My family likes to dine a bit later in the evening and we love that there's a great place for us to dine that's not bar food, has a cozy atmosphere and consistently delicious food. And... Landmark is open until midnight!! Sometimes you wonder with a diner... with so many dishes to available, how can the food really taste that fresh and homemade? Gotta say... Every dish we've gotten has actually been so fresh and the portions are very generous. You cannot beat it for the price. (How do they do it?!) Also, whomever works in the kitchen - you can tell they really take pride in their job because we watched several plates come out and all of them were done with such care - all so beautifully plated. My chicken parm was a comfort food dream come true; on point and all I hoped for... Tender, juicy chicken, not sure if the sauce was made-from-scratch, but it could pass for it. (I don't know what they use but it's really good.) And they not only did not skimp on the cheese, the whole chicken breast was covered with it - again they are so generous. (That's one thing I'm always secretly craving when I order chicken parm anywhere - more cheese!) The portion was so big, I'll have plenty for lunch tomorrow. An unexpected surprise: Their roasted broccoli with garlic. Say what?? Yep! It is so good. I don't even really like broccoli. Roasted Brussels and fresh green beans roasted are my jam. But these? Look out! They are actually a bit addictive. Our server, Lindsay, suggested them because they've become a customer favorite lately, and I thought well why not, they could be good... so glad I tried them. Also, the staff at Landmark are so friendly! The hostesses make us feel immediately so welcome. (Pro tip: Ask to sit in Lindsay's section. She goes over and above and treats you like family. She also makes the BEST Arnold Palmers!) If you do stop by, you'd be amiss not to grab a dessert to-go. We especially love their Tuxedo Mousse Cake and their chocolate cake is my favorite in town. I am a brownie lover and really appreciate that they do their brownies right. I LOVE walnuts in mine and Landmark's brownies are deliciously fudgy with little chocolate chunks and pieces of walnut. (I would've included a photo, but my brownie somehow disappeared.) We live across town now, but we still make the drive because it's worth it! Love Landmark! read more

My family moved to Charlotte in 1979, and after recently moving back to the area, I decided to stop by Landmark Diner for a late lunch. I'm so glad I did! Even though I now live on another side of town, it's absolutely worth the drive. I ordered the Reuben with a small Karpen Island Salad. The salad was fresh, flavorful, and delicious, and the Reuben was one of the best I've had in a long time. I'm a bit of a Reuben enthusiast and have enjoyed them at delis and diners in places like Philadelphia and New York, and Landmark's was outstanding--perfectly grilled, incredibly flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot. The service was just as memorable as the food. My server was warm and attentive, the host was welcoming, and the manager was gracious enough to let me substitute a small Karpen Island Salad instead of the full-size portion. I'm so glad I took the time to revisit Landmark after all these years. The food is every bit as delicious as I remembered, and I look forward to coming back again soon! read more

Stopped here because it's a DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. We stopped for breakfast because it was open early. I had corned beef hash and bacon. Bf had a spinach and feta omelette with home fries and a biscuit. He's a chef and very picky about eating breakfast out but was very satisfied with this one but he did add mushrooms to the omelette. The corned beef hash was cooked wonderfully. Bacon was ok, not candied bacon but it wasn't the overcooked wrinkly kind either so somewhere in the middle bacon lol. Service was average. The last time I was here was probably in 1982 or 83. I lived off Shamrock and I was a regular here, especially for breakfast. Back then, it was THE hotspot for breakfast and late night food. I was in the area and decided to drop in for breakfast. It's changed a lot. It's still good but not quite the level it was in the 80's that I remember. I wanted the salmon omelette but my waitress said they were out of it so I was disappointed but settled for the liver mush with over easy eggs, grits and toast with coffee. The liver mush gave me indigestion. Everything else was good and the coffee was especially good. My waitress was real nice, she was all: honey and darlin this and that but she was slow. Server was very nice. She took our drink order almost as soon as we sat down. The restraunt is very casual. There is a picture of Guy from triple D on the wall. They serve breakfast all day long. This was a breakfast night. The food came quickly. The French toast was thick. It was at least an inch thick. The eggs were loaded with ham and vegetables. If you want a challenge, try to get out of the restraunt without dessert. All of their desserts are made in house. Some of the cakes are 6 inches high. This is a must return restraunt. read more

This is a diner located off of Central Avenue. It's a staple for Charlotte as it is one of the oldest restaurants here. The prices are reasonable in the staff are friendly. The decor gives you a nice diner feel they haven't really updated the decor since they probably opened. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. We rarely get to this side of Charlotte, but when we do, a trip to the Landmark is a must! We arrived at 3:45 and ordered off of the lunch menu. I chose the turkey with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband ordered the cheeseburger and we shared a bowl of French onion soup. Everything arrived quickly and was delicious. The portions are huge and enough for us to share with our 6 year old. My husband is a picky burger fan and he loved the burger. Service was excellent. We will be back! read more

Don't Do It! Food and service was so terrible that it was almost comical. Scrambled eggs were two eggs over easy chopped up after cooking and placed on three slices of cheese fresh from the freeze. Fish and shrimp plate had to be returned after one bite. Old grease and horrible smell. read more

GOOD PLAIN SIMPLE BUT DID I SAY GOOD FOOD! It's a diner folks and it lives up to its name superbly! HUGE portions and very tasty! Our waitress was delightful- answered our many questions, took good care with our special requests (like gravy on the side) checked on us often and gave all sorts of suggestions for zert!! The dessert choices are nearly endless and get this ALL made in house! Woohoo! They say (I opted out of dessert on todays visit) that the chocolate cake is to die for but there was pineapple coconut cake, cheesecake, baklava, apple or cherry pie and so on and so on! The Landmark used to be my go to restaurant. However, it is under new ownership and my, my, my; how things have changed. I have tried it at least 3 times under the new ownership, and each time I've been disappointed. Gone are the days of the hefty plates of food. I ordered the grilled flounder this past Thursday for lunch, and it looked like they sliced a half of piece of flounder into 3 paper thin slices and grilled it. I had spinach with it. Looks like I got about 3 tablespoons of spinach. They did bring us bread without asking this time, but we did have to ask for butter. The salad is no more than a bunch of lettuce with a few sliced cherry tomatoes on top. If you want anything else in the salad, there is an upcharge. I got a brownie for dessert, take out. It was good as always, even though half of it was placed in the box flat while the other half was tossed. I definitely miss the old Landmark Restaurant. Basically, the new one leaves a lot to be desired. read more

We have been coming to Landmark monthly for 5 years-mostly for breakfast and lunch and they continue to deliver great service and great food. Exactly what you expect -breakfast favorites and great sandwiches along with hot lunch daily specials. Fabulous baked goods -perfect to take home later and indulge. They have large booths to accommodate family or friends. Best of all its a 97.5 health code rating and that is rare around Charlotte. I've been going to this restaurant over 30 years. In the past, I would've given it an easy 5, but lately, they have definitely fallen off. Recently, I got the Chicken and Broccoli with a side of Brussel Sprouts. It was bland, the entire meal, until I had to recook it myself and add seasoning and spices. Yesterday I got a take out meal which included a side order of macaroni and cheese. I fed the entire side to my dogs. It looked like they were at the end of the pan and just scraped around the sides and put it in a container. Talking about disappointed. I really couldn't believe it. There was no fixing it. I just gave the entire dish to my dogs. From now on, if I'm not eating there in the restaurant, I'll pass. read more

We showed up tired and hungry after the parade Uptown and nobody knew what they wanted. The Landmark has something for everyone. We were seated right away but it took awhile for our very busy waitress to get to us - she apologized at least 5 times. No worries, we were happy to sit and chill for a bit. I've been to Landmark once years ago and decided to visit again after visiting a nearby thrift store. We went around 1pm for lunch and had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. This place is popular! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful, we enjoyed her so much. She brought out our food super quick too! The cornbread was so good! It is yellow and sweet and served with butter. It could be your dessert. I think it might have been my favorite part of the meal! The baked turkey and dressing was really good too, but it was made with that same sweet cornbread, so if you are expecting a typical Southern cornbread dressing, you may be disappointed. Gravy was very flavorful and the turkey was plentiful and baked perfectly. The fish and chips were good, but the fish was lacking a little seasoning. It was basic and a huge portion. My daughter reported the fries as being really good. The green beans and the fried squash were ok, but just ok. Nothing special. The green beans could have used some seasoning and the squash was cut too thick, but it was tasty. We'd heard that the desserts were the draw at Landmark, so we had to order them, even if we only took a bite and took the rest home. Turns out we really could have skipped them. They were both very bland and basic. I had baklava and my daughter had the eclair. We'd both had much better versions elsewhere. So why 4 stars? First time going to Landmark in years. Came in from South Carolina to meet up with family that wanted to go there. The first waitress finally came to the table to take drink order, in process of getting drink order she was walking off with out finishing the order. She brought a few drinks to the table and proceeded to ask me what my drink order was. I specifically stated for the second time, sweet tea no lemon. She went to get my tea, grab a lemon with her bare fingers and brought it to me. I had to give her my order a third time. I then asked her " do you guys always grab the lemon with your bare hands" she said, " yes some of us do". I was like yeah no thats a red flag and a no for me. We were really looking forward to going to Landmark as previous experiences were favorable. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down the pipe. Not sure where they have gone wrong but it was very much telling with an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We received an appetizer with spoiled ham as depicted on the picture. The manager did not even attempt to approach and assure to make it right. The spring chicken was extremely dry, the salmon tasted extremely fishy and the fries were coated in what appeared to taste like overly used oil. I'm feeling nauseous as I'm leaving this review. I usually don't ever leave a bad review but I hope that the restaurant takes things seriously and improve on the quality of their food. read more
