First time here, it was empty when we walked in at 3.10p on a Saturday and were excited to see that the lunch specials went until 3:30 even on weekends! I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken (spice level 3) with steamed rice and hot & sour soup. My husband ordered the Orange Chicken, brown rice, and egg drop soup. Both came with egg rolls, and were $6.99 each. The good: My hot & sour soup was outstanding, and the Kung Pao chicken was hands down the best I've ever had. My husband loved his soup as well, and his Orange Chicken was phenomenal; large pieces of boneless white meat, perfectly light-fried in a delicious sauce. Additionally, though people streamed in as we were eating the two wait staffers were happy, polite and extremely attentive to all. The bad: Though crispy, the egg rolls were so greasy that even after wrapping them in napkins to absorb the oil it was no use. It's OK though because we were too full with the yummy stuff to eat 'em. Oh and the TV doesn't work and there's no music playing so it's really quiet. No matter, we'll definitely go back!! read more

We were looking for Chinese food in our area and based on the good reviews decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Wor Wonton Soup, Kung Pao Chicken, Sizzling Pepper Chicken and Crispy Beef. Both the Sizzling Pepper Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken were designated as being spicy on the menu. When we got home, everyone tried all three dishes. The Wor Wonton soup was ok. The Crispy Beef was pretty good. The chicken dishes; on the other hand, were not. Both had the identical tasteless brown sauce on them. Neither were spicy. The only difference in taste between the two dishes were the vegetables. There were no chilies in the Kung Pao Chicken either. Makes me wonder if they have a giant pot of "brown sauce" they use for all their dishes. We Wii definitely not be returning. We are hoping that the Chins restaurant that was going to be opening in the Vons shopping center on Avocado is still planning to open. read more

I love cheap Chinese food and am always looking for a new take out spot. They had plenty of tables but seemed like more of a call it in and bring it home type of place. I tried the War Won Ton soup and chicken wings. The soup was pretty full of meat (Chicken, beef, and shrimp) and veggies that were cooked really well, the won tons (I think they were pork) were good and the broth had a good flavor, especially after I added a few of the red Chile peppers that came with the wings. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with any crispy won ton chips though. :( Not the best salt and pepper chicken wings I have had, they held a lot of oil but they were pretty good, they definitely didn't go to waste. Just ate here for the first time!! FABULOUS food!! FABULOUS service!! Hot, fresh food! The tea was cold and really good Chinese tea. My shrimp with broccoli was just full of shrimp and they weren't little bitty, the Chinese Sesame chicken that was ordered by another member of our party was crispy and just enough sauce, the orange chicken that my husband ordered was perfect!! Ordered the hot and sour soup for delivery. Worst hot and sour I've ever had. It tasted like thin, teriyaki sauce (think the kind you buy in the bottle at the grocery store to use as a marinade), maybe watered down a bit. Just nasty. I like teriyaki when it's done well, just not the bottled stuff as a broth and not when I want hot and sour. Tasted more sweet than sour. Way salty, even for hot and sour. Just bad. I don't know, if they want to serve this stuff, maybe call it sweet and salty teriyaki soup. As far as it lacking other redeeming qualities of hot and sour soup (and this wasn't particularly inexpensive for hot and sour) -- didn't have that nice bite of heat; for a moment, I was excited, I saw what I thought might be a lily bud, but no, it was a carrot sliver (why? the bottled teriyaki is already too sweet); no tree ears, not even shitake, as far as I can tell just basic mushroom (judging by the mush factor). And I couldn't detect even a twinge of vinegar, the sour was just completely missing. Like someone saw a blurry picture of hot and sour soup and used that as a recipe and what they had on hand to make it and it maybe kind of looks the same if you squint and as long as you don't actually taste it. That, or their audience for this is the same as for base fast food -- sweet, salty, no other flavor -- if that's it, they nailed it. I would say barely edible, but it was all I had to eat today, so I made it through half, and tossed the rest. Considering that with delivery, it was $20, total waste of money. Their soups are delicious! Especially the chicken corn soup and the egg flower soup! And they did not forget to include crispy fried wontons with the order. Holy smokes! This place is great! I have a confession to make. My boyfriend and I ate dinner her for the first time last night. I am back, sitting, waiting for my food in excitement. We ordered so much food last night. We were shocked at how low the bill was. The salt and pepper wings entree was so good! The pot stickers were phenomenal, and the house sauce on them was delicious. You can tell tlc really goes into the food here. It was fresh and steaming hot. We showed up at 930 pm on a Monday and they still welcomed us with wonderful service and open arms! I finally found it! My hubby happened to notice the restaurant sign one day and Yelped it. Based on the reviews we called to place an order (they deliver! Bonus). I was looking for a new Chinese spot on Yelp and came across this amazing place! If you're dining in, the placemat settings they have are entertaining, they give good conversation for the table. I can vouch for the egg rolls, chicken lo mein, orange chicken, and the beef and broccoli plates. The taste was great, portion sizes are very large, service was fantastic, sweet and sour sauce is addicting...need I go on? So I'm needing to find a nice local Chinese restaurant because I recently relocated to the area. I found this place from all the positive reviews. It has a nice and simple dining area. The cuisine is Cantonese and I ordered the pork dumplings and house special wonton noodle soup because they ran out of the house special beef noodle soup. The soup was simple and under seasoned but it came with a lot of veggies, meat wontons, and prawns. The dumplings were delicious and came with hot sauce and ginger soy. First trip, got the Kung pao Shrimp. Really tasty, tons of good sized shrimp, veggies were fresh & wait time was less than 10 minutes. A little salty, but overall a great dish. I'm addicted to the salt and pepper chicken, they batter with I think rice flour. It's almost like a tempura batter-light, crunchy, not greasy, and delish! Most importantly, I was hoping to find some delicious salt and pepper chicken wings closer to home, instead of having to drive to Chula Vista(Mandarin Canton). Unfortunately, the wings were SOOOO salty-I was literally brushing salt off the outside. And they put green bell pepper in their garlic/onion/pepper mix. Not terrible but the flavor was very strong and took over. I also tried the mushroom chicken which was very good with lots of veggies. The daily soup was good but the rice was meh.
