicates well and it's never too long a wait for the basics even when crazy busy. If they're busy they've always been open and honest about wait times and I feel taken care of. Unfortunately though most of the food is pretty comparable to other places and the reason for us coming here was blossom! It'll be rare we come in now that it is gone. read more

We walked in today (Sunday afternoon during a chiefs game) the place was empty. One other table in the place was occupied. The bar was closed off by chairs. When we asked why, the answer was "she is on break, but if you want to wait for her brake to end then have a seat". We sat, was served by a nice woman, who was pregnant and working harder than everyone. Then when said break girl came out, she complained in front of us about having to come back from break. This place was empty and from what I experience I can say she was most likely on break all day. We were from out of town and didn't want to find another spot so we did sit and wait to be served. During that time 2 or 3 families came in were not greeted and left after standing there for several minutes. My dinner experience was excellent. The salmon was perfectly grilled, and well-seasoned. The sides were also spot on, with surprisingly good potatoes. The waiter (Alex) was very helpful, knowledgeable (six years experience), and attentive, while the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. The $3.50 margaritas (all day every day) were also a nice touch. I can't think of a thing I would change. This was a great meal at this price point. read more

We had a great lunch at Chili's today. Nate was our server and he rocked. I was surprised to see an offering that competes with Olive Garden. Chilis now offers an all you can soup and salad. This comes with bottomless chips and salsa as well. All for around 7 bucks. I had that and it was great. Chilis has new menus and they removed one of Trista's favorite sandwiches, the Cajun Chicken Sandwich. They were still willing and able to make it though when we asked. This is the Chili's I remember from my childhood- solid, classic, American food, lots of choices, good prices. They still have some of the best fries on the planet. After a horrible experience at the Chili's in Olathe I received 2 $10 gift cards after wasting $70+ on my daughter's dinner. So I brought her here to finally use them. Our server, I think Ted was his name was effeicient and new. The chicken crispers is the only reason I'd give three stars. The elote corn was not so great. Too much mayo not enough pepper and cheese. They started cleaning right in front of before we could finish and that was a bit loud and annoying so we left. Chilis. If you have eaten at one Chilis, then pretty much you have eaten at all of them. I have been to Chilis in 6 states and at 2 airports. This particular Chilis at 119th and Metcalf is right on par. They aren't amazing, but they rarely suck. You probably already know what to expect from a Chilis, so I will just tell some stories about my experiences. My wife and I raised 5 kids. Because of the massively busy schedule, there was not time to cook, and the Chilis that used to stand at 91st and Metcalf was our family dinner location. Sometimes we would eat there 2 or 3 times in a week. For many years, Chilis was the family dinner table. We were sad to see it close. When it did close, we were pretty much past that phase, but we did start eating at the 119th street location. Our first experience here was not good. It was overcrowded, and half our food arrived undercooked. We did come back, and never had that bad experience again, but to this day, my daughter remembers her kids corn dog being hot on the outside and frozen in the middle. That 95th St Chilis is where I hung out as far back as high school in the 80s. Lots of fond memories of that place where the decorations that remained the same until they got close to closing. What do I eat there? I'm most likely. To get the 6oz sirloin with broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes. Also, the skillet queso is a great starter :-) Eat well. read more

Lunch with a friend on a weekday, we came solely because she got an email announcing Chili's was running a special for their Old Tymer burger & fries. OK, Why not? The presentation of the food has been bumped up a notch and the burger was good quality. Big thick patty, green leaf lettuce, tomato, and their new house made pickles on a brioche bun. Actually a bit impressed with it! The fries were very very salted with coarse salt, but at least they were hot and crispy. The downside to this meal? We arrived at 11:45 and waited 40 minutes from the time we sat down until our food arrived. Our section was about half full, and our server kept apologizing for the wait saying the kitchen was backed up. When our food finally did arrive we had to rush to get back to work on time. I was just dismissed by the staff for dinner with my wife and three children. The restaurant which was probably filled to 15% capacity refused to seat us because we were a party of 5. It was one of the most inconceivably stupid customer service maneuvers imaginable. If you can't feed a family of five at 7:00 on a Saturday night at one of your many empty tables, turn off the neon signs and go home. Maybe a warning on the website would've been a decent idea. We can't handle groups of 5 (even if their children). I suppose I could've had one child sit by himself near by. Needless to say, I will never return. Pathetic and sad. read more

We walked in to any empty lobby and waited 10 minutes before someone even approached us. The hostess passed us twice (another 5 minutes) without even taking our name. We certainly don't mind waiting but this was just awful. This isn't the first time at this Resturant either. I suggest you try a different Chili's or one of the surrounding restaurants! read more

Well what can I say about this place. From the beginning it was as if we had inconvenience the crew walking in at 930. Asked if we could sit at the bar. I wanted a couple cheap margaritas. The hostess asked the bartender if the bar was still open which we could tell he honestly just didn't want us there. But he shrugged yea and we sat. The restaurant doesn't close till 1030 and all 7 tv's were off in the bar area. They were never turned on. The male bartender never asked even though we turned all the way around to watch the tv in the other room. I had ordered the shrimp fajitas which came with beans that had pork and cilantro rice which I hate cilantro so I sent both of those back and asked for fries. I was told no subs which I said ok. I later felt incomplete so I asked for another margarita and fries extra crispy. I received my fries never my drink. The fajitas were ok. The fries were hotter than the fajitas. My friend ordered the chipotle honey strips it came with fries which were just warm not crispy at all. He was never asked if he wanted a refill. The bartender seemed occupied he had enough time to mop and wipe down everything but no time to serve. He was more concerned with cleaning more than serving so we asked for the check. Won't return. I am in town for business so I sat at the bar for dinner, as I typically do when I travel solo. The bartender was fabulous. He was very attentive, took my order, checked on me, etc. I ordered chips and salsa to start. It was delicious as it always is. For my meal I ordered the Ranchero Chicken Tacos. The tortillas were soft and the flavor was excellent, but the tacos were quite soggy. There was excess fluid at the bottom as seen in my photo. If the chicken was properly drained ahead of assembling the tacos, I would have been happier with them. All-in-all it was a good experience. read more

This Chili's, located on the Southeast corner at Metcalf and 119th Street, has been the go-to place for my girls and I over the past four years. Overall, we've had many great experiences especially when balloon man comes on Saturday nights.. Unfortunately, our last visit was possibly one of our worst visits, there were many service delays- finally, I had to get up and ask for a server to come to the table, the problem was corrected, but then 20 minutes later still no service!!! The food, when it arrived, was fine but we are certainly hoping for a better experience next time! read more

Went here on a Thursday evening with my family. Not a crowded evening and we didn't have to wait for a table. The restaurant was hot when we arrived and the manager told us he was taking care of it, and sure enough, before our food arrived it was much cooler. We shared chips and salsa for the appetizer, and for six people our waiter brought out 3 salsas! Yay! Our food came out quickly and correct and everyone was satisfied. The only odd thing was that toward the end of our meal was our waiter said that his shift was ending and that he needed us to pay otherwise it would be overtime. So our meals unfinished we paid and started to finish our meals, but our waiter remained and cleaned off tables. Of course that meant no refills or anything. Just. Odd. read more

Chili's has really slipped. I haven't eaten there in over a year. I went by myself for lunch. There was a sign on the door that said due to difficulty finding employees they were limiting seating capacity. I wanted to sit at the bar. There were 2 people at the bar. The hostess said I couldn't. She said it would be a 15 minute wait. I was seated in about 10 minutes at a booth in the bar. The service was fine. I wanted to order their 3 for $10 lunch. I saw it on line and it said one of the entrees was the Margarita grilled chicken. When I got there the chicken wasn't one the options. This was a major disappointment since that's the main reason I went. I ended up ordered a rare burger with a side salad. The lettuce on the salad was limp and seemed like it was left over from the day before. The salad came out quickly but then it seemed like it was taking a long time for a rare burger. Sure enough when it came it was medium well. I showed my server and he said he would bring me another one. So after waiting another 10 minutes the second one came. It was cooked properly and tasted good. I have always enjoyed Chili's and hope things improve but I doubt I'll be going back. I'm so disappointed in my short visit to this Chili's. The host was so incredibly rude and it was a waste of time. Our party of 3 walked in and the host rudely told us it would be 30 minutes, with no other information and didn't even ask any information to put our name down. Both ppl ordered fajitas, dish came without the rice and beans that were suppose to come with his dish! Went there for the first time yesterday for lunch. Really impressed by cleanliness and large portions of food. Husband and I shared a Queso and chips and had lunch special. Went there for my son's birthday, service was great the food was so so, my steak was not hot at all it was cooked on a flat top grill then a regular grill, I went there after a while and will not go there again if I want a steak. More specifically in the area of training the greeter to have the minimum social skills (including conversational English and eye contact) and the ability of handling that daunting task of writing down your name, the number in your party, estimating your waiting time and calling your name when it is time to be seated. Worst experience ever, I went today to Chili's and they add me to a waitlist saying it was 25-30minutes wait and the restaurant wasn't even full. After 45 minutes of wait I went inside the restaurant and the waitress just told me they wont receive no more people to go inside. A group of us, four to be exact, ate at the chili's in shawnee and the food and service was a 1 star - SO the next NIGHT, we decided to go to another chili's on 119th and old metcalf, ordered the same meals, same drinks and everything was excellent. Great Chilis!! Was welcomed at door by friendly staff who seated me immediately. Place was clean. I didn't see any dirty tables. Margarita was cold and refreshing and had a nice kick. Best Chili's there is. We were seated immediately during peak hours and our server had the chips I ordered on the table before my date even returned from the bathroom. He took our order promptly and politely, offering more time when we hesitated. We declined and ordered the $22 dinner for 2. Excellent value on that, I'll be full for days after those delicious chicken crispers. The food arrived within 10 minutes and it was hot and well presented. Chili's is a favorite of ours and this location did not disappoint. Possibly the best cheap date night experience in town. read more

My first impression of this place was a bit underwhelming since it had uncleaned tables, but the host who ushered me to my table was pretty jolly and made every attempt in cheering me up. My waitress (Kate) made me a real mean margarita that totally lit up my mood. The Original Chicken Crispers were great, with the right amount of crisp-n-sweet. But the Classic Bacon Burger was a disappointment, and did not contain the main ingredient - "bacon". I didn't dare to return/re-order - firstly, coz I don't believe in wasting food, and secondly, for fear of delay or any other things going wrong. I also noticed the floors were unclean too (sigh)! My server made sincere efforts in making my experience good and may be it was the chef's mistake, but how do you get an order wrong on the first place?
