Everything was pretty legit. The General Tsao chicken was prepared just right. Not too much breading or overly fried. Great flavor. Super juicy. The salt and pepper wings were almost just as good as Phuong Trang and Chef China. They definitely don't skimp. The house chow fun was really good too. The only thing that wasn't good were the spare ribs and the bbq pork. Service was great, definitely out of the norm for Chinese restaurants. Went in because it was the only thing open on New Years Day. The people behind the counter were friendly from the start and never stopped being helpful. The food was delicious and the drinks were delicious.The prices were good too! Don't be discouraged by the neighborhood, go in and find out how great this place is for yourself! Best Chinese place in El Cajon. Me and my guy ordered house special lo mein and house special fried rice, egg rolls, and cream cheese wontons. Everything was delicious, came in large filling portions, one plate was enough for two people plenty. Those cream cheese wontons though are the bomb. The waitress was quick and friendly, the service was fast, just took 5 minutes to get our food out. I'm surprised that such a great, clean looking place looked dead when we first came in with nobody at the tables but as we were sitting there we saw five people come and go getting take out and hearing the phone ringing off the hook for orders is reassuring that this place is doing fine. Not impressed at all the delivery time sucks! By the time you get your food you have to re warm it, and it's just OKAY food.

Let me for a second compare this place to panda express, only price wise. You can pay a few extra dollars more here than at panda and literally get double the amount of food. Other than that tiny comparison, this places has restaurant quality food. The service whether you sit down, take out or get delivery is consistent. Very friendly and polite, almost as if they're appreciative and thankful you're there. It's rare to find that type of service. read more

I originally started ordering from them for delivery and on most occasions they delivered within an hour. Recently I have been picking up my orders on my way home and parking is RIDICULOUS in their center! Last time I was even blocked in by a semi... The laundry mat and drive through fast food don't really help with parking so I will probably go back to delivery. The last time I called them it took over 20 minutes of calling and their answering machine picking up for them to FINALLY ANSWER! We usually get their house fried rice with a chicken entree of some sort. We have tried a few different items and all were good! My only complaint about the food is that we love the broccoli beef but they cheat you on the beef! They do give you the option to pay an extra $1, $2 or $3 for meat but even when we pay the max for additional beef it's still very limited. read more

This place never ceases to amaze! I've had so many different dishes and loved them all. Huge portions. Sizzling black pepper beef=delish. Cashew lover delight is my favorite! Cream cheese wontons are special, the salt and pepper wings are on another level, curry three flavor and Kung pao three flavor are under estimates of the spectacular flavors.... must try! Must go! My family tradition was to go to the Cheng Hai Low (spelling??) off of University Ave. in La Mesa. That was many years ago! I remember having all of our family get togethers there. Since that restaurant, possibly still in business in the mid 1980's, I have not found a comparable Chinese restaurant until now. My cousin introduced me to 1968 and I and VERY impressed! The quality of food, prices, and service are impeccable! Very glad that I have found this restaurant. read more

We just moved to El Cajon and were excited to find a Chinese restaurant near by that delivers. Our delivery driver was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. We had the salt and pepper chicken wings, hot and sour soup (wasn't hot enough for me, so I added a little red chili paste), cashew chicken, and beef lo mein. The service was very good, given I was one of two people eating. I went during lunch, and had the kung pao chicken combination with cream cheese wontons for an appetizer. Portions were kind of small, but being a lunch special it is to be expected. I really wanted this place to be better, but it was just OK. Took a chance based on reviews and dined here on Christmas with some family in town. They were pretty busy and under-staffed, so the service was a bit slow. Tried for first time after seeing the nice reviews. It was not that good. No one but us there on a Tuesday night at 6 PM. HMMMMM. Maybe it changed? Anyway Lo mein and soup was bland. Service was good but they charge for extra rice which I have never seen before. Anyway I will stick with Leng's in Lakeside which is more my cup of Chinese tea! read more

I thought this place was pretty good. I came on a Friday for lunch and ordered the beef and broccoli lunch special. It came with a GIANT egg roll, soup and nice heap of sticky rice. The broccoli was fresh and just the right amount of crisp/green and the beef was quite tender. I know Chinese places do something to the beef to make it super tender. I think it involves baking soda. Anyway, I would come back to this place as every aspect of my lunch (including the egg flower soup and crunchy won ton noodles) were piping hot and seemingly fresh. Very good...especially in east county where there really isn't any good Chinese places. Ambiance? Forget it, but who cares..?..Food is worth the trip. read more
