Try this spot out!…read more Came here for dinner with a friend on a work trip and would go back again for certain! We shared the platter - pulled pork, ribs, brisket, collard greens, and Mac and cheese. The pulled pork was decent, but the ribs and the brisket were amazing! My favorite being the ribs. The collard greens and mac were also very good! Little salty for the greens but I loved it. The bbq sauce and the whole meal was awesome. The staff were friendly and we actually ran into a cook who is from San Diego which is where my coworker was from also. We finished with the pudding and oh boy was that a blast from the past. Took me back to being a kid and having banana pudding with vanilla wafers at grandmas. Ambiance is a small house style building that is next to a gas station. Don't let it fool you, they know what they're doing for bbq. If I wasn't across the country I'd go back here quite often! I love to bbq and can give a few places a run for their money, but not those ribs... Olde Towne smokehouse had some of the best ribs I've eaten. Good work, and good eatin! Recommend.

Tiny parking lot in tom, more down below, 2 picnic tables and 2 covers tables outside and a few small tables inside. So be prepared to sit outside ! Clean and easy . Would come here again and again!

Craving BBQ? Backwoodz is your place! The brisket with the fat cap on is AMAZING! So flavorful!…read moreCame in super hungry after a long travel day, and that first bite was heavenly. No sauce needed! Another standout was the cucumber & tomato salad which had just the right amount of vinegar. The green beans and the cabbage were tasty, but just a tad too salty for me. I can't fault them, as I rarely use salt, it's likely my palette that is off. The pulled pork was excellent, but needed sauce. Alas I cannot have sweet sauces. I then got the idea to combine the pork with the cabbage and found it similar to the experience of eating luau pork with poi. Better together! I added the leftover vinegar dressing from the C&T salad to the green beans and found that also was a hit. The desserts were very tempting, but I opted instead to order enough brisket and pulled pork for the weekend. It's proven to be very filling!! I also can't say enough about the staff. So genuinely welcoming, helpful, friendly, and clearly proud of their product (as they should be!). Put a smile on my face and will look forward to returning on future trips to Richmond!

The Mac and cheese.. the cheese was so hard I threw the whole thing away. The baked beans was canned no seasoning and my cabbage had more of the root then leaves. I paid $90+ and literally didn't even eat the pulled chicken. Not to mention, I received 4 slices of the brisket. 4 slices ... a compete joke. I used to hype this place up but today they robbed me. I'm so pissed!

It's one of those culinary grab bags where you never quite know if what you're eating is fresh, pre-prepared, good, bad, the best thing you've ever eaten, or hardly palatable. And it comes out of a vehicle. It's a weird experience that I 100% support. --Food: Every so often you come across a place where everything naturally gluten free, like 1 Smokery Pl., which is awesome news for me. I've been here a couple times and really have enjoyed everything! - Ghost Bites with Pork Belly: These are awesome! They're not really as hot as the name would make it sound, but they have a bit of a kick to them. The potato croquettes are absolutely amazing. I don't know how a potato croquette can be this tasty, but they're easily the star of the dish. They're crispy, seasoned impeccably, and have the most smooth and satisfying inside. The pork belly was good too, but really the potato and accompanying sauces are the real deal. - Smoked Chicken Nachos: Also really enjoyed these. Unlike the potato bites above, everything was more or less expected in these. That's not to say they're bad at all, because they're not, they're very tasty, but if you have in your mind what Smoked Chicken Nachos would taste like, you pretty much nailed it. - BBQ Bites: My fiancée got these and also really enjoyed them. The potatoes again were the center of discussion. --Cost: Well worth it and definitely in line with your average food truck prices. Most items are about $10, some the steak or fish being a little more. --Service: Staff is super nice. It's cook to order so you wait about 10/15 min for food. (like most Food Trucks). --Overall: Anyone that likes any of the descriptions of these items should check out 1 Smokery Pl., food allergies or not, as this is truly a great truck. If there was one downside it's that there seems to be an inconsistent schedule and finding them on any given day near you might be challenging. Other than that, easy 5 star for me.

I ordered the smoked pork belly bites to start. This portion was pretty good, but I thought it lacked a Smokey punch I was looking for. I finished with the Smokey tomato gazpacho. This was the real winner, amazing really. Smokey, a little spice, cool and refreshing, sweet, etc. The menu items were fun, but id love to see some traditional options as well (pulled pork, brisket, etc.).
