Went there to eat with my wife and my youngest daughter. It took an exceptionally long time for us to receive attention once we were seated. Once we finally did order it took forever for our food to get to us. My wife ordered her item specifically without any beans and she was served her entree covered in beans! Great place, great food and great service. Chili's has yet to let me down. I have always had great service whenever I have visited. I noticed most of the servers on the floor were women, but I'm not complaining. I went the other day and it was again, another pleasant experience. The only odd thing was that our fries, mine and 3 others that were with me, all tasted spoiled or they were fried with oil that was recently cooked with something else. I don't even know where to begin. First walked in and their was no host. Once we were seated, we got put in the corner and waited 21 minutes until a server came and talked to us, while the table next and behind us both were tended to more than once. Than it took another 30 minutes just for our appetizer to come out, and it was dropped right in front of us, we are still looking at it as I type this, hasn't been picked up. My family and I loved going to to this Chilli's for dinner several times a year. After Tuesday night encounter with the GM it will be our last visit there. It started out with my sons chicken fingers that came out with very little chicken on them and lots of bread fried. We talked to our waitress who addresses it with the GM. He didn't come to our table just went and got a new order made and delivered it to us which was fine. The way he approaches our table was " Heard there was a problem with the chicken, I had some new ones made, but these don't look any better than those but here ya go..." Then he left, I wasn't sure if he was trying to insult his own food or me by that comment. To add to the fiasco, while we are eating he comes down the aisle of our table and proceeded to sweep the floor up while we're we in the middle of our dinner. Note that no one had a big spill at our table or in our aisle. He legit nearly swept my foot under my table. Being in the food industry for 13 years myself I have never felt that disrespected/ shocked the way this man runs his restaurant. To say my family and I were extremely disappointed/was a let down for our family dinner night out would be a understatement. This was very unprofessional and extremely rude. Last time I was there the waitress must have been new, she didn't provide 2 straws, wanted the table side guacamole she just brought out the normal one. When I was ordering she tried, correcting me....just an overall mess. I will tip 30 to 40 even have tipped 80 percent before but that time the bill was 90 or so as I was with my wife and 3 kids I gave her 5 bucks. If she wants 5 dollar tips go to a Chipotle, or hibachi. She had no business waiting on tables. Will not be back there. Food is okay, nothing special. read more

We used the thing at the table to pay our bill with a credit card & when I got home I saw there is a 1.99 charge for a ziosk game fee & we didn't play any games!!! As a matter of fact we stopped in for lunch & to watch the Bears game! The manager is going to credit my card. He said kids sometimes hit the button & charge games to their parent's bill without them knowing! I'm thinking maybe a kid did this after the paren't paid & that's how it ended up on my bill!! If it was possible to not give any stars at all that's exactly what I would do right now. Took my daughter to Chili's in round Lake tonight only to have the waitress not write down our order and apparently never put our order in for it to be processed. She left us sitting there for 30 minutes and never came back. My husband and I got the two for $25 meal combo which was supposed to come with an appetizer waited 30 minutes and then finally the waitress comes over to tell us that our meal was cooked but not my daughters and yet still no appetizer. Then she kept pushing for me to talk to the manager who guess what, never came over after being there for an hour and a half and having my daughters meal be absolute trash we just got our Paid for our meal and left. I wish there were less stars to give this place. Last night was the final straw. Waiting for 15 minutes to get a seat the greeter finally comes to the station then takes the people who just came in behind us. When we expressed disbelief , he said I doubt you were here for 15 minutes! Tried to call management and we're hung up on. This place never has the same staff from week to week, they can't even keep employees. Save your money go somewhere else. Soon we will be talking about Chili's like Montgomery Ward and Applebee's. We have been eating at chilis for many years and tonight was the worst experience we have ever had at a chilis. Our waiter was disheveled and not well groomed. While i understand they try to keep it casual, shirts tucked in and clean appearance goes along way when dealing with food service. Our waiter took our order with out writing anything down, and yep many errors were made. Five people ordered and many errors were made. Items were never recied and 2 orders were cooked completely wrong. While i am not one to complain and make a fuss we were so surprised we just paid the bill and left. Two of the dished we recieved were just not edible. We will NEVER go back to this location. Food is good like most Chili's. But this is probably the dirtiest location I've been to. Tables are dirty, menus are dirty, ziosks are nasty, bar stools are all rusty, and apparently they don't empty the garbage in the bathroom. There were 2 garbage cans in there. One was overflowing, with garbage all over the floor. The other one (in between the sinks) was full as well. I'm not sure how the staff could miss all of these obvious things!! read more

I NEVER complain at restaurants because I too deal with clients/customers and I know how difficult some people can be! I've been going to this Chili's for over 10 years and NEVER had service like this! First of all she served me the wrong drink when I was pretty clear when I ordered it what I wanted. Then when I reordered the drink, she left me with no straw and with how full the drink it is, it is near impossible to drink it without one. I had to get up and seek out another server for a straw. Then I ordered ranch for my sons chicken crispers, but she just gave us the usual honey mustard sauce. My husband didn't get the xtra sour cream he ordered with his fajitas either. When she finally brought his sour cream, she hands it to him saying "can u take this"? And walks away! Went to go find a manager who took forever to come out and when he does and I explained the situation, he apologized and all he said is I will have a conversation with her this evening......although I think that is what he said he had such a thick accent. Then it took her FOREVER to collect payment and so I had to go up front to pay. This was SUPPOSED to be an enjoyable birthday dinner for my son but it was terrible! My burger was ok but cheese was only on half the bun one small circle of red onion. So little frys u could count them just by looking at them . If you read enough of my reviews you will see that I often mention that I have food allergies. How a server and restaurant deals with my allergies impacts how I rate that restaurant. The quality of service at Chili's in Round Lake Beach really depends on whom your server is. I know I can eat at Chili's with certain modifications. I have learned this by discussing these things with several managers. The problem at this location is that some servers will not believe the customer that the kitchen can make these changes. Usually all that is required is no seasoning and a fresh chicken breast. I can eat out with minimal disruption to the kitchen if the server listens. I have taken to skipping this Chili's just because too many servers don't listen. read more

Ordered potato skins to go from this location. Tasted as if the fryer oil hasn't been changed since the place opened. Totally disgusting! Unbelievably bad night at Chili's: 1. Took way too long for food to arrive. 2. Not impressed with the new menu (although I do realize that's a personal choice) 3. The very first bite my daughter took had a hair in it. Waitress took it back but didn't seem too surprised. Let me tell you, when the very first bite of food at a table has something in it that shouldn't be there, everyone at the table starts checking every piece of food they're putting in their mouths and there's no way you can enjoy your dinner. 4. My daughter got the green chili enchiladas. First bite she took was a huge piece of solid fat. . Absolutely disgusting! Again, waitress didn't seem too surprised. Flavor wasn't good even on the non-fat pieces. 5. I got the cheese enchiladas. Asked for them without the red sauce. Kitchen poured sauce all over them (waitress did catch this) and they needed to be re-made. So, of course after waiting too long, now I was waiting even longer while everyone else ate. Worse yet, they were horrible!!!! I'm pretty sure they're just a couple slabs of processed cheese thrown on tortillas. I haven't figured out how they cooked them as the edges were tougher to chew than stale Bazooka gum! And you'd think they could throw a few green onions....something....to make it seem like something other than bad cafeteria food. 6. I asked for some guacamole in place of the red sauce. I found extra charges for this on the bill although there was no mention of the extra charge from the waitress when we placed the order. Also to note: The loaded baked potato soup was a driving force for my kids to choose Chili's, however, they've recently changed the soup to the equivalent of what you could get out a Campbell's soup can (watery mess). What I don't get is that there's no notation that the recipe has been changed and it's sold under the same name. My daughter got 4 bowls to go to find out it wasn't what she thought she was getting. Oh, and I just realized that their table side app doesn't acknowledge a credit on the bill due to something being returned because it wasn't edible, it adds it into the tip calculation anyway...WTH! On Saturday, 3/16, in the mid afternoon I went to this Chili's for a late lunch early dinner. I had not been to this Chili's previously; but had been to another of the Chili's restaurants. the food, on that occasion was very good. the service was very good. the waiter was prompt, cheerful and helpful. the two for twenty looked good. We ordered the chips with guacamole and salsa dip. the chips and dips were excellent. I ordeedr the chicken crispers. they were anything but crispy;. the coating was soggy. I pointed this out to the waiter, who told me that was the way they were suppose to be, if I wanted crispy I need to order something else. I have no idea why they were called "Krispers" on the menu. Soggy's, would be a more apt description. This was one experience, everything but the coating on the chicken was pretty good. I do think the prices are a bit high. I have to admit that the waiter was pretty good at trying to explain that soggy coating on chicken was, the way it was suppose to be. read more

Everytime I go to Chili's I have a great expierence. The food and service is always great no matter if its early afternoon or late. The servers are always friendly and fun. You will even get a manager that comes around to check on you and if you are with a crew. I love going there with my girlfriends and getting margaritas they are oh so yummy! Even going with my boyfriend for a relaxing night when choosing Chili's there is never a fight. I have so many favorites too many to list. If you like to try new things is there are new items to choose from if you wish or you can just stick to your same ol dish! I have tried just about everything and I don't have any complaints. Very disappointed in the Chili Queso Dip offered on the menu at Round Lake Chili's!! The dip was very watery-thin and the manager tried to explain that when they make a new batch...that is what happens; the cheese goes to the bottom of the bin! Realllllly!!! I am a good cook and know this is not a true statement. I was surprised a manager could pull off such a statement. Even though I had a coupon for this, I will not be returning...he recommended we should try the Artichoke/Spinach dip..."you'll love it" he said. Of course they ask for an ID so we show them, mine was fine since I had the newer drivers lisc but my friends was denied due to not having the "newer" style ID. I absolutely love Chili's food. All the time. I've never had a problem with anything. My only complaint was when we went in there yesterday (1-24) for my husband's bday is that it was FREEZING! We thought it was because we sat near the "To Go" area (which, by the way, they need to just put a door or something there because there really is an extra draft, but it wasn't just because of where we were sitting. We had out son with, and I was so cold, I wouldn't take off my jacket or scarf. We got our appetizer, but I couldn't (and either could my husband who never gets cold) take it anymore, so we asked to be moved (and told her why). We got moved to an inside seat in the bar, hoping that would help. It didn't. I put my jacket and scarf back on. I had to take my son to use the restroom...and I was astounded to see a LOT of other patrons wearing their jackets. Three people sitting in the bar didn't even take off their knit hats! It was crazy that no other employee noticed how cold it was and turned up the heat...until about an hour later (at about 7:30pm)...when we were soon to leave. I will return because I've never had an issue with Chilli's (especially not with their food), but will complain to a manager next time for them to adjust the temperature. :/ read more
