Tavern style pizza spot with lots of seating. Was skeptical as it was empty but it was daytime. After eating the pizza I know why it's busy as the Mexican was declious. Never had beans on pizza but it was delicious. I got half with pesto and that too was solid. I'd go back to try more others and service was quick too. Will be back for a game.

Bolognese (3/5): Lots of meat which was great, but the rest of the dish was just ok. The sauce was decent, but the pasta was a little overcooked. The server recommended adding fresh mozzarella which was a great suggestion.  Corn Dip (3/5): Pretty underwhelming. The dip itself was ok, but the chips were just grocery store corn chips and not great.  Capricciosa Pizza (3/5): Not the quality of pizza I was hoping for. The meats were fine, but totally overwhelmed any other flavors. More sauce (or a slightly sweeter sauce) might have helped, but I couldn't really taste the sauce or the cheese. The crust was also pretty bland and forgettable.  RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

My experience was just okay. Intermezzo was on my list and driven by a lot, but I never stopped in. On a rainy Friday night, I decided to stop in. The hostess wasn't the friendliest but did give me an honest wait time. She sat me out on the patio, and it was a bit chilly even with the heaters, but I made do. The cocktail was my favorite part of the meal. I don't remember which one it was, but it was good. The server was nice enough but a bit slow coming and going, and could have been more attentive on a cold night. I ordered the piroska, which is essentially a stromboli with sour cream. While the sour cream gives it a nice twist, it's still nothing to write home about. While eating, I decided that I wouldn't order again and was underwhelmed by the experience. It was also overpriced given the mediocrity of the service and the food.

Random stop because the original place we went did not have food that day - and boy, what a find in Charlotte! The inside is super cozy, old school feel. They also have outdoor heated seating in the winter. Service is amazing, our server was very patient and helpful with our indecisiveness. If you can't decide one, the large allows half half choices And on Wednesdays, they do half off any bottle of wine!

    Asparagus

This was our second time eating here. We ordered the lasagna both times, and it was good and very comforting, exactly what we were looking for. Last night we got the lasagna to go with a side of asparagus, and they gave us 8 stalks for $11.50. I'm sorry, but that's straight-up robbery. You can buy an entire bushel at Whole Foods for $5, so paying almost $12 for eight cooked stalks is crazy... make it make sense. After reading other reviews, it seems to be a common trend when ordering to-go

This was my first visit! I read reviews and since the reviews were great 9 out of 10 I decided to try it. I had my godmom and daughter come with me . I must say the pizza was absolutely delicious. We had 3 different orders. Here are a few pics. Pizza came out hot and delicious

Plaza Midwood staple, locally owned, and a nice spot to eat/drink. Has a cute outdoor patio that's great most year round and covered during the winters. It's Serbian, despite the pizzas and the Italian sounding name. Pro tips: 1. Piroska is my favorite item on the menu, it's calzone-like and tasty, highly recommend 2. Pizza is solid, but varies depending on selection 3. Lasagna is tasty, but the portion is unfilling 4. Get the crostini appetizer over the bruschetta 5. Credit cards are charged a 3.5% fee, this is only communicated on bottom of the receipts 6. The waiters often ask if you want spinach in your piroska or marinara with your appetizer (such as the crostini), they're always an unspoken extra, $1 and $2 respectively. Definitely get the marinara, just be aware.

Even after seeing them on Diners Drive-ins and Dives I don't know why I waited so long to come here. The Piroska was featured on Triple D and I had to have one. It's like a calzone from a 10 inch pizza topped with sour cream, tomato sauce, and cheese. The sour cream added a delicious element and simply put created a standout dish. The Capriciosa Pizza had a thinner crust which had a slight chew but did not reach the point of being overdone or crunchy. Walking in the owners asked us to choose our seat and they introduced themselves. The location is small and intimate and has a full bar. There is also a patio which would be great to enjoy when the weather. So often we ask if the food is authentic. Here's a family bringing Serbian dishes to Charlotte. If you're looking for something you won't find every day try Intermezzo.

This menu is full of delicious pizza and amazing dinners. I got a lemon chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes and every bite was absolutely heavenly! The service was excellent and the server was so friendly. So many great things to choose from. I can't wait to check this out again. There were so many things I wish I could haveeaten off the menu

    Ricotta And Goat Cheese Crostini
    Lance E.

This has been one of my favorite places on this culinary journey. The place is casual with a local independently owned feel. The service was absolutely fantastic. Jacob suggested we check out their website site for images of the food. We started with the ricotta and goat cheese crostini. The goat cheese was smooth cut with the ricotta and had a fresh lemon hint to it. The crostini is crisp and definitely home made. The tomato sauce was chunky and fresh. One of our friends got the stuffed peppers that he recommended and had several times. Jacob got the Cabbage Rolls and I had a few bites and it was pretty great. Our other friend and I got the Eggplant Musaka. Yes, I shared with Jacob, and he agreed...best eggplant he's ever had. Sorry I have to start another paragraph on this AMAZING dish. It was by far one of the most amazing things I've ever put in my mouth. The eggplant was thin and crisp. The meat was delicious and the sauce was fresh and home made. This is a foodies dream. Something downright perfect, fresh and memorable. The dish that makes your eyes close and you just feel the goodness and freshness of flavor that sends you into quietness. We took tiramisu home and I can't wait to inhale the sweet coffee flavored goodness of this beautiful desert. If you're in Charlotte the home of great food. Do yourself and guests a favor and stop in to have some amazing Serbian family food.

My sister and I are novices when it comes to coffee so we really didn't know what we want, but the barista listened to what we liked and made the perfect recommendation (decaf/1 shot caramel macchiato). We also met the owner and she was so personable! I'll definitely be back, just have to figure out where to park lol. Boxes piled up everywhere, a random balloon arch. A merch table ? The waiting line also goes right through the middle of the seating area. So I kept getting bumped into and having to move back to make way for walking people. Very clunky. 1.0 The last thing I'll note, which isn't an overall ding towards them, but it added to the experience...I was waiting behind 1 single girl, and when she was next - FIVE other people came up to join her. Ordering one by one. And then a group of 6 other people tried to join in, but then somehow ended up behind me. The line was already 10 people deep. I'm not sure how anyone let this happen....

I had recently tried this drink at another Haraz location and loved it so much that I officially considered myself a matcha drinker. When I received my drink, I noticed it looked much pinker than it had at the other locations I'd visited. I assumed it had just been mixed and that the usual layers of matcha, strawberry, and whipped cloud had blended together, so I didn't think much of it. However, after taking my first sip in the car, it immediately tasted like strawberry milk. Since I was on my way to work, I kept drinking it, expecting the matcha flavor to come through, but it never did. It was disappointing because the drink was nothing like the one I've had several times at other Haraz locations. I hope this location places an emphasis on training and consistency so the drinks meet the same standard as the rest of the Haraz locations. On a positive note, the staff members were kind, welcoming, and greeted me as soon as I walked in.

They sell out quickly, so the move is to get there early and grab one while it's still warm. Trust me, if you're going to get one, get two. The café sits inside the lobby level of the Charlotte Marriott City Center, which makes it easy to access if you're already walking around Uptown. If you're doing a quick drive-by, just be friendly with the valet--tip them and pop inside to grab your coffee and pastry. They offer a full coffee program with plenty of alternative milk options (oat milk is my current go-to). I also appreciate the little details like turbinado sugar, bamboo stir sticks, and recyclable cups, which give the place a sustainable touch. The space itself is really stylish and comfortable. There's even a small amphitheater-style seating area, making it a cool spot to hang out, meet friends, or get some work done for a while. Insider tip: Go early for the cronuts--they disappear fast. That search led me to Vicente in South End, and I'm happy to say it absolutely earned its spot on my list. The kouign-amann here was slightly lighter and a bit less dense and buttery than the ones I remember from the Bay Area, but it still hit all the right notes--caramelized edges, flaky layers, and just enough indulgence to satisfy the craving. When you find one in Charlotte, you take note. I also ordered a frangipane (marzipan) croissant, which is always one of my go-to pastries when it's done well. This one delivered--rich, nutty, and comforting without being overly sweet. I'm not much of a chocolate pastry person, so I tend to gravitate toward custard- or almond-filled items, and this bakery clearly understands how to execute those classics. The space itself is beautiful--clean glass storefront, modern aesthetic, and a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. It's attached to a large apartment complex with underground parking, which makes it surprisingly easy to access. Very walkable, very convenient, and refreshingly low-stress compared to some of the trendier spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices felt reasonable for the quality. One small wish: I'd love to see a late-day pastry special or a loyalty program. I'm the kind of regular who will absolutely show up more often if there's an incentive--and let's be honest, pastries are hard to resist when there's a little nudge. I'll definitely be back, especially if they start experimenting with more creative flavors. A kouign-amann with poached fruit--nectarine, mango, or passionfruit--would have me running back through the door. And candidly, I'm grateful Charlotte's pastry scene is still growing. It means there's room for bakeries like this to shine and keep raising the bar. As someone who loves good food, I'm always rooting for local bakers and artisans to succeed. Bottom line: A beautiful neighborhood bakery with solid execution, friendly service, and a kouign-amann worth the trip. I'll be back--and I'm keeping an eye on that pastry case.
