Since my original review I have returned three more times and it has been consistently good however I find that they don't have "long grain" Chinese rice. They use a dry grain that is similar but is short. It is somewhat smaller than Japanese rice but not "sticky" like Japanese rice. It may seem like a small thing but for me it ruins their fried rice dishes. So despite all of their other consistently good food I leave my rating four stars. read more

This place was GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! We came home one day and one of their menus was stuck to my door. I swear it was a sign from God.. we had just moved and had no food at home so PERFECT TIMING!!! We called in and ordered they told us it would be about 10 minutes, which at first didn't seem right... food for 2 and it will be ready in 10 minutes? Mmmmm Ok! We got there and the place itself is not the greatest but everyone working in there was so nice and they were offering 20% off the bill! I was in a major hurry trying to arrange some last minute things before leaving for vacation. I ordered some food before I was to head home to finish packing and had planned to pick it up. my mind was so full, I completely forgot that I ordered. At 9:15pm they called after closing to check on my status. I was already home in San Diego. I offered to pay and pick up the next day because I couldn't make it back without wasting their time. They asked where I lived. I told them San Diego. I apologized profusely for my error. Tell my that this nice gentleman didn't drive me my order all the way to my house! I was so surprised and encouraged by this wonderful gesture and customer service. I threw him an extra tip. I agree it is the best Chinese restaurant in El Cajon. Hey, it is El Cajon, not Convoy. So it tastes better than what I expected. It is a little American Chinese food, but still tastes tradutional to me. Highly recommend the BBQ pork. It is like 叉烧，but they named it烧肉. Anyway, I will be back. Great food. The servers were attentive and fun. Egg drop soup was a little gooey but the sweet and sour chicken made up for it. It was lightly battered and the bell peppers and onions were not overcooked like most places. Yummy cream chese wontons. Went here with a colleague for lunch and ordered pot stickers, General Tso's chicken, and chicken fried rice. The pot stickers were great as was the fried rice, however the General Tso's was not the greatest. When chicken has been frozen and then deep fried it gets stringy and hard to chew or enjoy. Half of the chicken pieces were really good but the other half were clearly previously frozen and almost inedible. Overall not a bad experience but not top notch either. read more

Been ordering here for a few years and they are a great place to order from. I normally get the sweet and sour chicken with their house fried rice. When it's delivered the food is still fresh and they normally deliver within 30 mts which is fast for being 15 mts away. The staff is always friendly and with a smile. Looks like a family owned business. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We showed up an hour before closing and while we were there several more families came in. So disappointed!! We moved to this area and decided to try this place based on the reviews. Our favorite dish is salt & pepper chicken wings. We have never been to a place that could ruin these, but WOW soggy and absolutely no flavor. We got the house lo mein as well as the beef and broccoli. Both had zero flavor, both my kids and husband would not eat it. We threw the food in the trash and ordered somewhere else. To say I'm dissatisfied is the least. Complete waste of money! read more

Went in for take out on a whim. I've had some bad luck with Chinese Food lately, but this broke that streak! The waitress took my order and let me know it would be about 20 minutes. I was fine with that. I sat at the lunch counter to wait and she brought me fried noodles, "to snack on while you wait." And asked if i'd like some water, which I did. Late review: The portions are big you can split an entree with maybe 3/4 ppl. I came during lunch with my boyfriend. We ordered the orange chicken lunch special and the house fried rice. The lunch special comes with a side soup I believe. Both entrees are good and big entrees we shared it. It's a small place and doesn't look like it gets really packed but the food is good. When we arrived we happy they had inside dining and tables available. Several people were picking up to go orders and only two other tables were occupied. My aunt commented she was happy the restaurant was very clean. My aunt especially enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Pork lunch special. I ordered the Beef and Chicken Lo Mein. It was very good and made with fresh vegetables. We both liked the Hot and Sour soup and fried rice. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a fantastic lunch at a reasonable price. Great food! We ordered honey walnut prawns that were crispy and delicious. House lo mein was chow mein as far as I could tell and loaded with meat and flavor, not greasy like you end up with at a lot of places. The hot and sour soup was up there with the best I've ever had. Plus we got string beans with pork, that we asked them to make mild...and they actually did! The food was so good and I will be back to try more things. From the few times I have been here, this place is amazing. My complaint about how there is absolutely no good Chinese food in San Diego (good meaning delicious and inexpensive) has finally been settled with China 1968. Sure the name is weird, but the food is the best I have had in San Diego in my little over a decade here. I come from the San Gabriel Valley, the center of great Chinese food in Los Angeles and this place would be like any other Chinese food I would find, but its right next to my house and it's finally here!
