My husband and I have been repeat customers here. It's always a nice way to end our day. Parking behind is free for the first hour, just scan the QR code on the door before entering. Also, cash only! :) The workers are so friendly and nice. There's only one person who makes the ice part, but it's sooo worth the wait! The shaved ice is just so pillowy soft. I also like that inside is a nice temperature so while you're eating you're not freezing. The menu of flavors is amazing! They have your OG favorites if you're not feeling too adventurous. I don't usually love shaved ice, but the shaved ice here was amazing! The portion is pretty big, so I would definitely say share unless you're parched! The icecream is only $1 extra and it is a GOOD vanilla icecream. The store is cash only though! Seating is limited but the people are really nice! There is also parking in the back. Visited their new location in Kaimuki, a cute shop with bar seating at the front window and a couple of tables. Greeted warmly as soon as we walked in and even inquired if we had any questions. Their no fuss menu is simple but with many flavor options, I asked what their most popular flavor was. Strawberry Milk. Went with that and ice cream and complimentary snow cap! Refreshing, not overly sweet, and generous portions, it hit the spot. For $8 with a bowl stacked high as big as my head, I'm going back! I even was able to chat with the owner a bit before leaving. Chillest is my FAVORITE shave ice place on the island, literally THE BEST, THE GOAT. They are owned by a local couple that are really the sweetest people you will ever meet. I just wish they were open more than two days a week. They currently pop-up at fishcake on Saturdays from 1030AM to 4PM and at island boy on Sundays from 11AM to 4PM. My current favorite combo is Hojicha (from Daily Whisk Matcha) and their amazing Haupia (and I don't even like coconut that much). This pairing is so nice, with the creaminess of the haupia offset by the roasted flavor of the Hojicha. Nothing I've had from them is too sweet, and nothing tastes like those artificial flavors you'd find at some touristy spots. You can tell that they take pride in what they do and that they really know what they are doing. Some of my friends' favorite flavors include strawberry milk, matcha, and not-so-hot chocolate! The ice is so soft and although they give you a GIANT heap of shave ice, you can't stop eating it until it's GONE. Their prices are between $5 and $7, which is a STEAL for this quality of shave ice and syrups. And did I mention that these two are some of the nicest human beings you will ever meet? After our get together luncheon our Auntie Nadine suggested that we go and try this shave ice place. It was hard to find at 1st we were looking for a sign or something with their name but because they just open not to long ago and they probably never have time to get a sign yet finally we found it. One of the best shave ice places IMHO! The customer service is awesome and filled with ALOHA. The serving size is huge and the flavor of the syrups is what makes this place stand out. The syrup flavors are authentic and not crazy sweet. I had the POG and haupia syrups with ice cream, azuki beans and snow cap, so ONO! My wife had the Guava and Haupia with ice cream and she really enjoyed it as well. This place is legit and we will definitely be back next year when we visit home again. I also need to shout out the owners because during one of my visits at their last location, I showed up maybe an hour before closing however they had already closed up shop because they were almost sold out. Yay stoked to support a local pop up business in a new storefront location. Came across this business on social media and I'm always down for some shave ice, a staple in Hawaii. It was a little tricky to find just because it's so new that there's no sign up just yet but the pictures on Yelp definitely helped. A cute spot with two tables for four each and I believe a high top with four seats. It got busy as we were finishing up but there's also seats outside that people were using. You can enter from the street side or from the parking lot and they do have a bathroom available inside. Currently cash only and flavors vary each day. Opted to share a mango, Lilikoi, pog with snow cap for just $8. It was huge and yet so light and fluffy. It melts just perfectly and so refreshing. The owner and the other workers were all super friendly. I love when they welcome you as you enter and thank you when you leave. Will definitely be back to try some other flavors! This was a hit! The flavors were yummy! The portion is huge and thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but I did! The ice was so light and fluffy. The flavors I got were Matcha, Kinako Latte, and Strawberry Milk with ice cream and Snow Cap! My sisters got just a Vanilla (I didn't take a pic) and then another with Hojicha, Haupia, and Coffee. They were all soooo good. The best thing about it is that the Snow Cap is free!!! The wait was a bit long and we got our shaved ice approximately 30-45 minutes after ordering. But it's a new place, so I completely understand. The ambiance was chill and laid back. There's limited chairs and tables inside, but there are some also in the back where the parking lot is. Came here as my son wanted shave ice and it was close by our place. Parking was a little bit tough as there was some kaimuki event at the nearby Aliiolani school, so ended up parking in my friends parents driveway and walked a block away. Front entrance was closed so had to go to the back entrance from.the parking lot. They only accept cash, which I dont mind as I always have cash on me and never have ice cream, but was pleasantly surprised at the price $5 for a small, which was large to me, wonder how the large looks. They only had small sizes anyways. Shave ice was soft and flavors were pretty good. Not at good as Your Kitchen homemade flavors (sorry they moved to Japan) but great value for the price and will definitely be back. Hopefully never time they have ice cream. Came here for the hyped strawberry milk on shave ice. What?! It was a small area to dine in and they only take cash. I ordered 3 flavors, 2 times strawberry milk and 1 matcha and my better half got 1 strawberry milk and banana. The strawberry milk was incredibly fresh with just the right touch of sweetness, it tasted like sipping on a fresh strawberry bush. We leveled it up with a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of condensed milk, which made it extra creamy. I was a little bummed to miss out on the mochi topping (they were out that day), and I overheard someone asking for lychee, turns out they're still perfecting that recipe.
