I am obsessed with Chiloso, and this location is AMAZING!! The customer service was fantastic, as usual. Everyone was so sweet, and the store was super clean. I typically get their nachos for lunch/dinner, but this time I decided to build my own breakfast taco. This is hands down the greatest breakfast taco I've ever had!! I mean hello - the fact that I was able to load it up with ALL of my favorite toppings?? SENSATIONAL. Plus the jalepeno ranch, is NEXT LEVEL. The first time I ordered from this place six days ago.I thought it was great except for the black bits of char all through my food that I had to keep picking out. The second time I ordered, I didn't expect to find the same black char in my food, It wasn't as much, but it was still there. I went to Chiloso on Saturday Dec 6 at 6pm. the amount of food they put in my bowl was so small. He put to small scoops of rice. you can still see the bottom of the bowl. everything he added was so small. I been to this location a few times and always received a fair portion for the price. This is an order at the counter place. Ask for salsa, or you don't get any. Just as well, chips were stale and old. Rice and beans are plain and need salt and pepper. Very pricey and without a lot of food. The service was not very good. I expected the food to be somewhat fast but I ended up waiting over 30 minutes to get my food after waiting in line for 15 minutes. I had to switch my food to To Go. The manager did apologize and said the kitchen was backed up but there was only one other table so I couldn't imagine if they had a full restaurant. I definitely won't be coming back. read more

I've recently been eating here again, but I was originally introduced to it in 2018 when my coworkers would go out and pick it up for us. I was obsessed then and I'm still obsessed. I've had their old school street tacos twice, and I've had their bowl once, and I can't remember exactly what I used to get back when I first tried it, but I remember loving it. Oh and they give you chips and your choice of a sauce, I tend to go for the jalapeño ranch, mmmmm soooo goood!! I will say their prices are a little steeper than your typical fast food joint but the ingredients used are worth it. I just recently introduced my bf and he loved it. Side note the cook and all the employees I've encountered are all so sweet and patient when I try and decide what I'm wanting. We've been here for breakfast several times and it's always good. You can build your own tacos or bowl, and it comes with chips and a drink. My husband and I ate for a little under $30. I never had a bad experience at chiloso food has always been great, however I went in 10/26 for a burrito. Either the grilled onions were burnt or the barbacoa meat...with every bite I took I would bite into crunch pieces of charred I open burrito open and see several pieces big/small burnt it was awful and ruined the whole burrito. read more

I'm surprised how many people in Denton don't know about this place! It's sort of a hidden gem in a shopping center not too many people go to. This place is fast casual, very similar to Chipotle or Freebird's. The awesome part is that you can also order items from the kitchen. I haven't had the bowls or burritos/tacos so I can't really comment much on those. Every time I've come here for breakfast/lunch/dinner I've ordered something from the kitchen. I recommend the egg topped enchiladas (breakfast), avocado shrimp tacos on corn tortillas, grilled avocados with either barbacoa or chicken, or the grilled salmon tacos. I haven't had anything from here that I haven't liked yet! Tips: Be sure to try the jalapeño ranch! It goes GREAT with EVERYTHING! In the vast universe of fat casual Mexican where you go through the line to pick you ingredients for either salads, bowls, nachos, burritos or tacos, this restaurant felt middle of the pack to me. The quantity was smaller than some, but ample, and the ingredients seemed fresh enough. So all in all it was a good experience. The chips themselves that I had were a bit stale or perhaps just too thick for my taste. The restaurant was a little dingy as far as cleanliness, which caused me to wipe down my table. There was a leak in the ceiling near the soft drinks which was a little disturbing as I reached around the bucket to get to the machine. No apology or no sign, just a bucket capturing drips. And one very annoying items was how loud the music was playing. It made conversation hard. I don't think I will return based on this experience even tough the food was good. read more

So I had been to their location is Rowlett before but I didn't really like it that much. I decided to give them another chance since they opened up a new location in Denton. I got a bowl to go with chicken. There are so many more different toppings you can add on to your bowl then you can at chipotle. They also have refried beans and the rice is Mexican style. Another plus about this place is that you can get queso for free! I feel like that just makes its so much better. For the sauces I got habanero and jalapeño ranch. The habanero wasn't that spicy at all and ranch was on point!! They also have a lot more variety then chipotle. You can get other made to order items and they also have a daily special of certain items they have everyday. Another bonus is that they give you free chips with your meal! I was so surprised. I got more jalapeño ranch for my chips because it's that good. It is a little more pricer than chipotle but you get a bunch of food and chips! I think it's worth it! read more

A great place hidden away in a strip mall. If you live in the area, you should consider looking these folks up. These guys offer many selections, but I'm going to tell you about some amazing tacos that I got there. You can get your tacos any way you want: tortilla, corn tortilla, crunchy taco shell, etc. Fillings offered include steak, grilled chicken, regular taco "meat" (I didn't try that selection), barbacoa, and spiced shredded chicken. Seems like there was another option, but I got the grilled chicken, steak, and spicy shredded chicken. All were amazing. The spicy chicken wasn't a joke either. It was a bit hotter than I was expecting, but very tasty. Once you select the filling you get to choose all manner of accouterments for your tacos from queso to shredded cheese to guac and so on. I got queso and shredded cheese and tomato and grilled onion and they were pretty amazing! I also opted for the rice and refried beans and those too were really good. The chips and salsa was also a treat as they offer 6 different options for salsa ranging from creamy ranch style dip to full on habernaro pepper salsa and all points in between. The Scoville scale is well represented. Personally I liked the salsa verde and the creamy jalapeno ranch dip. This is a great place that offers all kinds of selections including breakfast options if you're up early and want something different for breakfast. Next time you're in the mood for tacos, consider giving these guys a try. I don't think you will regret it. read more

Menu and set up looks to be modeled after chipotle .. I Ordered the bowl with 1/3 green chili pork and 1/2 steak - initially I ordered the burrito and wanted my rice and beans on the side as I didn't know if I would like them and they said If it was put on the side that I would be charged for a full side of rice and beans so I opted for the bowl so I could determine what I wanted in my tortilla - the meats are mediocre ..not bad but not as good as chipotle ( sorry I hate comparing but given this is basically the same type of place the comparison is going to be there) and there was a lot of fat in the steak and pork .. don't get me wrong they had good taste I just had to pick the fat out. When we arrived there were some items on the line that just didn't look too fresh and tops were not on them - the rice beans and veggies notably.. They're using dirty mop heads so the restaurant smells gross & musty at the moment. For the owners sake - wet floor signs need to be more visible lol. I moved one off the wall in front of the door as we left. Scratches the back of her head several times with both hands & adjusted her hat. I asked her to change her gloves & warm a new, fresh one. Update number 2: since Chiloso is so close to the office it has become my obsession. Today and last Friday i had the Grilled Fish Tacos with a side Salad. Listen,`these Fish Tacos were better than most I've had from those Restaurants that sell only Fish Tacos. Topping them off with all the fresh ingredients your little heart desires is just an added bonus. I only added the Jalapeno Ranch Sauce which took them to a whole other level. Who am I kidding, I had no choice but to give them 5 Stars. No kidding I have eaten here 4 times this week , once was to try the Breakfast Tacos. I went here with my Yelp bestie T.W.,on Friday so we could catch up and have an early dinner before hitting up some macarons across the street. Upon entering I was surprised to see it was a fast casual concept similar to Chipotle or Freebirds. For some reason I thought it was a sit down place. No matter, food is food... except I was really confused by their menu so I had to stare at it for a while. After being there for a while I get the impression that they were going for 'Spicy version of Chipotle' but I can't be too certain. They have a small selection of menu items, but most options are build your own. Everything seemed to be mostly in the $8-14 range. I was kind of surprised that I didn't find the menu super appealing so I decided to go with a bowl. When we approached the line I saw they have a specials board with 3 options for the day and I perked up. Fish tacos sounded good. After talking to the employee on the line and getting her opinion on some things, I went with a bowl after all. T.W. went with the OMG quesadilla. I had every intention of making a rice bowl with roasted pork until I saw the ingredients. Most of the meat looked really old and unappealing and not worth the risk of getting sick. This was before the main dinner rush so there is a chance they were about to change it out with fresher ingredients, but they were full, so I find that improbable. When I inquired about which one was the roasted pork (could NOT tell the difference) and she scooped it around, it looked really discolored and clumpy and I started getting nervous. The steak and chicken looked to be the freshest and best options. I went with a rice bowl with refried beans, steak, chicken, queso, shredded cheese, lettuce and corn. Most items had scoops, but none of the veggies did and I found it really unsettling that the employee hand scooped the corn with gloves like that was normal and how she was trained. What about allergies and cross contamination? That was just unnerving and I saw no good reason not to have scoops and tongs in the veggie section. The portion was a fair size for $9. The OMG Quesadilla was smaller than I thought it would be, I thought that portion was a little overpriced at $9. The chips and salsa were complimentary. The small drink was just shy of $2. The drink station counters were very wet, as were the trash counters. About half the tables looked customer bussed instead of clean. I did think it was nice to have both tables and booths to choose from as that's not usually the option for fast casual. The chips were stale and mostly ignored. I didn't care for my meal. Individually some of the components were okay- the lettuce was good, the corn was good and most of the steak was good. The chicken was stringy, the beans flavorless and mushy, the rice was tasteless and clumpy. The queso had good spice to it but was not complimentary with the dish after all. Everything together was extremely unappetizing, unappealing and borderline disgusting. I think this has a lot to do with textures, freshness and cook. I left most of it behind, it just wasn't a satisfying meal with good ingredients. The OMG quesadilla lacked some ingredients as well, one of the quesadillas was practically empty. It looked better than my meal but it didn't sound like it tasted any better. We both left dissatisfied. I'm giving this a 3 star because I think this fast casual concept appeals to specific tastes and that we weren't the ideal customers for them. Even so, that doesn't mean the restaurant should be dirty, the ingredients be old at any time of the day or the price be out of line with quality and portion. That being said, the flavor profile and spiciness factor seems to be the main draw. If you normally enjoy Tex Mex fast food chains and wish they had more of a kick, I think this would probably be a 3 or 4 star experience for you. This just wasn't my cup of tea and I will not be back. I found it to be a 2 1/2 star experience but since I don't think this place is geared toward me, I'm rounding up in an attempt to be fair to the restaurant and their actual customer base. read more

On a Sunday evening a friend convinced me to try Chiloso as she frequents the location in Richardson and loves it. At a little after 9pm we walk in to order take out. They close at 9:30 so being fast food it shouldn't be a problem to grab something to go. The staff member at the front who I believe to be Molly B according to the receipt seems irritated that she has customers. She is wearing food handling gloves and moves the mop bucket around and walks over to take our order and scratches her head (same food handling gloves on btw) she reaches for a tortilla and asks my friend what she would like. My friend who is trying to be polite and think of a way to say something nicely hesitates for a moment then just says "naw I'm good" Then finally says "You know you were just scratching your head with the gloves on and didn't change them and that's unsanitary....actually it's nasty" The staff member trashed the tortilla that was in her hand and changed her gloves and asked again what she would like. My friend order a chicken burrito and a drink, paid and walked to the side. I ordered one barbacoa taco for my daughter, one bean and cheese burrito for my son. As she's making the order another customer(s) come in and she tells me in a very irritated way "This happened yesterday too. A bunch of customers come in right before close" I hadn't looked up so I assumed several people had just walked in. I then a chicken quesadilla for myself. She immediately asked the cook if the grill had been cleaned yet before acknowledging my order. The cook confirmed it had not been and the order was fine. It was NOT closing time yet and that was totally unprofessional for her to even yell back at the cook like I was an inconvenience to her. I understand cleaning and getting ready for closing but you still have to be prepared to serve until closing and while being somewhat courteous. After paying I walked across the sloppy mopped floor which smelled like stale mop water and definitely did not leave the floor clean. My flip flops were sticking to the floor. I thought I might lose one by walking right out of it when it stuck to the floor That's when I notice it was only one man behind me that had come in so her statement of "a bunch of customers coming in right at close" must have been about my friend , myself and the man behind us. She should probably understand that you don't complain to the customer when it's the customer you're whining about!!! When my order was ready and she started to place the food into the bag I started to walk back over to the counter. As I approached she dropped the bean and cheese burrito into the watery pico looking salsa . She grabbed it out and said "Oopsy! That's never happened before." I could clearly see it dripping and she placed it in the bag. ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!?! I was trying very hard to mask anger at this point. I pulled the burrito back out and unwrapped it as the juice was dripping all over the counter. She walked back my direction and I thought maybe she would offer to remake it if she saw that the tortilla was wet and soggy. Nope. So I said "hey, can I at least get a dry tortilla hoping that she might offer." She grabbed a tortilla and said want me to warm it? I was so pissed I just said no thanks I do it myself at home. Looking back I should have said sure and while you're at it put some beans and cheese on it too So I get home and apparently you get chips with your order which is nice but no salsa. My friend said umm we're suppose to get salsa. Being my first time I had no clue. My son said his bean and cheese burrito tasted funny. I'm sure it did lol it was a mangled salvage. Beans had a weird sweet taste. Daughters barbacoa looked like mush and the portion was ridiculously small for a $3.95 taco. My quesadilla was actually delicious but one was empty and the rice I didn't care for it. As I approached, I briefly paused since the same said "bistro." I contemplated whether that meant the food would be priced higher than normal. After getting a look at the menu, it confirmed my suspicions. The food was great for flavor and freshness. Several menu items are very creative and original. However, the attempt to knock off Chipotle's business model was not worth the $10 burrito bowl. The true "round" bowl is not only smaller than the competitor, the amount of meat (chicken today), did not even equal half a chicken breast. Therefore, I can only give this rating, as the value is not consistent with the product delivered. The location is nice. But, with only 3-4 tables filled, the staff were way behind on wiping down tables and stocking ingredients on the "creation station." It was a nice experience, but I won't be back. Very solid! Those that know me know I don't do Chipotle. Chipotle is bland and EXTRA basic, but THIS place... Now it has the same setup and the menu is somewhat similiar, but they impressed me with that green chili pulled pork and spicy chicken option for my tacos. The third taco was a basic beef, but ALL had great flavor. None of that add salt and salsa mess you have to do with Chipotle. The rice was good and has some kind of veggies or something in it, and honestly the refried beans were just alright. If I wasnt a whimp, I would've got the charros beans with bacon and other spices in it, but it was spicy. Tried this place out today and it's very very tasty. I got the bowl with chicken. Lots of options to customize and lots of meat choices. The fajita peppers have a great grilled flavor that really tastes great with the food. I tried the verde sauce and it was also a winner.
