I got a "deer in the headlights" response, followed with a "what's wrong with it" query. Awkward moment. But, minutes later, the server returned from the back kitchen, and the most miraculous, unexpected thing happened. She said they would take it off my bill! Honestly, I was not expecting any resolution. But in wisely doing this, they frankly rescued the situation and my attitude. I respected that one gracious gesture.
