Went to the chilis with my family tonight. It was fairly busy but we got into the bar seating pretty quickly which was nice. Our waiter was an awesome guy with a good personality - service was great. They were seating people as fast as they could. The restaurant itself is not my favorite set up, really packed, the surrounding tables might as well have been in our party, I could feel them so close. Our waiter was nice, he was doing his best for sure, probably overworked on weekends like this, but he still had a smile. He kept our drinks full and was attentive to our needs and requests. The lights are definitely for looks, as they do not provide enough light. I was trying to decipher the menu in the dark basically. Our appetizer came out pretty quickly, I wouldn't expect anything less when ordering chips and salsa lol. Good stuff, I was also pretty hangry so it made them taste even better. The actual main dish is decent for the 2 for $25 deal, I had crispy chicken, husband had a burger, we also had a margarita chicken in our party. Oh my goodness the ranch dip was super great tasting, but a tad bit runny. It was the perfect addition to the French fries and my chicken. Everyone was satisfied in the end. We went in and sat down in the bar section where we always sit because we like watching the big screen TV. Me and my friends had a great experience. We were told 20 minutes for a 4 top but only waited about 5 which was great and the hostess was super nice. Our server was Amy and i have nothing but great things to say about her. She was attentive but not annoying, sweet, funny, and had great conversations with all of us. On top of it, she caught that one of our sets of tortillas weren't gluten free and corrected it before our friend ate it. Amazing server. Definitely recommend her if you go in. I ordered the Ribs combo dinner - I do believe the Ribs must have been under a heat lamp for hours...there was very little meat on the bones and it was almost as tough as shoe leather, and the spiced sausage was a little on the cold side. I really wanted to like this place to have a place to eat while watching sports games... guess it's back to the close by competitors whose food has always been good. The 3 Spicy shrimp tacos included only 2 and the chicken salad was looked as if everything was just thrown together in a rush. Called and told them the problem. I really only like chili's for the Lava Cake & Chips/Salsa. That's probably the only reason I go these days. So my review is based solely off of those. The cake is to die for! Comes out hot with some ice cream on top, which basically doesn't have time to even melt before it is in my mouth & I am licking the plate. It is that good!! The chips are thin & crispy, and the salsa is the perfect chunky/smooth ratio. They will also refill both of those things for you. Make sure to sign up for the emails/rewards. The food is what you expect of a Chilis, which is good because that's the benefit of chains. I haven't eaten on site, but I have ordered to go at least a half dozen times, different days, lunch and dinner, and over half the time my order is wrong. Sauces are wrong, items are missing, the wrong item is swapped in for what I ordered. This location has been convenient until now, but I'm tired of not getting what I ordered. Especially when they (hilariously) manually check off each item on the order item list. This Chili's was okay. We were seated quickly and they waited as the rest of our group showed up before taking our orders. They gave us a bowl of lemons for our waters, we won't be getting scurvy anytime soon (but seriously it's nice when they're not stingy with the lemon). I got the Santa Fe Chicken Salad for about $10, I noticed that some of the lettuce leafs were brown and the sauce masked the freshness of the salad. (The salads are served on rectangle plates, it would be nice if they had the traditional round plate for a salad - next time I'll ask for it). I'm a sports fan, so it was nice to have a basketball game and tennis match (that's right, two TVs) to glance at every once in a while. They have a margarita flavor of the month that is only five dollars. For vegan choices they have chips and salsa, a side of black beans, side salad with no cheese or croutons, black bean burger, or the fajitas with black bean burger instead of meat. The black bean burger is not the greatest veggie burger but it's nice to have the option. The margaritas are very good. The black beans and chips and salsa are also yummy.
