I have never been a huge fan of chili's and their food but I have to say that I really enjoyed the experience we had at this location. Never offered to remake it. Instead brought out a condiment cup of chili and said to be grateful he wasn't charging me for it. I didn't want mustard, didn't want lettuce, and didn't want tomato or anything else. Asked him to remake the burger and he walked off. Took it home and put a fresh bun on and ate my cold burger. Haven't been to Chili's for about 3 years and after my recent experience with this place I'm sure it's my last time eating there. My first clue that this place might be needing help was when the person sitting us only gave us 1 menu to view? Ask for a 2nd menu and he said he would give us another one but he's been instructed by the Manager that only 1 menu is given to each couple? Sure glad we didn't order the dinner for 2 because we were thinking we'd most likely have to share the silverware. For our dinner we ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs which included fries and coleslaw. Received a very small portion of ribs (4 bones vs 6 bones as shown on the actual menu picture we ordered from) with fries and "corn on the cob"? What no slaw? My dining partner ordered the Caribbean salad with grilled chicken. She actually was given a basic iceberg lettuce salad without any Caribbean dressing? She commented on the salad received was being tasteless without the dressing. Our server Cameron was awesome as he was quick to get things correct. He brought coleslaw and salad dressing asap, but sadly this lack for details only showed us that nobody was working the expedite in the kitchen which would have avoided simple mistakes like this ruining our dinner experience. I personally don't see a bright future for this restaurant chain. They were once very successful with their ribs and burgers but have since succumbed to chasing the dollar of the finicky eater and have changed their menu so radically we had to look hard to even find the rib being offered? When you are good at something you stick to it because success follows greatness and Chili's you once had that greatness now you're headed to the bottom....sorry to see you go...baby back, baby back, baby back ribs!!!! poof! I have two starts because the waitress was great she was very efficient. Food came out in a timely manner however, almost everything we had was horrible. It has gone downhill so bad we got the triple dipper for appetizer, which was probably the most thing we got. Burger was extremely greasy burnt on the ends lettuce pickles. Wow! What happened to this place? I used to eat at chili's all the time and it was always pretty good. We went tonight and it was TERRIBLE. The chili cheese fries were a joke. The serving was so tiny. I had "spicy" shrimp tacos that tasted basically like cocktail shrimp on tortillas. The tortillas weren't even warmed. They were just like out of the package store bought tortillas. I couldn't bring myself to even finish them. My husband said his burger was okay. They didn't offer to refill our drinks or anything the whole time we were there so we both had empty drinks for half of our meal. On top of all that, it was in the pricey side. Super gross. The food was good, but good lord the wait, and the waitress were horrible. When we finally started complaining, is when we finally were taken care of, or really actually just noticed. I noticed the waitress was very friendly to the table behind us, and giving exceptional customer service. So I had high hopes, and expectations for our dinner. Turns out she knew everyone at the table, and was making an exception for them. She started out with bringing everyone drinks, but no straws. We eventually had to ask what seemed like 10 mins later for straws from another waitress. Everything was slow until that table of friends left. The hostess excuse was she was having a bad day. I work in retail, and no matter what kind of day I have I always have to put my "work" face on. She eventually warmed up with her "work" smile, annoyed, which truly I don't care just take my order be polite, and call it a day, and like 2 hours later we got our food. I love chili's but dang this chili's needs to get it together. I noticed other people were waiting for long periods of times as well. Also being annoyed at the wait, and the atmosphere. Personally, I've had better experiences at other chili's but I will say chili's has really stepped up there menu, and there burgers are actually really good. Decent food as long as you dine in. Take out messed up our order so bad, I didn't have it in me to call and complain. I know I should give them a chance, but it wasn't like I was going to drive back up and get the difference in size of soup, and onion rings they left out. The grilled chicken was actually quite good. The mac and cheese, after picking it up a few minutes late, was surprisingly runny. My mom loves the potato soup, but was disappointed when she got a cup instead of the bowl she ordered and paid for. The condiments that go with the soup were pretty scrawny. Barely a tsp each of cut up green onion, bacon and cheese (which was a few slivers of cheese melted on the side the little cup.) I give it two stars because the food is okay. But it's not enough for me to go back and chance paying for an order and only getting part of what I pay for. read more

I've been here at this location before for take out, but the dining experience here today was...OK. It really wasn't that busy in here, yet our waiter took forever coming over to take our order. Then we had napkins that needed to be replaced from a spill, and he never acknowledged that let alone remove the excess trash. Our water never was replenished either. We got as far as ordering the guacamole which was bland and waaaayy too much lime. It was disgusting. I have never had a bad experience at the Tomball Chilli's. Ive had great service, and the food is consistent to the Chili's brand, which has had an increasing variety as of late. Great place for a week day lunch on a workday in Tomball. The Lowes parking lot behind the location is also a good place to park with any large vehicle or RV, and is well lit. read more

Chili's has been one of my favorite (affordable) restaurants for years. Unfortunately, I think Chili's is going the way of Outback Steakhouse...downhill. I haven't been to a Chili's in a while... probably a year or two... Before it was always just general types of food, but they had good enough burgers or the chicken crispers were my usual choice. After dining here now I remember why I never go... The whole menu has been revamped and now they appear to have all their old stuff, but added on a ton of tex-mex type things, and a few random stuff. Categorization is poor and things just don't make sense why they are grouped where they are. There is also some sort of gizmo on all the tables now, so you just pay there, and can order drinks and play games and I don't know what else. I don't like them, it's more of a distraction and takes up a fair amount of the table space too. Why do they have to be different than every other restaurant there? Sure if it was fast-food I can understand the speed for payment and whatnot, but it's a sit-down restaurant... *sigh* With so many things to choose from, I played it safe and just ordered a burger, I figured they couldn't mess that up. It was their usual quality, nothing special, just a burger & fries... My friend got one of their new Top Shelf Beef Short Rib Enchiladas, which he said were fatty and gross, I saw the meat and I have to agree. His wife got the chicken crispers, which were also the same as they have always been. The waitress was polite, but it just seems like the whole atmosphere has changed. Chili's has lost their identity and seems to just try to be everything at once instead of specializing / focusing on a few core dishes. My family and I catered Fajitas for 30 people for my sister's memorial service at The Tomball VFW. When I arrived to pick-up the order at Tomball, the staff was amazing. I actually left the store without 1/2 my order. While driving to the memorial, I received a phone call from management informing me of my mistake. They offered to personally deliver the order to The VFW in Tomball. This went far above normal customer service, and shows a motivation to help that is unheard of in most chain restaurants. The food was amazing, fresh and the meat was very tinder. The staffs caring attitude, professionalism and exceptional customer service is a credit to Chili's around the world. This chilis in tomball is by far the best one in and around Houston. Drinks are very strong and have good happy hour. Presidente margarita is really good. Staff is always friendly and are attentive as well. Burgers are good. Southwest egg rolls are good too! Overall you can't go wrong with a quick and affordable place to eat. read more

I'm going to write a review on Chili's...crazy I know, but they literally rocked it tonight for me. A ToGo steak in general is rarely cooked correctly, and mine was spot on. Pasta cream sauce could use some tweaking, but it's a please everyone restaurant so I understand. Cajun chicken was still moist when I got home...go try the plastic chicken at Applebee's. Pretty brutal. Vegetables steamed correctly, and of course the Loaded Mash was a success. Beer was Cold. Haven't eaten at Chili's in years, and I may be a believer again. Keep up the good work! Walked in. Girl up front had attitude and didn't acknowledge that myself or any of the other 3 parties of people were there while she walked by not even looking up at us. Finally we were sat down and then had to wait for a waiter. After 8 minutes we were finally greeted by a waiter. After waiting the people that came in and sat down 10 minutes after us received their food. While we were still waiting with empty drinks and hungry kids. Yesterday 3/3 we visited chili's in Tomball about 12:30 for lunch. I took my step son and as I order the "old timer" he joked and said the old timer for the old timer which was funny to our table. Our waitress was a short heavy set blond girl probably early 20's who asked my step son how old he was, he answered and she decided to tell him he should act his age, the table laughed but my step son was not amused. Then she decided to talk to her fellow coworkers about it and they all seemed to have a good laugh about it. As a fellow customer service representative I believe that was the wrong thing to say to my teenage step son and she over stepped a boundary that was completely unacceptable and she should really watch what she says to someone else's child. She even proceeded to say that her brother wouldn't act like that and made the comment that he went to a different school and they don't act that way. Offended doesn't begin to describe the feeling I have and she should definitely try a different profession because customer service is not it. I do believe she realized that she shouldn't have said that and we got good service because of it. She did her job but she is very lucky because that situation could have gone very badly. My office ordered take out for our entire department, and I have to say that it is the first time I have ever had to try to have a good a fajita taco with no flour tortillas. I guess you could say my lunch was meat strips to dip in sour cream or take a bite of with a pinch of cheese. Several of us ordered fajitas and none of us had any tortillas sent with our meal. I had almost rathered to have the fajitas forgotten, because at least I could have put the toppings in the tortillas. read more

When I called back, the staff and manager were more than helpful. I returned within the hour and was able to retrieve my wallet.
