I usually leave good feedback or reviews when they are well deserved but this review is by far from a perfect one. This review is in regards to our recent visit to the Chili's/South park Mall. Visit occurred on Friday, April 30th(6:00pm-7:00pm) started like this. We patiently waited our 45 minutes to be seated. If I would of known how the server, I would of left, THE SERVICE WAS THE WORST EXPERINCE EVER, I repeat the WORST EVER. After being seated, it began with a quick hello I will be right with you, as soon as I get rid of those slow people on the other table. (RED FLAG#1) what server talks about her customers to other customers? After about 15-20 minutes of waiting, I had to stop the server (PAULA) Server: Paula said, give me a minute and I will give you my full attention. Once again, we waited. My male friend accompanied me during this visit. We often stop at this location to have dinner and drinks after a long, stressful day at work. Assuming that the server was going to return as promised. We were approached by a gentle-man walking around greeting his customers. That man was named Blake Mills and he happened to be the general manager. As Mr. Mills approached our table, to ask us, how we were doing. I took the opportunity to let him know that we had not been attended to yet. I mentioned that our server promised to return to our table but had not made one attempt to do so. I mentioned that we actually got so tired of waiting for her to return that I had to stop another server just to put our drink order in, Mr. Mills apologized for the poor service and spoke highly of Paula and stated that she was one of his top performers and that she might just be having a bad day. I understand that, we all have bad days, but the way she treated us, was so unacceptable. We did nothing to deserve this. As Mr. Mills spoke to us, we then, noticed that Paula glanced at our table and saw us talking to Mr. Mills. I took the assumption Paula thought, we asked to talk to someone in charger but it did not happen like that, the timing could not be any perfect. Regardless, after speaking with the general manager, Paula did not come one time to our table to ask if we needed anything nor try to turn the situation around or to make our experience a positive one. She then, passed by us and said very loud and clearly, "REALLY". Once again, assuming we reported her directly. The stare down she gave my friend, was horrible. Not lady, like whatsoever. We continued to mind our own business and just ignored her. It was obvious that she was not worth the embarrassment or the negative review that she is causing to your restaurant right now. We then, noticed our drinks that the first nice server took from us, had been sitting on the bar. We then stopped that same server and told her that our drinks were ready. She said, I will let your server Paula know your drinks are ready, which she did and WE CLEARLY HEARD PAULA SAY, LET THEM GET THEIR ONLY DRINKS. At that point, I could not help to get upset; I asked to speak to the general manager. I told him exactly, what happened and what we heard. He once again apologized on her behalf and said, he would write her up. I do not believe in writing up employee, as a manager myself of a big cooperation. I believe in coaching employees that fail to be a meet the standards of a company. I believe that employees that are not happy in their current positon should not play an important role in the company's reputation. If PAULA was having such a bad day, as Mr. Mills mentioned, she should of stayed home and let another employee take the opportunity to get recognized for their work and great customer service. Employees like Paula will give the entire Chili's franchise a bad name. On a positive note, Kuddos to the server that stepped up on behalf of her co-worker. Thank you Blake Mills (general manager) for doing your job and attempting to turn a horrible experience to a somewhat good one. He offered to comp our dinner but unfortunately, we never got a chance to order dinner. Now, to the server Paula- just because of your attitude and poor service, this will not stop us from returning to that or any Chili's. As the saying goes. One bad apple should ruin the rest. read more

Todays experience was a lot better than the last time we came! Our appetizer came out hot and fresh . And our food was super good. The wait wasn't long at all. And the staff was super friendly and on point. I think they may have hired a bunch of new people to the service was really good today! read more

Every dish brought out was dirty. From the cup, to the silverware to the plates. Had to cancel our order.

This was by far the best Chilis I've ever been too. The service was prompt, the order was correct and the staff was courteous and professional. 10/10 recommend! read more

You can't get any better at the South Park Mall and that isn't saying much. The food court is terrible and with the closing of Luby's (tear) the only sit-down, non-fast food option within a mile is this place. Overall it's ok. Usually a bit crowded. The service is lacking a bit. Today I went a while without a refill and we sat with dirty plates for the remainder of our chat. At one point, not one wait person could be spotted on the floor. Then that handy tip guide on the bill went up to 22%! Que que??? Excuse me?? No, just no! The food is good and my kid loves the ribs. The 2 for $20 deal makes it worthwhile. read more

If only there was an option for no star. We walked into the location, the hostess asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar or dining area, and said either area was okay as long as we had a booth. The woman then proceeds to tell us "Just find a clean table and sit down" instead of leading us to a clean table. We proceed to search throughout the filthy bar area restaurant to find a clean unoccupied table only to find them all dirty. We then go to the other side and ask the hostess if it was alright to sit on the other side and she ignores us so we proceed anyway. We sat down and waited for a good 15 minutes without being attended, the hostess walked past us yet again and my mom asked her if she could call a waitress. The woman stopped and made direct eye contact with my mom but instead of answering her question she walked away without responding. Another family sat down not long afterwards and they were immediately welcomed by a waitress while we waited and they had drinks brought out not long after. We got up and left after having wasted our time and being ignored. We left to eat at another establishment and were welcomed and attended by a lovely staff, the complete opposite of what we encountered here. read more

The hour wait was understandable but then my kids and I finally got seated and didn't even get asked for our drink order. Then 45 minutes later I had to get up and go tell the two girls that were just standing around talking, if someone could come take our order. Finally someone got there to take our order and couldnt bring us out our chips and drink in a timely manner. This chili's is all around worthless and closes at 8 pm most days. read more

My partner and I went during happy hour, only for the manager to tell us only the bar area and a few select tables qualify for happy hour. Which no one made us aware of until after we finished our food. We had 4 beers altogether and ordered an appetizer (thinking it was happy hour). We also ordered an entree each. We had no problem paying full price for entrees but everything else was supposed to be 1/2 price. Complained that it was happy hour, it was very annoying, although we did have 10 dollars taken off our total, it was nothing compared to how much it was supposed to be so next time you go, ask where in the restaurant its considered happy hour read more

Horrible service! Wait time took well over the 17 minute time listed. Half the restaurant was closed because they did not have enough servers. People were seated before us even though the waitlist stated there were no parties ahead of us. Waiter got drink orders and food orders wrong. read more

Man this is experience to San Antonio has been awful. We come to chili's and we get here at 12:15pm. The waiter doesn't get to us till 12:30 gets our beverages, and Brings them back at 12:45. Finally gets our orders and we are patiently waiting and he comes back at 1:18pm and asks us to verify the orders before he puts them in?!! Are you kidding me????! He barely putting in our orders? Mind you, it's not busy here whatsoever! What's the problem? He says well it only takes 10 min to get your order? Seriously we've waited one hour to place our orders? The food comes out at 1:45!!! And it's wrong! We never got our appetizer and the plates were all wrong! I spoke to the manager and told him what's going on and he said what can he do for us? Give us our food we need to go!! Arrived at 8:30 only to be told that the kitchen was behind condition about 10 to go orders your placed. But we still got seated, we order our food but tortillas were cold and stiff. read more

My wife and I dont usually visit Chili's at all. I cant even remember when the last time it was that we ate here. I'm very happy we chose this place. It was one if those spontaneous actions. Our waiter Chris was superb. Couldn't have asked for anyone better. He recommended certain items since it's been so long that my wife and I ate here. I had the Boss burger since Chris said it would be worth it. My wife chose something safe; Buffalo wings and Onion pedals. The food was amazing. The burger was too much for me to eat so of course I had to share it with my wife. Customer service was 5 out of 5, Food was 5 out of 5 and the surroundings was comfortable and relaxing. We'll definitely come here again soon. Given the fact that it was packed for a Friday evening of course, It was worth the 35 minute wait. read more

First arrived and the host who led us to our table had only got the dishes off but hadn't wiped the table or the booth seats then we had sat down we watched as the cleaned tables nearby using a dirty rag they had used on multiple tables I had ordered more tortillas as the waitress looked at the sliced onions then brought two tortillas back. read more

Sat at the bar area to have wings and a beer. This place is filthy. I asked for sweet tea and the girl at the bar grabs the pitcher of tea from the part where you pour with her dirty hands! Yuck! This will be one Chili's I will never come back to. Also had to literally flag down the bartender because she was too busy flirting with the guys at one end of bar. I don't mind here getting her groove on but not when it effects the service I am paying for. read more

When they sat us down after an hour wait when they originally told us 30 minutes, we then waited ANOTHER 30 minutes for drinks and they didn't even know who was supposed to be our waiter. We then waited with empty drinks for our appetizers. The girl took our order and we never saw her again, so different waiters had to come and bring us things we needed. read more

It's the same lunch, dinner, happu Hour. The only reason I've been back is because my Mother insists. The staff will ignore you and if you ask a question give you attitude. It is Thursday night, Cowboys game and we have a party of 7. We were told that there is an hour to hour and a half wait. Several big tables available and we were told that they could not seat us because there were not enough servers. This to me is unacceptable. An hour wait for a party of 7!! The wait to get seated no problem it's justified. But the wait on my food and on my waiter was stupid. Got seated at 9:44 pm got my food at 10:32 pm at that point I just wanted to go home. Wasn't for my daughter being hungry I would have just walked out. Now it's 11:07 still seating here waiting for the check I only ate 1/4 of my food. There was very minimal people in the restaurant, we had to wait 30 min to get seated which wasn't a problem, but we waited over an hour for our food, then when it came out, it was warm but soggy like it's been sitting for a while. It looked like all the waitresses were in the kitchen, leaving us to ask the hostess for things that were taking a while. So we went to the bar here yesterday and the bartender wiped the counter off right in front of me & my wife and got all the crumbs on my lap. No problem, I can forgive that & I pretended like that didn't even happen. But then she takes our drink orders and after about 10 minuets she serves me my beer but didn't get my wife's water. Again not a big deal but what happens next was unforgivable. As she passes us by for the 3rd time she realizes my wife is still drinkless and she looks at the couple sitting next to us and asks them "did you drink from that water? -No- Oh ok good that's not yours" she then takes the water from the couple next to us and then gives it to my wife! They had that water for at least 5 whole minutes & the bartender had the audacity to still serve it to my wife after it was already touched by someone else! ALL RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! Horrible horrible horrible service. We waited 20-25 mins before i went to ask why no one had come to our table. Mind you the manager was standing by our table the whole time. Then the girl had attitude as soon as she came to take our order. Then we didn't see her for 20 mins so we had to ask other people for things. None of us got refills unless we kept asking for one. Then the manager came, grabbed my husbands card and walked off with it and went straight to the back?? Then when he brought us another one of those things you can pay on at the table he wouldn't let my husband hold it for some reason. Then he gave them a good review on the survey at the end. The manager which was a tall white guy with a beard was horrible and the waiter i wish i had gotten her name was horrible. She got a 2 dollar tip which she's lucky she got that. Love this place... Five minutes from my house. Food is always spot on (props to the kitchen staff), wait staff is the best, management is awesome. Bartenders are fast and attentive (especially Sammy Jo & Marleen). Our home away from home for sure! read more
