I dropped by during Black Friday shopping in Woodfield Mall. I felt sorry for the two ladies working as they looked very tired. I can only imagine how many orders they had to make that early morning. They managed to remain friendly and smile which is admirable. I tried two different flavors.The Avocado Bubble Tea was beyond bland. I would not suggest ordering that flavor because it tastes like an Avocado who was disowned by its family. The Mango Bubble Tea on the other hand was very decent. It wasn't the freshest, but it passed the taste test for me. Their normal Tapioca is rather lackluster despite all the hype they have posted in their decorations about the Tapioca. Too Chewy and colder than the actual drink itself. I would recommend paying the extra for the special toppings. The Mango Tapioca and Pomegranate Bubbles are of superior quality. The pricey Bubble Tea hit the spot for me. I am sure they have their good flavors, but I unfortunately didn't find it this time around. I was so upset by this place. It is not at all what I expected. I asked for a green milk tea and the girl looked at me like I was speaking a different language. She did not understand what a green milk tea was. I tried to explain that it is just milk tea but with green tea. She then said, "I can mix the milk tea and green tea flavors if you want." They don't even brew the tea!! All of the flavors are just powders that they mix and match to make "milk tea." I was so disappointed. Even so, I went ahead and bought the green/milk tea concoction and an orange cream smoothie, both with boba. I spent $8 on powdered drinks. Way too pricey for a drink that isn't even made properly. The way they prepared it was wrong, as they put the tapioca/boba on top of the ice. My green/milk tea was almost brown in color, too sweet, and thick like a smoothie. I was not happy at all. I threw it out after about 3 sips. The orange cream smoothie tasted just as bad in its own way. This place needs to learn how to make bubble tea. For being a bubble tea shop general manager, it takes a lot for me to like other bubble tea places.. and Chill caught my attention. My girlfriend and I were visiting Chicago from Buffalo and we were told to try this spot. We always try to order a Classic Milk Tea with Tapioca since that is pretty standard everywhere, and then we went novelty by ordering a Blue Raspberry Kiwi Smoothie with Pomegranate and Pineapple Bursting Boba (thats what we call it but they just called it Flavored Tapioca). Milk Tea - Flavor, Drink texture, tapioca texture, and ice to drink ratio on point, but the sweetness was a bit much for a Milk Tea Bubble Tea. I usually associate Milk Tea flavor as a subtle quiet drink, yet this screamed out "SUGAR" Blue Raspberry Kiwi - Flavorful, and innovative because you normally think Strawberry Kiwi, yet they paired blue raspberry instead. The smoothie wasn't too icy, yet not too watery.. it was smooth (pun intended). At our shop we have different Bursting Bobas so we wanted to try Pomegranate and Pineapple. They added the expected new dimension of flavoring and texture to the already decent drink. But then the sweetness level kicked our appetites again. We know that Bubble Tea is supposed to be a dessert drink, and even at my shop we offer sweetness level preferences which I'm sure they do the same at Chill, but for us, we both ordered small sizes and we could not eat dinner for the rest of the night. Lastly, the guy making our drinks was friendly, offered help, answered any questions, and made our drinks mindlessly with ease and precision. -1 for sweetness level, 4 for all the awesome you've packed into a 10x10 square foot stand. read more

I mean I'm paying $5 something for it already and the avocados are $.99 cent each right now. I'm typing this as I am eating an avocado right now! How cheap are you waiting for it to get? I come here every week. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is the ridiculous service that's offered here. The coconut, vanilla, and mango pineapple teas with tapioca are delicious even though, i agree with others, sometimes the tapioca is a bit frozen. As far as the service, there's always just one person during weekdays, usually young with no people skills. One in particular is a young girl covered in hickeys who gives me my total before finishing my order. If they hired some friendly workers who are dedicated to giving good and fast service, they'd be getting five stars. I've only had one person give me great service, and he's about 20 and very well mannered and quick to do things. Hopefully, the managers consider finding some more appropriate workers. read more

This location is either a hit or miss. Sometimes you have a good experience and other times not so much. The bubble tea is fairly good and they have a good selection of flavors to choose from. I was running errands at Woodfield last night and saw Chill when I first arrived and I was so excited having just recently found bubble tea. After my errands, I stopped there and ordered a mango tea with extra tapioca pearls. I was pretty grossed out by the consistency of the pearls at first-they were really mushy. I had to spit them out in the parking lot because it was so nasty. After a while, the coldness of the tea hardened them a little and they were decent then, I guess this is what I get for getting bubble tea from the mall. As far as Bubble Tea goes, this place is pretty average. They do use fresh fruit so that's always a bonus. None of that powder junk here. It's not nearly as good as you'd get at Joy Yee's as the options at Chill are pretty basic. If you're at the mall and you need a fix this will do the trick. read more

Never have tried their tea, i only get tapioca, but while i stood in line this evening, i saw some of the workers preparing drinks without gloves. Was visiting Woodfield Mall and stumbled across this place as I was browing through stores. I'm originally from Southern california so I'm used to Boba places but since my move to Louisville 5 years ago- I've been sad- we don't have any of these places in Louisville. The price difference between a small and Large is only like 20 cents so get a Large! Noticed that the place uses real fruit and you can tell the difference. Really good and fresh. A few Tapioca bubbles were frozen still but I kinda actually liked it. All the other ones were soft and yummy. Whenever I'm in town again- I'll have to stop by and get some more Boba- or I guess it's called Bubble Tea around these parts! :) The cashier girl was also really nice by the way and I got a Yelp Discount! :) read more

I actually went to another Chill Bubble Tea before on dempster (unwillingly).....and somehow i also showed up at the one in woodfield (also unwillingly).......however, i was surprised. Very tasty, but pricey for what you're getting. I got the small size coconut bubble tea with tapioca. They have 2 sizes to choose from. Small ($3.50 for any traditional flavors; $3.95 for same size in any fresh fruit or personalized flavors) Mine was $3.50 before tax. You can see them make it right in front of you basically. The girl filled half the glass with tapioca, then the blender was mostly ice with a little coconut milk and I think frozen coconut meat, then blended like a delicious smoothie. The drink was fantastic! However, there was more tapioca than I would've wanted and every sip involved 5 or more giant balls of tapioca to chew on. The small size is plenty, but I could probably make this drink at home and get a lot more of it for the same price. But then again, I'm stingy with my money. read more

The actual product is fine. The produce is fresh and the drinks are decent. The prices are outrageous and they will charge you for extra tapioca and not give it to you. Once, they only gave me a few pearls because they were "running low and didn't want to run out." Their service is terrible and the young Asian man that works their has absolutely no idea what customer service is. He does not look at you and he refuses to give extra tapioca even after he charges you for them. If I could give a 0 stars I would. Below I sent to their corporate office. While visiting the Woodfield mall location of Chill Bubble Tea on Saturday at 5:30pm, me and other customers received less than favorable customer service from the employees at that location. I would like to provide you with feedback from my experience in hopes that your company can implement changes or provide training to your employees so that does not happen to other customers. Being my first time at your establishment I asked the cashier to describe the Taro flavor and she was extremely rude and told me that it was "Taro." I told her I didn't know what that was and she was not very helpful. I waited nearly 20 minutes for my order and noticed that customers who ordered after me were served before me. While waiting for my order I noticed less than hygienic practices from the three employees behind the counter. The three employees appear to often forget the orders and would smell the smoothies to try to find out the flavors, they put their noses so close to the cup almost making contact with the cup's content. In addition, one of the employees kept grabbing the cups putting her fingers inside the cup and not once she washed her hands. Finally, after waiting for nearly 20 minutes I told one of the employees that I never received my order (this employee's name was Sylvia) and she did not even remember what I had ordered. She did not apologize and just told me "it happens" and made me wait for an additional 5 minutes. I took the drink, but after watching her put her fingers inside the cup as well, I did not drink the smoothy. Sadly and due to my less than favorable experience, I doubt I will ever visiting Chill Bubble Tea ever again. read more

Another disappointing bubble tea place. Almost half of the options under fresh fruit are made with powders and mixed with syrup so their menu is misleading. So you are limited to a couple fresh fruits which taste like they're frozen. Look at their website that hypes how premium their products are yet no mention of ingredients or powders. I love bubble tea and this is one of the few that I've tried in the Chicagoland area. The milk tea with tapioca is pretty good but it's also pretty sweet. I think I got the vanilla last time too with tapioca and it was on the sweet side too. Next time I go, will probably have to ask them to chill on the chill bubble tea sugar. read more

So disappointed :-( I love tea, but I think i will pass on bubble tea. I was on my way out of the mall and noticed this cute little spot. I got so excited with all of the different varieties of tea. I was especially excited when I saw they offered Watermelon bubble tea. I must say maybe since I'm not experienced with "bubble" tea I was expecting the wrong thing. But the tea didn't have a strong watermelon taste, actually it reminded me of a vanilla milkshake with a hint of watermelon. Also, this drink wasn't cheap I know I paid almost $5.
