My mom and I were hungry, but I wasn't feeling too well and wasn't in the mood to cook. As her and I went through the list of take out places, I knew she wanted her Southwest Chicken Salad, so I told her why not order it and go pick it up. I decided to try their Cheeseburger with fries since I was craving beef and my mom and I also split the Molten Lava Cake. You're probably asking, how on Earth are you able to order ice cream and cake to go? First, I don't live that far from this location and they keep they're ice cream almost rock hard frozen because they know by the time you get home, it will be the perfect ice cream consistency. I loved the fact that when I was putting my order in (through the Yelp app too), I was able to customize everything the way I wanted it! I wanted the veggies on the side so they didn't make my burger soggy. I was able to be putting the salad dressing on the salad along with ordering extra tortilla chips for the salad. The little things I asked for they put them together! My burger was ok, nothing wowed me, but I always like to try something new at Chilis just to see if anything else strikes my fancy. That Southwest Chicken Salad is still #1! I would recommend ordering to go on Friday or Saturday night because the parking lot was super crowded and if you're not in the mood to wait, they had the order all set to go when we got there. I work nights, and I spend most evenings sleeping. I rarely eat at dinner time, and it takes good company or great food to get me out during those hours. I came to Chili's with a group of friends, and the server was quite frazzled that day. He broke a few glasses, then knocked the condiment holder off our table. Not docking stars for his performance, although my order did get sent to the wrong table. I waited without food for an hour while my party ate; my server finally offered me soup. I was so hangry- I got my food to-go because I just wanted to leave. I should have just canceled my order. They serve a margarita of some sort in converted Patron bottles: beware, they leak when you pour. A lot. My friends discovered that you can open the bottles by taking off the whole metal section of the top. My fajitas were waaaay too salty and overpriced for what I got. A few pieces of shrimp, beef and a ton of onions. I was not pleased. Honestly, if the food was plentiful and not so salty, I could have overlooked everything that went poorly that evening. Then they'd get 3 stars. My friend was eating fries, and a long light-colored hair was attached to a fry. We all have dark hair. That was gross. They did comp his meal, which was a nice gesture. I think the 2-for-20 is a great deal; but I usually eat out solo. The food here isn't fantastic enough for my Fatass Status to emerge and I take a whole meal home with me (there are bbq places where I have actually done that!). You are fabulous and your energy made our Since our favorite Chili's location in Encinitas closed, we've been coming to this location. Yesterday was a breeze! We entered, were greeted warmly and were able to sit at the bar. The barstools were way over 6 feet apart, they taped off sections on the bar top to designate each eating area, the staff all wore masks and gloves. The bartender with the lavender hair was awesome! I ordered through DoorDash last night, 06/09/23 It was my first time trying Chilis. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. I ordered a medium rare 6oz sirloin steak, it was only seared from the outside. It was raw all throughout and cold in the center. The asparagus that I received with it was undercooked, fibrous and stringy. The garlic butter was sour. I don't understand why it was sour? When I called to let them know that my food was raw, all I got was a "oh I'm very sorry, you can get a refund through DoorDash" the girl who answered didn't bother to ask me if I wanted it remade. Great Experience! When you arrive it feels like a super packed sardines can due to the layout of the hostess stand and waiting area. Typical franchise set up. The new touch screens keep you entertained and basically not reliant on human service when it comes to ordering and paying for your meal. Chili's is great for an easy happy hour option. Since this location is in town it is the one I frequent the most. It's usually somewhere in between. For happy hour they have $5 classic margaritas, $3 domestic drafts and well drinks, and $6 presidente margaritas and a few more. Their happy hour runs from 3 to 6 and all day on Sundays. They do have a few food options on special too. Service has always been great for me, never too slow. I typically don't visit restaurants during busy hours like lunch or dinner time. REALLY bummed out!!!! WTH were you thinking to change your awesome burgers????$#$#. They have not only changed what comes on the burgers but, the quality!!! I've always enjoyed a great Chili's burger.... I don't think I'll ever crave one again... I got the burger that has guacamole on top and green/red pepper on the bottom. I was thinking they would be grilled they were sauteed which made the bottom of the bun soggy. The MEAT HAD absolutely NO taste or flavor... Not seasoned AT ALL. I was just eating the top bun and the rest and it was so bland. Definitely NOT work 9.49. The French fries had more seasoning and flavor. Honestly they were a bit too salty. I enjoyed the new pickles they served in a ramekin... I ate all 3. It's sad when pickles and fires are better than the burger! My friend had the new smokey burger and he said the SAME thing... Nope. I don't know what it is about the food here I have tried it a couple of times. I just can't. My last visit was the final try, went during a time that it wasn't busy but the hostess was acting as if they had loads of people around. In fact, the area we were seated at had 4 empty tables all together. She told us we would be seated as soon as our table was cleaned. Well, we waited for about 10 minutes before our table was ready. As we sat, I looked around and saw the remaining 3 tables sitting dirty, the floor had trash all around and while we were there not one single person came to clean up the tables nor floor. Had my kids not been so excited about going (they just love restaurants) I would've grabbed our stuff and left. It wasn't until the next family came to sit down that someone came and cleaned one of the tables by us. How is this even ok? On to he food... so I tried their steak with mash potatoes and broccoli. The only thing decent was the broccoli. The steak was dry with some over sized amount of butter and pepper over it. The mash potatoes were indescribable, just kind of rubbery? Tough? I don't know. I love Chili's! However, sometimes the employees are a bit slow and that seems to be for the one in Carlsbad/Oceanside and Vista. The Chili's in Escondido is great and I rarely have issues there. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The service was awful. Cups were dirty, and for a semi-busy evening, our table was visited maybe 4 times in total. We constantly had to ask other servers for things while we watched our server interact with the table behind us (who looked to be people she knew.) Quality of the food was AWFUL. Nothing tasted good, the meat for the fajitas was chewy and gross! My 3-year-old son had a grilled cheese with fruit, and the fruit tasted like onions! And then when we got home, he threw up his entire meal! My boyfriend and I felt sick as well. The young man very tall that was the host had a very negative demeanor. The host shouldn't have to bus tables and try to set customers. He wasn't paying attention to the stream of customers who came in so he was sitting people that had just come in (not on wait list) and then asked who was next. I took my daughter on Christmas Eve to her favorite restaurant, Chili's. She was visiting from Spokane, WA and loves the Chili's there. But the one in Vista was horrible that night! I had the $15.99 sirloin. It came with the smallest salad I have ever seen, maybe 1/2 a cup of wilted lettuce. The sirloin was the size of 1/2 a hand palm, the broccoli and the mashed potatoes were cold! The server should not have served the salad and the steak! I will not be going back to Chili's in Vista, CA ever again, that should be ashamed of themselves! read more

I went to Chili's with my girlfriend and the customer service was great! We had the 2 for $25 deal and were happy with our service and entree's except for the fried pickles, which were soggy and oily. However, they were kind enough to replace our appetizer with a nicely made salad. Also, the chips & guac and presidente margaritas were great! As for the entree's, I had the bacon ranch chicken quesadilla that tasted outstanding and my girlfriend had the margarita chicken entree, which she enjoyed with my lettuce. I am surprised at the negative reviews. We went today about noon, and there was no problem. The place was very clean. We were welcomed immediately by the bar tender. Seated immediately by the greeter and welcomed by our waiter. He brought our drinks promptly and came back for our order quickly. My wife ordered one of the lunch special. A half chicken sandwich, a side salad and fries. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich which came with fries. My wife was very pleased with her food. She did not expect getting fries with her meal, a generous portion. I was extremely happy with my sandwich and fries. This was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. Probably tied for the best. The chicken was covered in a good batter, not over fried. The chicken was large and generous, tender and moist. The buffalo sauce was perfect as were the condiments. After discovering their lunch deals, Chili's has become one of my favorite lunch spots! They offer lunch combos Monday though Friday from 11am-4pm. Prices are $8 or less (not including tax/tip)! It includes an appetizer, being their options of salad or soup. My favorite is the *Southwestern Chicken Soup. It's like tortilla soup but 100% better with "oven-roasted chicken, hominy & tomato in an ancho-chile chicken broth, topped with tortilla strips & cilantro." It has a spicy kick to it and is my favorite part of the meal! What I normally get for my dish is the *Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl. It just has loads of things in it: citrus rice, corn & black beans, avocado, tortilla strips, cilantro, chicken, greens, cheese, a chipotle pesto, and a cumin-lime sour cream (I normally ask for sauce on the side). It's sour, savory, and creamy all together. It's the best and in total $7! I recommend this combo if you're at Chili's for lunch. But if that doesn't interest you, they offer a variety of dishes on the lunch menu for you to try, like hamburgers, fajitas, flatbread, etc. I've only been to THIS location for lunch and have always had good experiences, with polite and attentive servers and delicious food. read more

What horrible service at the bar. Sat down solo, it took a few minutes, but to be expected on a busy Friday night. Did place my order for dinner and an ice tea. I was informed the kitchen is backed up. All good so far. She busily tends to every one. A few minutes later, spot across the bar opens, she wipes down the table for a guy, he orders a shot and a beer, she gets his drinks immediately, then proceeds to begin washing dishes. Glass, ice, fill with tea. Beyond my patience watching her avoid me. Also should have known. The guy to the right of me wished me luck getting a drink when I sat down.
