True Story: August 5th- My second time here at Haraz (first was on opening day with two Arab friends and we had a pretty decent if expensive Turkish coffee) and still the corner "Middle Eastern coffee lounge" looks inviting as I walk in at 8pm on a Wednesday night with a friend. Spacious and well lit and clean - but then I encounter bored untrained staff who apparently have no clue what they are offering - and worse - seem indifferent to their lack of knowledge of their menu offerings - it's not their fault they don't speak Arabic or Farsi - but the ignorance as to what is in the pastry showcase or details of their drink menu is just staggering: I ask whether any of their desserts contain nuts because my friend has a fatal allergy...answer: "not really sure but not to my knowledge" (I'm afraid that just isn't good enough for this doctor). I then ask innocently whether they have any decaffeinated tea - the chap behind the counter says with confidence "Black tea doesn't have any caffeine" I was surprised enough to question my own knowledge- and my companion, who is a medical nutritionist seemed stunned and gave up as well. She said "black tea contains about 50mg per cup - which is around half that of coffee", but he didn't take the bait and stated with that confidence that only pure ignorant bliss can impart : "No, black tea has no caffeine - it's tea...not coffee." (Suggestion to the owners here: you may want to educate your staff and quick) Then I ask patiently for the list of ingredients of the various pretty looking unlabeled and mysterious sweets selection behind the glass cabinet.... Again no understanding of what I'm asking about. "No we aren't told what's inside each and we get our pastries from small suppliers but I think there are no nuts - I don't see any nuts - and they don't tell us what's inside" ... meanwhile I see pistachios scattered all over at least two desserts in the case - and I'm only asking for a rudimentary description of ingredients- and about what's inside each item - surely not too much to ask or expect (am I being difficult here?) To the owners: this customer thought you made all your desserts in-house but your staff happily tell us customers the truth - but either way..... Surely you'd want to know what you are offering your customers ? - I mean, some of the pastries look pretty tasty, but without knowing what's inside.... I give up. Then there is the price : $16.00 for a coffee and a tea. Okay... I tell myself I am trying this place a second time and I've been told good things by friends since here last (cardamom and cinnamon spiced hot drinks! ) So when I am served my tea and coffee at the table, I ask innocently for a napkin, and the waiter (Mr "Caffeine-Free tea") nods towards the other side of the cafe and says "napkins are over there" and walks off. I guess he expects me to get up and walk over to get myself a napkin (which one would have expected he'd have brought in the first place with the drinks) - and so reluctantly I've decided this is just not the place for me to relax - And at this point I just give up ... and give in to a tasty coffee - it was pretty good - and decide sadly never to return - even if invited. read more

Very welcoming staff, with a pleasant and warm atmosphere. A wonderful assortment of cakes, pastries and sandwiches. The coffee, tea and drink options are fantastic, not too many options that could overwhelm. Not sure what to try, or what's what, ask the staff they are well diverse in the entire menu. read more

We stopped in around 10 p.m., and the place was buzzing and completely packed. The pastry case was full and beautifully displayed, making it hard to choose. This time, I tried the spinach and feta pie. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful when we asked questions about the different pastries. Since we had just visited the LaGrange location and I absolutely loved the Habibti frap, I ordered it again, along with a strawberry lemonade refresher. We decided to get everything to go, it had been a long day, and we were ready to head home. When our order was ready, the staff member asked if everything looked okay, and it did, so I thanked him and we headed to the car. Unfortunately, once I took my first sip, I was disappointed. The frap wasn't cold at all and it tasted more like warm chocolate milk and was nothing like the icy cold, refreshing drink I had the day before. The pastry was also underwhelming, instead of being nicely toasted, it was just barely warm, almost as if it had been quickly microwaved, and it was a bit soggy. I'm happy to see them so busy upon walking in, that's something every business hopes for but this visit showed that the rush definitely affected the quality. I prefer a little less speed and more consistency in the products. While I really loved the atmosphere, the overall quality will probably keep me away. read more

It was our first time here.. I wish we had better experience. The person who took care of us was rude.. She made me feel like idk what I'm talking. Get nicer staff.. The pastry we got was good but overpriced for a small shot like dessert. The drink I got was not that good. The person I was with .. her drink was not good but she thinks it's ok. It's a nice atmosphere but not friendly at all.. I think they'll only last for a year or maybe two.. Not even that busy when we went on a weekend in the afternoon. Good for one time try only. I have gotten this place almost 10 times. The first time I had their Haraz Latte it was hot and sweet. Honestly it got me to come back. Tried their flavored lattes and they were not very good at all. I do order on an app for delivery which is why they are not getting lower than 3 stars. My biggest issue is the temperature of the coffee. It's lukewarm. I'm not far from this place either. Just work from home and it's nice getting a coffee from a place every so often. I get Starbucks and their drinks are always very hot. I've written notes in my orders to make it extra hot but still nothing like the first time. I have had a few of their desserts and honestly nothing special or remember some from them. Sry but there are much better and cheaper options in this area. I'd pass on this place. read more

Very inconsistent drink making. This is my 8th time coming here because they serve coffee late. Each time my drink has tasted different than the very first which is why I had come back for seconds. For a while I kept giving it chances but yet nothing has changed my matcha is still in clumps and the pistachio flavoring is still inconsistent. The mango dragonfruit refresher is another favorite and there a very little fruit pieces. It's very sad that I have to write this review because this place is very pretty and feels very warm. This new addition to Roselle is beautiful inside. At the same time, a nondescript suburban strip mall does not exactly lure you in, but you will be pleasantly surprised by the decor. The cafe is pretty large, and there were only a few others, so it was quiet. However, I could imagine this place being loud if all the tables were full. It has a drive-through window, but that is not obvious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was full of specialty drinks, but I am a simple person when it comes to coffee. I went with a basic latte. It was good enough, but not good enough to bring me back and pay the price they charge. At nearly $8 for a latte from a chain coffee house was a bit surprising. Insider tip: Be careful not to hit the infamous landscaping boulder at the west entrance to their parking lot. read more

Delicious but expensive treats, very good coffee, friendly staff, clean, check your receipts for accurate charges. We went on their opening night (2/13/26) to support them. I was here before with my girlfriends and had a great time so I decided to bring my family. Front counter staff was a little bit unorganized that night, which was understandable because there were so many people. I am hoping the random extra charge in our receipt ($1 for creme brule) was a mistake. Fantastic Yemeni Coffee House, the variety & quality are fantastic. The staff is so friendly, I'm not used to this high level of hospitality. The pastries are excellent. The Ambiance is relaxing, not prudish or snobbish like many Botique coffee houses can be. I really enjoyed the Harazi, with a whisper of Cardamon & cream. I look forward to going back. The plastic fork & cheap plastic plate was tacky, the fork broke when I attempted to eat my $13.00 Mango pastry. Honestly I think they could have done better. I popped in on Sunday, and it was so cool to hear you'd just had your soft launch on Saturday. What an amazing find. From the moment I walked in, I was so impressed the place itself is gorgeous and sparkling clean, and your team is just wonderfully friendly and welcoming. It really creates such a lovely atmosphere. My family and I really went all out trying a bunch of your offerings, and it was quite the delicious adventure. We dove into the rose milk cake, pistachio cheesecake, chocolate cake and the biscoff cheesecake.For drinks, we tried the pistachio latte, mocha latte, mocha frappes, and of course, the adeni chai coffee. Oh, and we couldn't resist the Dubai cookie too. Let's talk about the highlights. The biscoff cheesecake was simply divine, so incredibly rich and flavorful a definite must try. The pistachio cheesecake was right up there with it, equally amazing in its creamy texture and taste. We also snagged a piece of the chocolate cake, which was absolutely delicious and hit all the right notes. As for the adeni chai, that's my personal favorite. I absolutely love its unique spiced kick, especially when it's served nice and hot truly the best way to enjoy it. The pistachio lattes were super tasty as well, though if I could offer one tiny, friendly suggestion, perhaps a little more practice on the latte art for that picture perfect foam design. The mocha latte was spot on, and the mocha frappes were a fun, sweet treat, probably perfect for a younger crowd or anyone wanting something a bit more indulgent. The Dubai cookie was good, but honestly, my heart truly belongs to your cheesecakes and cakes they're just phenomenal.The rose three milk cake was enjoyable, but I did notice a couple of slightly dry spots, almost as if it had been chilling in the fridge for a little too long, even with the lovely whip cream. Just one other tiny thought, for your complimentary water, it would be wonderful to have the option of ice, as it wasn't quite cold enough for my taste. But seriously, these are just minor details. Overall, having your shop in the neighborhood is fantastic.You've got such a great vibe, and your coffee and desserts are truly top notch. Great coffee. Long wait. The coffeehouse itself is beautifully decorated with nice tables, comfortable chairs and lots of natural light. They have a drive thru lane, which was slammed when we arrived. Ordering coffee was quick and painless. Their menu is easy to read, has many offerings and since there was no one in line ahead of us, we were able to place our to-go order quickly. However after placing our order, we waited. And waited. And waited. I finally checked the time and realized we had been sitting there for 15 min. Cars were flying through the drive thru still, so I asked the young man working, and he assured me we were next. So we waited some more. 7 additional minutes. By that point, I was annoyed because we had seen other coffee drinks still flying out the drive thru window. When my husband said something a second time, we got them almost immediately. The one had been sitting on the counter (we didn't know it was ours because nothing was said) and the other drink took maybe 30 seconds. The barista slid the coffee cup towards my husband and promptly walked off leaving us asking "what just happened?" He grabbed his drink and said "I guess this is mine", then we left. I am definitely not a coffee snob. Typically drink an organic instant coffee at home because of convenience. Tried Haraz on Friday and was back on Saturday. Really like the cardamom flavor and the quality of the beans. Come and sit inside and experience the ambiance. Pretty cool music playing at a nice sound level.
