I don't say this to be mean, or out of anger- This isn't edible. There is a very weird, almost chemical taste to the sauce. There is no flavor outside of that. I can't eat more than one bite. I've had some Chinese food in my life but am by no means an expert. I don't want to hurt feelings but this is the truth. If you have ANY expectation of flavor, do not go here. I'm updating my review from last time based on their buffet. I usually opt for their Mongolian, but today I felt like ordering off the buffet. I arrived five minutes after opening and the two buffet tables were already fully loaded with all their foods. Everything looked great, but the sesame chicken was lukewarm, overcooked, super crunchy. The beef and broccoli was lukewarm. The crab rangoons were somewhat overcooked as well. I will say their teriyaki chicken tasted pretty good. Probably the worst fucking place I've EVER been. Went here earlier today with my husband & got sick. The food from the buffet was cold, found a hair in my Mongolian beef, there was absolutely no flavor in most of the food. I had tried to go get hibachi & the meat had no flavor besides the shrimp, there wasn't any seasonings out at all... I'm disgusted. My husband called asking for a refund, they asked him for the card that he used, then told him they can't do refunds (then why ask for the fucking card info?) they told him they could do a discount on our next visit. He said we won't be back & he would just appreciate a refund. They said there's no way I got sick from their food & that it was something else. MIND YOU, first time I ate today was at their establishment only. How are you gonna put the blame on another place when I haven't ate anything else? I eat Chinese food when my wife wants it, but the Mongolian barbecue is where it's at! I load up the beef, scallops, shrimp, and lots of veggies for this. Add their hot paste and hot oil - perfect lunch. I stuff myself each time but it's so good. They cook it while you watch, or you can grab Chinese food. I haven't been disappointed in this place yet. They offer military discount on Wednesday so it's usually busier that day. I recommend going before noon if possible. read more

Tried this buffet on Lunar New Year. The parking lot was so busy when we tried to back into a space some rude customers zoomed into it behind us... I guess blinkers have no meaning anymore. The hostess went to seat us once we were inside, she took us for quite a stroll as she looked for a clean table that might be available, we ended up looping back to a previously passed up table. On a brighter note food was being replenished at the buffet quite readily and a trip to the Mongolian grill produced some nice hot options. This buffet did not have sushi options, so no wasabi for me. We noted the teriyaki chicken was overcooked but the sesame chicken was fine as were a number of other options. It was a busy place that evening, diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. The music was a bit strange as it seemed to be club music with extended remixes and dance music. I think we might prefer the other restaurant off of 114th st., but this is okay, just watch your back in the parking lot. read more

When we went here it was moderately busy but nothing too terrible. I started in the Mongolian grill line and the cooks took forever with the meals. I estimate I stood in line for over 15 minutes while my food was actively cooking. I have been to several Mongolian grills over the years and have never come close to standing there that long. I finally received my food and was able to continue on with my dinner. Sadly due to the amount of time I was waiting on my food, my party was mostly finished with their meals. Our waiter was amazing and promptly brought drinks even before we ran out. He cleared the tables and offered extras to us. As far as ambiance, there isn't much for decoration here. This review is for my visit May 4th, 2020. Restaurants are now able to dine in if they would like. I decided to get take out for their rice noodles that they serve during lunch hours. Upon entry you have to get your temperature taken (no contact) by the host/hostess. After that, you may proceed to the buffet line which is covered by an added layer of plastic shields to the cover the food from guest. The staff will have your to go plate or plate and will serve you whatever you ask. It is also the same with the Mongolian buffet too. My personal opinion, I love it. It adds an extra layer of sanitation. You gotta admit some people are not courteous of others when they are getting their own food at the buffet line and this new method eliminates that. I understand this may be new but please be patient with the staff as this is all for your protection and the protection of others. I hope some of these methods carry on as this is sanitary and a less chaotic way of attending buffets. read more

Came on a Monday night at 6pm for the first time in almost two years. The coconut shrimp weren't crispy, the General Tso's was chewy, and crab rangoon were hard to name a few. Most dishes appeared old or out which I'm sure was the reason for the bad items. My daughter liked the sesame chicken (which was one of items refreshed while we were there) and donuts (also refreshed after some time) but were not enough for the $53 bill for two children and two adults. It's $13 during the week for adults and special kid pricing depending on age. Also, all drinks are not included. While this is published on the sign, I only saw an alcohol drink list, not pop. Went here for a quick lunch today. Place was very busy! Our server was very attentive with making sure to clear plates and fill up drinks. Food was hit or miss. Some food was fresh and good, other items were cold and looked as if it had been sitting. The grill with made to order creations is good, if you want to wait. This is our 'go to' place for a nice Chinese buffet. We live in Glenwood, IA and its a nice 20-minute drive over there. No matter how many times we've eaten there as a family, or with friends, we've never had a bad time. I like the BBQ and don't find the wait long. I create this first, leave it with the cook and then go get a few appetizers and a nice bowl of soup. By the time I finish that, the BBQ is ready. Service is always very prompt and courteous, and I leave them a nice tip although I am actually doing most of the work! LOL. We got a togo box and it ended up horrible. She tried putting the box into a bag.. took a whole five mins, it seemed rude to say that shes taking slow so we let her take the time. Safety is paramount at any Mongolian barbeque. How does this one stack up? Grill kept clean? Check. Cold ingredients kept cold? Check. All items cooked completely? Check. No contact between raw meat and ready to serve food? FAIL: on many visits I observed a spatula being used on raw food then immediately being used to serve cooked food. This is very dangerous. That said, the food is average to above average for a Chinese buffet. Most items are very fresh, thanks to the number of customers being served. The Mongolian barbeque has an above average selection of ingredients and sauces. I'm usually disappointed by the fried green beans, which are oily. The desserts and salads are typical Chinese buffet fare, which is to say, bland, stale, and far from adventurous. I realize that raw salads and super-sweets are uncommon in China, but this part of the buffet could use some customer analysis and creativity. Service is generally good, though like many Chinese restaurants they can be slow to bring the ticket. Prices are on the high side, but smart from a business viewpoint. I've visited this buffet 15-20 times over the last 3 years, and it's still my go-to place for Chinese cuisine when I'm south of Harrison Street. read more

This Chinese buffet is always packed. While you may have to wait a few minutes to get a table it is more than worth it. With such high numbers of people moving through, the food is always fresh and available in abundance. The servers may seem a little flighty, but that's because of the high volume of customers they're serving. Overall, you are definitely getting your money's worth in quantity AND quality. read more
