They were served at a perfect crisp. My son had the burrito. The churros were disappointing. I felt like Jack in the Box could've done better. Our server was a little flat. She could've had an off day so would not let that hender my review. Overall the food was prompt and the restaurant was clean. My friend was celebrating her birthday. We were around eight folks. The waitress Cookie was excellent. She was patient and gave us separate checks. While the menu doesn't have spinach enchiladas, they accommodated me. I had enchiladas with no cheese and just tomatillo sauce. They were delicious. The vegetarian beans and rice were quite good too. The chips were not greasy at all. They come with red and green salsas. Cookie brought plates and forks for the cake my friend brought. Chuys' decoration is all over the place. Above us were lots of hubcaps hanging from the ceiling. They have fun T-shirts for sale too and plenty of free parking. Cookie gave us a rewards card to use each time we dine at Chuy's. read more

Short wait when we arrived... not a big deal. We were seated and the waiter took a while to greet us. He had at least 3 other tables, maybe he was given too many tables in his section but he never came back. We waited... table next to us got their food, refills, and started eating. A man not in uniform (maybe a manager, he didn't introduce himself) asked if we were ready to order after seeing us look around. We ordered. The food took a very long time!! The waiter continued serving his other tables and stopped once to check on us. The table across finished eating, he was seated another table... they were greeted and orders were taken right away. When our food finally arrived only half the food made it out. The food was mediocre. I've heard good things about Chuy's and this was my second time giving it a chance. Not going back. I stopped going to Chuy's a few years ago. I stopped going because right after COVID they had removed my favorite dish (chili rellenos) off the menu, and it was really the only reason why I'd go. So I thought, why bother? One day we were driving past Cheys on I-10 near Memorial City Mall and I told my husband, we should go there because you have to admit, that jalapeño ranch dip is the B O M B! So, we stopped in. They had added back my fav, and they also had a combo with the chili relleno and green Chile enchiladas. I'd never tried the green Chile enchiladas, so... it was the perfect time to try them. We also ordered guacamole and queso for appetizers. The jalapeño ranch was outstanding! I mean, its so good I could drink it. The salsa was also very good. If they don't make it fresh, they have me fooled. It tastes very fresh and homemade. Its great. The only problem with it is, you never know what spice level you're going to get, but no matter what, its always tasty. The guacamole, waa very good. It also tastes very fresh and perfecty spiced. I order it every time I go. The queso isn't bad, its a decent queso. But don't take my word on queso because I'm probably not the best judge. As far as the relleno, it was good, just not as good as I remembered it. I mean, I liked it, but it didn't bring back the memories that I'd hoped for. BUT as soon as I took a taste of those green Chile enchiladas, my life changed. When I go out to eat TexMex I never order chicken enchiladas. I tried them once some place else and didn't like them, so I just thought that I wouldn't like them anywhere else either. Boy was I wrong! These enchiladas were fantastic! I 100% recommend. So now we go back a couple times a month. I don't even bother ordering the relleno anymore... I just order the green Chile chicken enchilada plate. It's THAT good. So, if you're on the fence about chicken enchiladas, I think its worth giving Chey's a try. It just might change your life! read more

The staff there is very nice and talkative, but a couple of times now the service at bar was not so good. We have had to wait to ask to order and items missing like drinks , etc. The young lady behind the bar forgot my water and tea, but brought my husband's water and never brought my double order of guacamole. We ordered delivery from Chuy's -Vintage tonight and were disappointed that they forgot the queso. I called and spoke to the manager Ashley and let her know what happened. she was very sympathetic and apologized for the mistake. She asked if it was too late for her to bring us the missing queso. I explained that we were at least 20 minutes but she insisted that she make things right. 20 minutes later she rang our door bell with a large queso and fresh chips. This is the first time I have ever had a manager go over and beyond to make things right. Thank you Ashley for taking care of us. I wish more managers were like Ashley! read more

Great atmosphere, great customer service, delicious Tex Mex comfort food, fast, and friendly service! An ex co-worker who is now a retired teacher, hosted a White Elephant Party at this location! It was an afternoon of laughter, conversation, and an all around joyous occasion as educators gathered together to relax, unwind, kick back, and let down our hair! Chuy's was able to cater to us by providing their spacious patio area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as they quickly gathered chairs and tables to accommodate our large crew. The weather was nice and breezy which was a plus! I forget the name of the hostess! She was an absolute sweetheart! Our server Cassie was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive! She was bartending and serving us at the same time and she did an awesome job multitasking serving our drinks and food in a timely manner. Yay Cassie! I recommend this establishment for large gatherings of friends or families where you can hangout, talk as loud as you want to, & laugh as loud as you want to! The atmosphere is fun and vibrant! The margaritas are not that strong at all but the food is good enough! I had to purchase an extra shot on the side for my Margarita. It was extremely sweet if you like it extra sweet. She appears to be passed out - at one of the tables outside. (Vape pen and all). Woman from inside just came out and roused her. Apparently she was just causally napping on break. ??? Yesterday we ordered curb service from the Vintage Park location to be ready at 4:30. I received a text at 4:00 saying the order was ready for pickup. I wasn't able to get there until my requested time of 4:30. I waited about 5 minutes after arriving and returned home about 5:00. After getting our drinks we sat down to eat, but the hot food was now cold. The fajita chicken wasn't fresh; it was cold and dry as were the enchiladas. For this we paid $52 counting food, tax and tip. After this experience I will not be back. My daughter goes to the Hwy 290/Hwy 6 location so I will try it if I ever order from Chuy's again. read more

Once a manager came by and listened to our problem, he immediately showed empathy and comped our meal before we had even ordered, saying "this is not our standard and we would like to make it up to you". Went there after work with a friend for margaritas and queso. We sat on the patio and gave the waitress our order. She came quick with the queso chips and salsa. After almost 15 minutes the margaritas still hadn't come so i got up went into the bar and they were sitting there by the wait station. i told the bartender we hadn't got our drinks after 15 minutes so she got another waiter to bring them to us. Great atmosphere with interesting decor. Has a bit of a colorful 80s theme going on and great music. The chips and salsa were very tasty. Our server was super attentive even when the restaurant got very busy and she was super sweet. I would've given 5 stars, but my enchiladas were a bit lacking in flavor when it came to the chicken. I called the manager to place my order with home to express the need for fresh chicken fajitas only to get the famous lie "We Cook Everything Fresh"" response . I hate to call people lies but the meat didn't even melt the cheese in my taco due to it being warm. I advised him that if he wanted to see pictures of the food or comment to look at the review, he replied " I don't have time to check social media, I'll transfer you to a server to place your order." Back to the order, yes they took that same chicken breast from the pan that held the precooked meat, reheated it on the flat grill or however they cook fajitas and heat the meat up or overcooked it. Sooo disappointed. I'd heard some pretty decent thoughts on the establishment, so thought we'd give it a try, considering it was a different take on our usual food fare. I really wanted to like it, but sadly it's a no-go for me. The 1 star is for good measure and the manager on duty. My family visited this location recently for a late meal and left literally nauseous. The food was poorly cooked - one of my kids ordered a cheeseburger and it literally came out RAW. What was an issue for me was the fact that the patty was paper thin and it was still not done. How do you mess that up??? Add to that, my food was ice cold - tacos soggy, the kids' fries were refrigerator cold - as if they'd been sitting for a while - and the food overall was just "bleh." Our waiter seemed irritated and disinterested, even though I believe we were one of only 3 families he was waiting on (the restaurant wasn't full at all), he took forever to come to us. We never got refills, he wasn't personable, and literally looked away whenever we tried to motion him over for assistance. When I finally snagged him and asked for the manager, he came across reluctant to even send him our way... The manager on duty that night - different story. He was very pleasant, apologetic, and the utmost professional - a definite breath of fresh air. Even though my son didn't need medical attention (just a bad case of throwing up and diarrhea :-(...), he was very interested in his (our) well-being. I appreciate that and his attentiveness. I am going out on a limb here, as to say it was the kitchen staff that either needed a lesson on cooking food, and/or needed new jobs... Needless to say, once the fiasco with my kids' meals transpired, we were pretty much done. We didn't finish or continue to partake in the food, nor did we choose to have it re-cooked as initially offered, so we opted to settle up and leave. While we still paid for the food - minus the RAW burger - we did end up with a heaping of Tres Leches. What a small world. For the first time I tried chuys last year in San Antonio. I know, weird right being that I live in Houston but first tired it in San Antonio. When I tried it in San Antonio I met the manager Lou was was from Houston. I'm in San Antonio quite a bit. He took good care of me and the food was amazing. Fast forward. I decided to get some chuys to go do I call the new location off 249 and guess who answers the phone? Lou who used to run the location in San Antonio but now Is back home in Houston doing an amazing job at this location! He is doing something right as there is always a 2 hour wait on Friday. People are lined up! Great job Lou and it was really nice to see you again. The food: the beef chimichanga was really good. Full of flavor. The queso is really good as well. I'm not a huge fan of rice or beans but the beans and rice here are amazing. They are really doing a great job. Great location. I suggest you give them a try. The hostess started to seat me in a booth that had food on the seats, so I asked for a different one. The next table had a ton of debris on the floor, so we went for the third booth. The service was friendly and quick. The food was not that great, the corn tortillas for the enchiladas were hard on the ends and stale. The sauce didn't taste right, we have a Chuy's back home. I hate that I'm writing this review during the COVID-19 crisis, but I can't ignore eating bad food despite the circumstances. This is also another one of my, "I keep giving ____ (restaurant name) second and third chances," and ultimately being disappointed every single time. At least they are consistent. Took this straight from their YELP page: "About the Business At Chuy's, we don't take anything seriously, except our food!" In my opinion, they don't take their food seriously either. Chuys, to me, is over priced, under-delivered tasteless Tex-Mex cuisine. I'm almost tempted to not even use the word cuisine here. I am limited to what I love at Tex-Mex restaurants, I'll give you that. I usually stick to what I know and order the same item despite which Tex-Mex restaurant I choose to dine, however, you can't neglect quality and freshness in times like this!...You have to be on top of it, on your A-game to keep your customers coming back...unfortunately, Chuy's always fails to deliver. It's a Sunday night, my fiance and I are starving and #hangry, and I don't want to order Chipotle, but still want something Tex-Mex, and I remember there was a Chuy's nearby. Soooo...I decided to cave, and order from them through DoorDash. We both order their "custom" enchiladas, which really their choice of enchilada sauces are what make them "custom." I ordered the tomatillo, and he ordered the ranchero. Let me tell ya, it wasn't "love at first bite." My chicken was flavorless, and dry. Then they skimped out on the cheese...barely sprinkling anything on top of the enchiladas and just dousing it with their tomatillo sauce. Beans are not homemade (in house), and rice was tasteless as well...so bland. It felt like we were eating cafeteria food, honestly. The ranchero sauce was too salty, and the tomatillo sauce was too sour. Oh...and what I really wanted was some queso, but I wasn't going to pay $8 for a "SMALL" order of queso...that's just ridiculous...when has queso been given an inflation??...really, c'mon guys. This is why those food trucks still stay alive. Disappointed at most, I'll probably wait another several years, or another decade before I order/dine at Chuy's. PSA: I'm not a fan of fajitas, and I know many tex-mex restaurants in the HOU area are known their "fajitas," which boosts their popularity. Chuy's is decent and I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. On the plus side, there are lots of things to look at (great for kids) and the service has always been amazing. The food is lackluster but I seem to be the odd one out. My sister is obsessed with Chuy's and doesn't have a location close by where she lives in Savannah, GA so whenever she's here she makes me go once or twice. She recommends the chicka chicka boom boom mostly because she's obsessed with the sauce. read more

I've been here twice now and had the same waitress both times (what are the odds?!) I'm sad I didn't get her name, so I could give a shoutout. The 2nd time I came was during HH (yay). They have a decent happy hour, which includes both drinks and food. The inside is colorful, funky and fun, and the drinks are pretty and good. I LOVE their green sauce - I can literally just eat that while the people with me eat real food hahah.
