Great Mexican food! free chips and salsa with a salsa bar! in a spacious and clean environment! FOOD: everything I've had has been pretty good so far. The BURRITOS are huge, and you have to get it "wet" ...I prefer the green sauce for $1.00 more! The tortilla is thin which I love, and it's packed with meat, guac, sour cream, Spanish rice, beans, etc. depending on which burrito you order. I usually get the Rosario. The pico de Gallo at the salsa bar is bomb, watch out for the roasted one though...spiiiiiiicy!!! I was referred to them to cater the food for my wedding, so we just popped in one day and asked for the owner, he said Hi I'm Juan he was very nice, I told him we were here to taste food for our wedding and he said have a seat and we'll make whatever you want, he brought out 5 different things and it was Awesome!!! I've had this place bookmarked for awhile for their tacos. I finally came last Tuesday for their $1 tacos. The interior was clean and dated, but invitingly nonetheless. The cashier was super friendly. I ordered 1 chicken and 2 carne asada tacos. There were 4 types of salsas at their salsa bar. They were generous in piling on the meat on the tacos which is always a plus. Unfortunately, both the chicken and carne asada were on the dry side. The medium and hot salsa were both excellent and helped the texture of the meat. Really it's still a great deal for $1 per taco. Later, I realized they also had Chorizo tacos. That's next on my eat list when I come here. They have $1 tacos every Monday through Wednesday 2-9pm. read more

First of all, the food here is great and review is long overdue. Quality meat. The customer service experience tonight was great as well. I Ordered through the phone and found out I left my wallet at work. When I Called back, the girl who answered the phone was very nice about the situation after explaining I might be cancelling after the food was already made. This place is Mexican fast food; it is not a "restaurant restaurant". Therefore, for what it is, I think it's great and much better (cleaner, fresher, etc...) than Alberto's or Miguel Jr's. We found this little gem completely by accident and I'm so glad we did. To echo the other reviews, the service is always great. The people who work here are kind and seem to be genuinely smiling. Every item I have eaten on the menu has been very flavorful. I'm shocked at the reviews that say the items are bland. My go to right now is the potato tacos plate. I think they must sprinkle crack in them because I can't stop eating them. I'm also 7 months pregnant, so that might have something to do with it. But I will say that in my last pregnancy, I literally dreamed about Simple Simon's Christmas Cookie. This time, it's the potato tacos. I also love the carne asada torta. Very yummy. read more

A family owned business with amazing people, staff and food! The best Mexican food in Riverside. Their green sauce is out of this world. To give a clue on that, my husband does not like anything green, especially sauces aand after a year or more, I finally talked him into just one bite and now it is the only thing he will have, a chicken burrito covered in green with extra green on the side. This is one of those times where I would give 3.5 stars, but I can't so I'll round up since it's a pleasant family owned place. It's definitely not an "OMG 5-STARS" kind of place. Those reviewers have apparently never eaten good Mexican food before and need to calm down. Miguel's Jr is way better and only 2 exits away. It happens to be right next to an Alberto's, and it's certainly better than that. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, pricing is reasonable, the food is good, and the portions are good. I found it really strange that they had 6 types of salsa and I didn't care for a single one. They all had a very strange bitter flavor that I couldn't identify, and I hope they weren't just expired. Other people seem to like it, so there's no accounting for taste. I still thought it was strange. If you want great salsa, try Cuca's in Redlands. I had a carnitas taco and a shredded beef taco. Both were good, but not great. As other reviewers have noted, the meat itself was fairly bland and dry. They don't season it much, but they do normally put onions, tomatoes, cheese, and cilantro in the tacos. Lucky for them I don't mind dry meat, and I actually really appreciated how lean the carnitas were. No fat anywhere to be found, unlike the beef. I will definitely come back for more carnitas tacos. If you don't like the meat here, you might want to try the other new Mexican place on the corner of Collette and Riverwalk. I think it's Armandos or something. Their carnitas had more flavor, but I didn't like how fatty they were. Bottom line, it's not the best Mexican food in the area but it's certainly above average and worth a visit. read more
