[[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome hole in the wall Chinese spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This restaurant reminds me of all the chinese food i ate during my childhood. It had all the great classics but made them better. My favorites were the sweet and sour fish, the chicken wings which were huge and so crispy but juicy inside, and the honey walnut shrimp which were ginormous and hand peeled! Ate so much, but still felt great, as they most likely use less msg, which is better for my body!

China 1968 -- 4 stars Rolled in midday after a morning surf and found a reliably solid neighborhood spot. We shared the sweet-and-sour chicken and sweet-and-sour pork -- both balanced acidity and sweetness well, with a crisp batter that held up instead of going soggy. Took the lunchtime special (just over $20) -- excellent value for a generous plate; left genuinely full and satisfied. Service was attentive and efficient without being fussy. Not a flashy destination, but smart, honest cooking that earns a regular on my list of places to haunt around San Diego. -- Captain 619

Our go to is always Panda or Chins but we saw this place nearby and decided to try it and it did not disappoint. Food tasted so fresh, wings were super crispy, and orange chicken had more than enough sauce. Rice and Lo Mei had great taste, especially the rice with all the different proteins they add. Service was good and prices were fair. The portions are big, definitely shareable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]May look like a hole in the wall from the outside but it's worth the stop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I ordered a soup but it came with a cockroach in it. Totally unacceptable if my wife or I get sick, we'll take legal action.

This review is based on the epic service we had on Christmas Day with a large group for lunch at China 1968. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very casual restaurant with delicious dishes and the ability to handle a crazy group of 13 people on a holiday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was truly seamless. We ordered a ton of food and it just kept coming as we passed dishes. Somehow our servers always managed to find a spot for each plate. I am very thankful for the staff who worked on Christmas to provide our group with a fun and delicious meal. My favorite dishes were the Hot and Sour soup, Mongolian beef, Egg Foo Young, Sweet and Sour pork, and Lo Mein. The egg rolls are big and stuffed with vegetables and you'll say you're only eating half but you won't be able to control yourself. Ok maybe that was me. They're so good!

10/10 The best cream cheese wontons in the world.

Their server Gordon was amazing and super handsome. I feel everyone should go here and order their 100/10 cream cheese wontons!

This place is the real deal. Food is one of the best in El Cajon when it comes to Chinese food.

Disgusting. $32 down the drain. Yuck. Don't eat there. The chicken is gross, and everything tasted bad.

Very good. Service was slow but only because everyone came in at the same time. Worth the drive. Dated decor but the food makes up for it.

Best hot and sour soup I've had in SD. The Kung Po was amazing. Little hole in the wall with great food. Surprisingly great.
