The entire restaurant, including the bar, is literally set in the sand, with tables right on the water just a few feet from the ocean. It's barefoot, toes in the sand dining done right, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit. We did have one hiccup in the evening due to a rowdy group from a drone company that was extremely intoxicated and invasive of our space. Their belongings kept ending up on our table, and there were drunk men taking their shirts off and doing shots just a few feet away. Not sure if they didn't have enough tables or what, but we had made a reservation to celebrate a special event months in advanced, so it was a bit irritating. The servers eventually handled it and intervened multiple times, but at no point were they asked to move or relocate. Once that group settled down, the night became a much more enjoyable experience. We were a party of 12, and every single person raved about both their food and drinks. For drinks we had: Prickly Pear: Made with Orange Blossom Condesa Gin, St Germain, fresh lemon juice, rosemary syrup, mint, and strawberry. Bright and refreshing, though it came with more foam on top than expected. Coco Loco: A fresh whole coconut with Patrón Silver tequila, vodka, rum, gin, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. A true showstopper. Don't be intimidated by the mix of liquor, it is smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. No hangovers were had. Espresso Martini: Simple and clean with a light foam. Well executed, but not a signature cocktail compared to the others. For food we had: We were surprised with an amuse bouche of huitlacoche, often called Mexican truffle. It's a corn fungus with a rich, earthy flavor and this small bite was outstanding and set the tone for the meal. Queso Fundido: Oaxaca cheese with chorizo and flour tortillas. Great flavor, but very thick, making it a bit messy and difficult to serve. Guacamole: Prepared with tomato, onion, cilantro, and cotija cheese. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, and especially enjoyable paired with the queso fundido. Brisket: Served in chileatole sauce with huitlacoche truffle, carrots, and cotija cheese. Comforting, rich, and deeply flavorful. Robalo Guayaba: Guava sea bass served in guava sauce with chiltepín chili. Beautifully cooked with just a little too much sweetness and citrus. It would have benefited from a little bit of heat, or a vegetable or side to pair it with, as it is not served with anything other than a cooked slices of lemon. Creme Brulee Mexicano: A rice pudding infused crème brûlée with caramel and vanilla ice cream. A thoughtful twist on the classic, with the rice pudding adding depth and warmth to the dessert. Knocked down to 4 stars due to the rowdiness of some surrounding guests. We were seated on the sand and needed to walk through the entirety of the restaurant, but people without tables or reservations were standing in the middle of walkways and sitting on the steps down to the beach, many too intoxicated to stand up. I'm hopeful this is not the usual clientele, and I would return for the quality of the food, drinks, and the gorgeous setting. read more

We ate here two times for breakfast, two times for lunch, & once for dinner and almost everything we tried was pretty good. The Benedict w/salmon, the bagel, with goat cheese & salmon were very tasty. We also enjoyed the guacamole, ceviche appetizers the only appetizer we not wild about was the Crema de Elote. The Lido Burger was very juicy & well seasoned & I loved the Octopus tacos. For dinner we shared the catch of the day fish & it was very tasty. This is another great restaurant based on its location on the beach. It's always amazing to be able to have your toes in the sand while you eat. We started out with drinks. I got a drink that I can't remember the name of but it's served in a fresh coconut. it was OK, but looked amazing. For starters, we got calamari which was average. I got the Lido shrimp, which were really good in my opinion. My daughter got the salmon and my wife got the chicken fajitas. We were all very satisfied with our meals. Of course you're going to pay a little more being on the beach but it's the experience that's costing you the money. It is well worth it. Service is on point. Recommended by me. read more

Lido Beach Club Restaurant was such a refreshing spot to visit in Playa del Carmen. The restaurant is open and right along side the local beach. This created such a relaxing ambience. It was nice to see so many different options on their food menu. For brunch, I ended up ordering the avocado toast which was so delicious and fresh! The pumpkin seeds were a different touch that gave the dish an extra kick and I loved it! Along with the great service, this is a low key spot that I recommend to visit during your stay in Playa de Carmen! read more

I finally found Lido! Last time when I was in Playa I was trying to look for Lido but ended up at Zenzi instead because my map told me I was at Lido but I didn't see a sign saying Lido so I went to Zenzi. This time I kept walking and Lido is RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! So glad I finally found Lido! I was instantly seated by Mimi who ended up being my server. Mimi was awesome and very attentive and always smiling. I love friendly servers!!! The other gentlemen who helped me throughout my meal was also very nice. Overall the people who work at Lido are fantastic! I came on a Tuesday around 5pm and it wasn't busy at all. First thing I notice about Lido was that it felt really clean. Even though the ambiance was outside like most other restaurants and beach club it just felt really clean. The table I sat at was not sticky at all unlike other places. They had a modify menu when I visited but there was still plenty of stuff to choose from. I decided on a shrimp cocktail and a lido burger. Both the shrimp cocktail and lido burger did not disappoint. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and had a good amount of shrimp and flavor to it. The burger was AS BIG AS MY HEAD!!! Tasted as big as my head too and full of flavor. Yummy yummy burger. I added some chipotle sauce and ranch to the burger and it made the burger even better. The burger came with potato wedges and the wedges were fried perfectly! ANOTHER BIG PLUS..They give you METAL straws not paper straws. AMAZING!!! I never knew I would have a straw preference but metal straws over paper straws. I also like plastic but it seems like plastic is less common in Mexico because of the environment I think? I can't speak on the food, I only had drinks. The cocktails were cute but I tasted no liquor. The view is nice, right on the beach. They have plenty of seating. The bar area has swings. Get the shrimp wrapped bacon! It was really flavorful, who doesn't like bacon! The ceviche here was like more of a sour soup and not so great. It was a plus they brought chips and different salsas for free- most places do not provide that. The ambiance is great they have swings at the bar and it's on the beach. Food is solid. There are a ton of vegan and veggie options. Coffee was great. Lattes in Mexico can easily be coffee, sorry but there's a difference. Lido's lattes were jamming. I'm in Mexico so I want Mexican food and ordered the octopus tacos and although I feel terrible about eating such a smart animal, it was delicious and fresh!! This is a word to the wise for anyone who has a nut allergy and visits Mexico. They often put peanuts in some of their hotter salsas. So always ask. Although we were in Mexico, my kids ordered American food and they were all really happy. The worst part of the meal was my kids bickering over the foot space under the table. But they will fight about anything. I'm proud of myself for not running into the ocean. They can be maddening! But I digress. This spot is all about the view. We were visiting Playa during peak season of spring break. We basically got right in. We were sat immediately at the table, closest to the water. They give you lots of time to just sit here and chill. The service is slow, but it doesn't matter because you're literally sitting feet away from the ocean. Would definitely visit this spot again. We came to Lido for a Paint and Sip event, and stayed for dinner afterwards. The setting is fabulous-literally toes in the sand and listening to the waves. Great service and a menu with a lot of great options, including many vegan/vegetarian dishes. I had the portobello burger and loved it! Very tasty and super crispy fries. I also enjoyed the lime daiquiri, and I'm not a big fan of those. Honestly, we don't go down to the more touristy areas of Playa much, but I would come back here for sure! Tip: they have a 10% locals discount if you show your Mexican residency card. read more

We came here for dinner and we so pleasantly surprised! The staff was very attentive and nice. I've seen some people complain about waiting for the check, in Mexico, it's considered rude to present the check before asking for it. The atmosphere was excellent, they had a live band performing, and had great food and drinks. We ordered the guacamole, popcorn shrimp and shrimp tacos. All the food was amazing. The shrimp tacos were so big and tasty, excellent value. We also had 2 Caipirinhas, they also were very good. I highly recommend coming here. read more

If you're in Playa - you need to check this place out. I LOVE this place. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, snacks, mid-day hang - and everything in between. One time we stayed for breakfast, lunch and happy hour after for almost 6 hours! They've got a really good vibe and you can totally work here during the day if you're a digital nomad. We come here to eat and work while enjoying putting our feet in the sand and sitting in front of the ocean. The staff are also so amazing and by the second time they all remembered us! There's a few plugs as well so if you're low on battery on your laptop - don't fret! Breakfast is until 11 and they've got amazing combos that are sooo worth it considering it's beach front and the quality of everything. We've tried the green chilaquiles, green juice, coffee and huevos divordatos - everything was amazing!! Lunch we've had the lido shrimp (omg must try!! It's shrimp wrapped with bacon and cream cheese!), aracherra with grilled vegetables (we've had this twice already!), fish tacos (some of the best I've had) and the coconut shrimp (sooo tasty). Happy hour is from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm every day and it's 2 for 1 special which is also - so worth it. There's live music everyday and they usually start from 3 pm onwards. Overall - amazing place to chill and work. Plus, some of the best food I've had on a beach club!!! Definitely one of my favourite places in playa!!! read more

I came to Lido Beach Club because I wanted a beach chair and service. However, there was no beach. I'm not sure if it is high tide across PDC but there was only a restaurant. Now the restaurant was delicious. I had a caipirinha and the grilled octopus. The mozzarella sticks and sweet potato fries were also great. Im giving this place a three because the service was awful. It took the waiter forever to take our order (drinks and food) and then they never came by with the check and we had to flag someone down after a while. Im disappointed by the lack of beach but that is not the restaurants fault (clearly). read more

Coconut shrimp, and cubed tuna with mango are amazing. So are the homemade tortilla chips. Sit on the beach in a lounge chair and eat.

The place has a beautiful view, the sitting area is comfortable, and it's a great spot to take pictures. If you are looking for continental breakfast this is a great place to eat. However, if you are looking for authentic food this is not the place to come and eat. Also, their service was not great. It took long to bring our drinks and food. But they were quick in bringing our check. This is the reason for the low star rating. read more

We went here twice already in a week. Food is so good, prices are very affordable for the type of seafood you get ($15ish for an amazing ceviche and $15ish for tuna tartare!).
