The subs we ordered were absolutely delicious, especially mine with the cheese bread. The staff were very friendly as well. We went in about an hour before close and they were pretty busy. The dining area was fairly full considering the time of night and they were packing call ahead as well as door dash orders. It wasn't very loud given that it was busy so that was nice. The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took over 30 minutes for 3 subs to be made. Call ahead orders and door dash orders seemed to take priority to orders of customers who walked in. If you're looking to come here, at least at this location, I'd call ahead or order ahead somehow because it was frustrating waiting that long. read more

Ordered the number 26 on DoorDash and made sure to call up there to let them know I did not want ranch on my sub. The female representative that I spoke with lied and told me that there was no ranch on my ticket. I received my order with dollops of ranch on it after calling up there the same representative that I spoke with continued to lie and blamed the manager. It is not possible that the ticket printed "no ranch" on it simply because that it's not an option on DoorDash. the food is always good no doubt about that but today , January 4th 2026 around 4:30pm we had the worst experience. the workers took way too long to take my order and was working on other sandwiches for an order later in the day. i get doing those but when im standing right in front of you for over 5 minutes its just rude. then once the girl gets to topping my sandwich she proceeded to stop mid sandwich dress to talk with her coworker. took another 5 minutes. then as she's walking away she spills ranch ALL over the back line. then cleans it up off the FLOOR, then washes her hands for .5 seconds. Went above & beyond for customer service in preparing a sub that was not listed on the menu in house.

Stopped in the area for the night. Realizing it was getting close to closing for everything (9pm on a Sunday) we decided that subs sounded like the way to go. Jersey Mike's is a solid chain, hasn't let us down in the past, so we ordered online for pickup. We split an Italian, and asked for some specifics- like Mayo on only half, extra oregano, and banana peppers. Mom went and got the sub, and returned pretty quickly. They didn't include the asked for napkins, so I was doubtful they'd get the specifics of the sandwich correct. I was proven wrong- they did. Our family of five just stopped here for dinner on our way back to Maryland. Boy did it hit the spot. The staff was super helpful and accommodating, friendly with all customers. Our food was delicious! Boys had cheesesteaks with provolone, husband had the Italian and I had turkey and provolone on the rosemary bread. Yum! I heard that they had gluten free bread and was looking forward to trying it. I went in and asked for the gluten free bread. The server changed his gloves after he had any contact with any other bread after this. The next server was informed of this and changed his gloves as well. The original server got a knife out of the back that was cleaned appropriately and the knife was used for the rest of my service there with no contamination of any gluten products! I have visited many Jersey Mike's Subs in the Richmond, VA area with mostly great food and service. I'm not sure why this store has employees with such poor attitudes. This visit was fine until it was time to pay. I had this issue the last time I was here as well. I usually pay with my debit card. The comments made from the person checking my order out have been "the machine's been acting screwy lately" or it's "acting up again" or phrases along those lines. Then, I get an attitude from them when I question it. The panel for entering my phone number to get my points zings by and I have to go through the motions again only to hear, as in this last visit, an exasperated sigh as if I was the issue. There is a newer store up the road on route 301 and I'm sure that will be my new "go-to" Jersey Mike's in the hopes I find employees who aren't so bored with their job. The food is good... I mean it's the same food as anywhere else. The ONE individual who was actually working at 3:30 today, I didn't get his name, was very polite and helpful... The other FIVE individuals standing in the back talking (including at least one manager) were not. I stood there clearly needing help, looking right at them as three walked right by me, yet they continued back to hiding. I do not feel I should have to ask someone in a customer service field to help me as a customer. This is not the only time I've had problems with this particular Jersey Mike's. The subs are a great size. They have mini, regular and giant size. The giant size is enough for two people. The service was fast and polite. We paid 23 bucks for a giant size philly and regular size all American. We will def be returning. read more

Absolutely horrible me and my bf went in to get subs for the both of us. First off it was almost 30 dollars for two sandwiches and my bfs sandwich didn't have a problem but in my steak and cheese sub there was plastic riddled everywhere. Lord knows if I consumed any because I didn't notice until I was halfway through my sandwich or if it's even safe to consume. Will not be coming back ever. read more

This is the closest Jersey Mikes to me. I just moved back to VA from TX and I can say the customer service is totally different. I'm used to walking in and the workers saying hello. Obviously that's not a practice here. I have come to this location a few times and each time it's the same, the workers carrying on their own personal conversations with each other.. why do I care if a customer came in just trying to buy bread or that another customer asked for a sub with less meat and wanted to pay more. This practice of the workers having all these conversations and not focusing on the customer finally led to them messing up my order. I didn't noticed until I got home which is about 20 minutes. I called and the assistant manager said I could bring it back. Really I'm not driving 20 minutes back to remake what should've been right in the first place. Always my go-to place for subs in Mechanicsville. I generally come here once a week. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. Plenty of ingredients stuffed in the sub. Very clean place with a couple of flat screens. Highly recommended. read more
