This ChillN location is great! It's conveniently located, even though parking can sometimes be challenging in the small parking lot of a popular strip mall. I've been going to the location further south for years, and this one is nice too. There were lots of people there on a Thursday night, and the ambiance felt fun. I appreciated that they have seating inside and outside. I love the Nutella ice cream flavor with granola mixed in, but this was my first time trying the almond milk. We had dinner at the Cuban sandwich shop next door and Gus wanted ice cream. I saw that it was Nitrogen ice cream, so I was a bit skeptical. I'm open for trying new things, but that doesn't mean I'll like them. But Gus was buying so I couldn't say no. When we walked through the door, I was ready to turn around and leave. They apparently keep the ice cream out in the open because the entire place was like a freezer. Gus didn't mind it but he's quite a bit bigger than me and the cold can't penetrate. I thought I was going to fall over dead. They have a lot of options; you pick a size, then a base (which is a flavor of ice cream) then whatever you want to add in, like cereal or candy or old tires or something. When you have it all they put it in a mixer and add the nitrogen and make it smoke like the ice cream is on fire. It's weird. We got our ice cream and went outside to eat it, because I wasn't going to be alive long enough to eat it if we stayed in there. He had chocolate, which he said tasted good, but not entirely like chocolate. I had the peanut butter which was delicious. The consistency is very thick, but that was okay. The flavor was delicious. All-in-all it was really good, but they lose one star because I ordered the Butter Pecan and after we paid, they told me they had run out. There is no good excuse for a shop to run out of anything. That's why taking inventory is so important. Ensure that you have the necessary stock on hand so you don't have to disappoint a customer. The manager needs to do a better job. And why is it so cold in there? Put the ice cream in the freezer and stop treating your customers like popsicles. read more

I heard about the Nitrogen ice cream craze for some time and decided to pass by the South Miami location of Chill-N to join the trend. Upon entering this does not look like your typical ice cream parlor, it gave a more Science lab vibe. First off you need to choose your base whether it regular milk ice cream, almond milk ice cream or frozen yogurt, which I choose the latter. Then you will need to choose the flavor which of course I picked Nutella. The last option is where you choose your toppings or filling so in my case I choose diced almond and chocolate chips. Then main attraction is the mist from the nitrogen that converts the ingredients to a ball of ice cream, very interesting. Chill-N Nitrogen is located in a busy shopping location, but not really central to all the shops. It's behind Chuck E Cheese on Kendall drive. Upon entering, the location, it is very small offering two tables with 3-4 chairs for sitting and a bench, which are usually occupied. Sometimes you'll find a lonely table with no chairs because a family has taken all the chairs. Although I find the ice cream to be good and rated them a 5 stars, I have not returned as there is no place to sit and enjoy your ice cream. If they would move to a bigger location, this would definitely be my go to for ice cream. read more

Located inside a small mall, this place offers about 15 different flavors including Nutella, Dulce de Leche, etc. Unfortunately you can't really pick multiple flavors for a same ice cream, only one. The staff was very friendly and we got our ice cream very quickly. Everything was delicious. Our favorite topping was the Cinammon crunch, the whipped cream was really good as well. Love this place! It's my all time favorite ice cream spot. I was so happy to hear that they opened up a south miami location (so much closer to me than the pinecrest one). This place is always consistent! Ingredients are always fresh and idk how they figured out to make the most creamiest perfect ice cream. I always get the Nutella coconut milk base + mixed berries + chocolate chips. I pretty much stick to this all the time, but love that they have a gazillion options to add to your ice cream and have as a base! Parking is difficult here... the lot is narrow and since there are other eateries around, it can get packed. I came on the Saturday night after 8PM and there was NO parking at all. I would consider myself an ice cream connoisseur and Chill-N has the best ice cream consistency. It is by far the creamiest and most drool-worthy ice cream I've had. The flavors themselves aren't very "out of the box" (you've got your typical vanilla, chocolate, cake batter.....nothing crazy like maple bacon), but Chill-N makes the more traditional flavors taste soo good! Hmm I think it have something to do with the nitrogen factor...lol The liquid nitrogen freezes the ice cream from a liquid to solid within seconds which give it an ultra thick, creamy consistency. It tastes like soft serve but in a more solid form (aka heaven). Essentially, you choose your flavor and then choose your mix ins. They've got a wide variety of them....kind of like how many a fro-yo place has. My ABSOLUTE favorite go to order is peanut butter ice cream with a Krispy Kreme donut mixed in. I'm telling you it's addictive and to die for!! The store is always super clean (and kind of chilly!) which I really appreciate. I'm only giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 because of the price. This stuff is pricey people! You have the option to choose between a small, medium, large, or pint sized ice cream cup....and mix ins run at $0.60 each. So for my SMALL peanut butter ice cream with HALF of a Krispy Kreme donut that I was talking about above, I end up paying $5.50 for it! #worthit I wish it was a little cheaper, especially for how much you get. But the stuff tastes so dang good that I can't resist! A small biscotti frozen yogurt with oreos for me, and a small vanilla frozen yogurt with strawberries for my husband. Horrible service. First off the girl placing the order was fully on her phone when I was ordering my ice cream. We ordered two ice creams and they messed them up, once we complained the tried to say that we were confusing when we ordered and it was all our fault. Instead of apologizing the staff laughed in our face. I am very allergic to coconut and they put coconut in my ice cream. I didn't know about this hidden gem in the heart of South Miami! Walked in, and loved the atmosphere. The place was clean and there were tables available to sit and hang out. We got lucky go come in when there was no line, but I had no idea what I wanted! SOOO many options! I opted to get a shake, and it was huge! I was able to add toppings of my choosing, but i kept doubting myself if it would match. Very happy I went with vanilla, cookie dough, chocolate chips and chocolate drizzle. The texture of the shake was smooth, and didn't taste icy or weird because of the nitrogen (like some other places i've tried). The staff was friendly, and I of course enjoyed seeing the smoke from the nitrogen freezing the ice cream. The shake was a good size (I couldn't finish it). I can tell you, I wasn't a fan of the large hole straw, but it did help to be able to get to the delicious toppings I chose.
