This place is just bad. When we first arrived the man who greeted us was enthusiastic and had a great energy about him! I believe he was the manager after watching his interactions with other employees. He was amazing, but that's where the good stops. Once seated we waited about 10 mins to have our waiter come take our drink order. Due to covid, they're not using menus which I completely understand. They're using a qr code menu that pulls up on your phone. The waiter came to take our drink order, asked what we would like.... I had no idea. He hadn't given us the QR code yet. The manager had to pass him the code from over the next booth. Waiter seemed clueless. Finally ordered our drinks. Ordered food, 10 mins after ordering the waiter comes to inform us that one of the things we ordered was for weekdays only(it was a Saturday). It took 10 mins for them to tell us that. When the food finally arrived, 2 of our entrees came at the same time and the third came like 10 mins later. Bring all entrees together! The food was lacking. Burger was good but the Santa Fe chicken was straight up horrible. Chicken strips were, well, chicken strips. The blackberry and mango tea were bomb. Manager was bomb, everything else sucks. Let me say that I came away impressed with how the staff went out of their way to accommodate us on prom night. We had a group of special needs students with their chaperones and the manager (Christina) went the extra mile to make the experience awesome. Probably the worst experience I have had at Chili's. It took forever for us to get water and when we got it there was food inside the cup (maybe they wanted to give us an appetizer) we asked the server to get new cups and the second round the cup was STILL dirty. They messed up one order entirely with a charred bun, microwaved an order and the last order was cold. Our server kept ignoring us and the manager did gave us a discount. Lastly our server even gave us the wrong change. read more

Where do I start? We got there around 8:30 and had to wait around 10 mins to get seated. Once the server took us to the table we were just left there with no menus nothing. Another 10 mins passed and the same guy that sat us decided to bring menus and get a drink order. Mind you I couldn't hear anything he said so I basically just guessed and hoped we were talking about the same thing. Took forever getting our drinks but once he got there we put our order in. Took about 30 mins to get our food and the plate was hotter than the actual food. The server didn't check up on us and the sad part is we would ask for other things after chasing him down and it took forever to get them. My husband threw up the food while we were still in the restaurant. Worst $100 spent. I've been to several chilis locations and all are mostly good. Except for this one. Many tables open and empty for customers but many customers waiting to be seated over 30mins, and finally when you get a table not even the host knew who should be our waiter. Order was wonder never received our appetizers, give wrong sides and toppings we asked to not have were on. Charged for things that were supposed to be free. Had to wait for them to remake my order. Food was mediocre at best. The spicy shrimp tacos weren't spicy. The shrimp was tiny. The slices of avocado weren't fresh. My black beans weren't even slightly warm. My husband had chunks of burnt black tortillas attached to his tortillas. We should have looked at the rating before we came here. I won't make mistake again. Don't come here. The host is rude and has no manners. It took us around ten minutes to locate an employee and when we tried to let her know we were a party of 5 she didn't even ask for a name she just ignored us and walked away. I assumed it was because they were not busy so they'd sit us fast but I was wrong. We waited over an hour and the only reason we waited that long was because it was my sister's birthday and she wanted to celebrate there. There were hardly any people there but tables were dirty and no one was even attempting to clean. As we were waiting another group walked in and were sat before us. We understood that maybe it was because they had less people, but then the host started flirting with one of the guys and eventually just stood there laughing with him for another ten minutes. Inappropriate to do in front of a family waiting to be seated when the tables are a mess and she was just standing around doing nothing most of the time. This location tends to be very low-key and quiet, which I think has alot to do with the location (located in the southside, in a not-so-popular mall) I have been here numerous times and each and every time we have great service and great food. We arrived around 7 p.m. and were seated right away. Everyone was smiling and helpful. Our server David was courteous and even treated my special needs child nicely. Our glasses were full the whole time and the server knew the menu well. We frequent locations throughout San Antonio but this is the best by far. My first experience here I'd have happily given 4 stars but my last 3 visit were much less than what I would expect from a restaurant chain this large. I fell in love the Molten Cake dessert the first time my wife and I visited. I went back for a second time a couple of months later only to be served the dessert on a filthy plate. I sent it back and got apologies from the server who told me they'd been having problems with coffee cups being dirty as well. The second attempt wasn't really much better. I left without finishing my dish as I really didn't want to eat anything that touched the plate. We had a reservation today for my nephews birthday. We spoke to the general manager named Rocky earlier in the week to make sure we had a reservation. We showed up today and was told they don't take reservations. We asked for the general manager and he never showed up to speak to us. What a pathetic place to come to. Today I came to chili's to have a friend and family dinner when I arrived and was seated a server approached us and ask what do we want for refreshments we all said what we wanted and we got it but then the server said they ran out of straws in the back and so we didn't get any straws. So then 5-10 minutes the server had STRAWS!... straws in his pouch and one in his hand... and then I was a bit speechless then my mother said to another server if we could have straws and she said yes. And so she bring one straw to the table for my little cousin and then left. Next the same server comes the one that had straws gave us Straws! And I was like..okay and then he says "sorry we ran out of straws and I had these in my pouch." And he left. But then we got are food from other servers and me and my family and friends got are food at the end. Worst chili's I've ever been to waited over an hour hostess was rude. When asked when we'd be seated she replied " there's a party of 11 in front of you and they haven't responded and we don't know where they are " as soon as they get here you'll be seated next " so we waited an additional about 30 minutes for said party to show up which I thought was dumb since after so many reminders you loose your place in line . They finally sat us down and we were sat towards the back of the restaurant which was completely empty and it still took 10 for a waiter to show up! By far the best service I've had anywhere! There's a lot of variety here, so if your craving pretty much ANYTHING this is the place to be!!! I've been here numerous times and have never been disappointed! The staff is friendly, and helpful! And the managers are always walking around the restaurant keeping busy. This was a family outing for dinner (party of 4) we did have to wait an hour to be seated but they let us know that up front. We were texted when ready and were able to see our status on the wait list through Yelp. This was a cool feature as it gave a little while to look around in the mall. We were promptly seated by the staff and our great waiter Marco got our drink order and appetizer request. There was a small wait as it looked like they were under staffed but our waiter was awesome. He checked on us often and was very friendly and polite. It has been a long time since we had great service and with a smile. Our food came and it was delicious as usual. It's exactly what you think a Chili's would be. We started off with the triple dipper, sw egg rolls Chipotle crispers and they were delicious. From there I had the BBQ burger and it was good. The waitress was not talkative and I rather enjoyed it because it gave me and my girlfri3nd more time together. For both of us with appetizer we spent about 35 to 40 with tip. read more

After finally getting seated the waitress took forever to see us she got our drink orders and appetizer order waited over 40 minutes to receive them another 30-40 minutes later we received our food. We never got any refills, no napkins, no high chairs that we asked for when she did give us the high chair the manager asked us to trade it cause it was blocking the way for the emergency exit which was not our fault our waitress gave us that one. Took us a whole 3 hours for everything way too long to get something to eat over all bad experience.
