Chill Hill was very....chill. It is kind of a hip way to taste wines. It is set downtown instead of on a vineyard. Though...they do grow their own grapes and bottle their own product. The tasting room is set in an older building which has a nice vintage feel. Everything was decorated nicely and in good shape. Just odd to see sports on TVs at a winery. The server was very nice. She had lots of knowledge to share and knew her products well. She made us feel at home. She did periodically vibe by to check on us and answer questions about the wines. Chill Hill doesn't have a large menu of wines. They serve you in small cup flights. This was a bit different from a severer pouring you a shot and then telling you about the wine. My friends and I signed up for a winery tour of the area for a bachelorette party and this was our first stop. You sit down and they give you a menu and a piece of paper to choose five different drinks. It's not just wine, they have cider slushies and cocktails too. I know NOTHING about wine so I was choosing completely at random. I guess I should say I knew nothing because I learned a lot on our trip. I tried the strawberry cider slushie, the drunken mermaid cocktail, the sweet Riesling, the sparkling peach, and the cherry wine. The parking peach was actually my favorite wine of the whole trip and we tried a lot of them. The cherry wine was my least favorite but I only tried it because it's a Hozier song. I guess he's going to have to write a song about sparkling peach. The staff were friendly when we first arrived but it got real busy real quick. Went for wine tasting but ended up drinking delicious pina cola in tiki glass. Love the history of the winery and how she established her business. My mom did the wine tasting. All the wines and ciders were incredibly flavorful. Will definitely visit again. read more

What a great find as we were out cruising around! I loved Chill Hill and it's very sweet Owner. With no plan in place we decided to explore new neighborhoods. We happened upon this wide, cool looking brick road. This store front winery had a great name to we headed in. The rooms were bright and fresh. We wandered around to check out their cute swag and met the owner. She said she will be moving soon to an area right by her vineyard. This location has a side yard with a stage. They were getting ready for a band and a grape stomping event. I wish we could have stayed to partake. We did sit down for a tasting. They offered generous pours of 5 tastes for $10 - such a great value. I really enjoyed a couple and bought a bottle of one of them to bring home. The varnished wooden bar was gorgeous. The room was so bright and airy. Our bartender was fantastic too. It was an all around fun afternoon. I highly recommend Chill Hill for a delicious tasting and enjoyable experience. read more

Nice addition to Baroda with their bright and open layout that is larger than we thought with a front and back drinking area plus merchandise area. Easy to pass by as it does not stick out. Tried the ciders and really liked the blueberry pop tart and cherry flavors. They even had a couple frozen drink machines. Been by there when they used the side parking lot for a live band, which would bring us back more often if they could do that more regularly. read more

Love this spot and it's beach vibes are you enjoy a flight of wine or cider. My absolute reason for stopping by is the chill staff that lives up to the name of the venue as well as the slushee alcohol mixes. They are always so good and served from a slush machine. The flavors are varied and you're never sure what you're going to get for the day. The ambience is awesome and I always look forward to going back each time I'm in the Baroda. Love this place! We go for the Cider! Amazingly both my husband and I love the Blueberry Poptart Cider followed by the Fruit Punch Sangria and then the Raspberry. Blueberry Poptart is semi-sweet with blueberry and lemon flavor. Just delicious. During this visit there were no canned to go so the bartender told us she'd can it for us. Worth the wait! I first purchased ciders from Chill Hill over the summer: cherry, black eye and blackberry. They were really good. My next time in the area I purchased some for my coworkers; the cherry was flat. I called and they replaced them and the replacements were flat. I never had a problem with the blackberry ciders, so when I was in the area today, 10/22/2022, I purchased a flat, 24 cans of the blackberry ciders. Over $50 with tax. I just opened one and it is flat. My suggestion is if you are buying ciders to go, open one before you leave to make sure it's not flat. A trip to Michigan for me is 200 mil​​es round trip, so it's not like being in the next town over. The staff is friendly but the ciders to go are hit or miss. read more

This was our least favorite of the stops we made during our day of wine tasting. I liked the ice wine but not the cherry, rasberry, or sweet white. The taste was watered down to me. Tabor Hill and Round Barn have a better cherry. We were seated at a table but they clearly did not have enough staff to do tastings away from the bar area. Service was very slow. I was also shorted one of the tastings I paid for. My friends were brought theirs so not sure why that would happen when we were getting them at the same time. Chill Hill was a surprisingly great stop! We loved our server. She was knowledgeable, kind, and fast. It was a super cute place, and every wine we had was great. You have to try the ciders and the wine slushees. SO good! The Amish cheese and jerky snack was also awesome. There was also no wait when the winery/bar down the street had an hour and a half wait. A leisure Sunday afternoon we drove down to Baroda, Michigan, which has become a mecca for wineries in Southwest Michigan. The newest winery in the area is Chill Hill Winery which had its grand opening on Saturday, June 23. The building is in downtown Baroda in an old store. It's been wonderfully restored with even a massive antique corkscrew collection. The tasting room is sizable and the long, beautiful bar is beautiful. Everything about the space stands out from other tasting rooms. It's a bright fun atmosphere inside. We tasted the 5 samples for $10. I especially liked the Pinot Gris, but all of them were very good. They even have ciders on tap and they can be canned live right before your eyes for takeout. The server was very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chill Hill Winery. read more

Was hoping for some type of food to go along with, and landed on $12 cheese board (6 bites of jerky, a few bites of 2 different cheese types, and half a dozen crackers) & $6 chips & salsa. Everyone here is so so so fun and informative about the different wines, ciders, and they even have WINE SLUSHIES! haha I never heard of that before, but EVERYONE loves them There's a huge floor plan here at the venue. The wine tasting was average priced, 5 wines for $10, but they had few dry red wines which was disappointing. Additionally, during our entire stay the bartenders never wore a mask and continually leaned over the counter to talk close to our faces, despite our obvious discomfort with the lack social distancing. There was little spacing between myself and other customers, and I watched the employees bottling hard cider (which is hand canned behind the counter) without masks talking to one another over the open cans of cider. The lack of concern for the safety of their customers was disgusting and I would not recommend going back here. read more

We had a large group of 14 that had booked a private tour through Grapes and Grains. When I inquired about a winery that would allow us to bring a picnic lunch and eat inside (it was November), they recommended Chill Hill. Our group loved it! They set us up in the back for the wine tasting, which was great. They allow you to choose your wines and even some ciders. Then we all got to enjoy lunch with tables and relaxed setting.
